Damn. I have managed to join games before where the ongoing race has literally just ended (bloody rare occurrence though) which is awesome, but yeah, I just wish you could click on worldwide vs, choose your character/kart, wait a few seconds and then be on the start line ready to go.

Yeah, but in previous MK games that's nearly always been at the start, or early stages of a race. So I'm assuming it's going to be the same story with 8.

Online gameplay. And finally an answer to my question, although not the one I wanted: Ugh... You still have to sit through an ongoing race before you can play. Around 4 minutes from selecting your kart combo to the actual start of a race. Not so much of an issue initially, when we'll be playing marathon online sessions. But this will definitely be annoying later on, when you just want to jump on for a quick race or two, and have to sit through that every single time you go online.

@dazzybee, there still room to join? I wouldn't mind a few games. Nah, it's accessed from the main Mario Golf section.

Yeah, it's definitely a bit skimpy on the content. But I really like the vibe of it so can overlook that. And it's such a relaxing experience (apart from certain moments ) that I can see myself going back to it many times in the future, just to chill out. It's gonna be my digital stress ball. Shame we didn't cross paths in the end then, / nando /. By the way did you play it while online? If so, how many other players did you encounter? I bumped into 3 people throughout my journey.

Yeah, the predetermined track choices are only for worldwide vs against randoms. Good addition too I reckon. The amount of times I had to play Wuhu Mountain Loop on the trot in MK7...

Even I hated the 2008 conference, including the section on Wii Music. Nintendo single-handedly ruined the perception of the game with that car crash of a showcase. It was terrible. This should've been their E3 presentation of Wii Music: Anyway, looking forward to H-o-T's recap of 2008.

So I finally decided to download Journey tonight. Just finished playing through it in one sitting, and yeah, it was pretty amazing. :awesome: It scared the shit out of me at one point too...

BREAKING NEWS! The amount of posts in the MK8 Miiverse community increases immensely, as stores all over mainland Europe (especially in France by the looks of things ) decide to completely ignore the street date and sell the game early. Seriously, why have UK retailers gotta be such pussies?

Genuinely surprised there's anything going up on the eShop this week. And when I think of all those weeks gone by, with not a single decent download... Is it really that difficult for Nintendo to think about release dates from the perspective of the customers?
