  1. My capture device crashed during the 1st GP (noticed when I went to grab the results screen) so I don't have that pic. @The Mole I'm assuming you took pics, or if not @BowserBasher, you're usually capturing too, right?
  2. Really, of which characters? If it's any that are also in amiibo form, then that's a really shitty move by Nintendo to lock this mode to the Toad amiibo.
  3. The site must be getting hammered, it won't load up for me at all. Got loads of stars left to redeem, but not sure if I want to go for this kind of stuff anyway, just incase they still add some cool physical items. Japanese Club Nintendo got a MK8 soundtrack recently, which I'd love to get my hands on.
  4. To be honest I'm still pretty surprised this is actually happening, I genuinely didn't see Nintendo making this kind of move. Anyway, it's going to be really interesting to see how this all unfolds. I think it would be cool if Nintendo produced mobile titles that somehow link directly to their dedicated console games, something which offers an incentive for playing both. Not sure exactly how/what that could be, but I think that simply dishing out standalone "light" versions of their games on mobile devices won't necessarily get people then upgrading to the console side of things. Time will tell I guess.
  5. Yeah, Sonic Transformed was actually better than I initially expected it be, but it's miles away from the quality of Mario Kart. And stuff like this happened quite a bit: For me MK8 is still the best game available on Wii U, despite the Battle Mode being borked, and it being a bit light on certain content. But apart from that it's an absolute gem of a game, it looks and sounds incredible, and the gameplay is spot-on. Super responsive, definitely fast enough, and locked at 60fps. :awesome: Perfection. Of course I'd like MK to expand a bit more, some additional focus on single player aspects like DKR and MKDS would be awesome. But as long as the game continues to provide multiplayer mayhem like this: it's enough to keep me coming back for more every time.
  6. Is this the norm for amiibo sent from ShopTo now then? Last one I got from there was shipped in a jiffy bag.
  7. I had no idea you could do that! Well, I knew mp3 playback was possible, but didn't realise it could run in the background while playing a game. :awesome: Stuck some tunes on a USB stick last night while playing DriveClub and OlliOlli2. :awesome: It didn't help my driving/skating at all (in fact it might have made 'em worse ) but it made playing those games even more enjoyable. Shame it doesn't automatically mute the game soundtrack when doing this, but it only takes a few seconds to do that manually so no big deal. I wonder if the Spotify method will have such a feature.
  8. It just had to be done. *EDIT* If anyone is feeling sorry for Luigi, then set your avatar to this:
  9. Nope. I was doing the daily amiibo scans on Hyrule Warriors, but stopped a few weeks ago. Getting four 1 Rupee prizes in a row once was the last straw. Now it's just a case of connecting my Fit Meter every so often, and the N-E MK8 League on Thursday evenings. If it weren't for that, I wouldn't be powering up the Wii U at all right now. The MK8 DLC and Splatoon can't get here soon enough as far as I'm concerned.
  10. Cheers for the replies, glad to see I'm not alone on this. Great point. That's something I'd like to do more of, even though I'm rarely (if ever) disillusioned with games, but the fickle nature of being an avid gamer and the desire to always play something new prevents me from doing so. The guy is a legend. :awesome: I'm also impressed by his ability to multitask while gaming, either with TV or another game!
  11. Yeah, I was thinking about that the other day when attempting some of the challenges on the later levels (and therefore restarting a lot ), it's great how fast it is.
  12. And by that I mean achieving absolutely everything that a game has to offer, or getting all of the achievements/trophies. The Your 2015 Gaming Diary thread has made me realise that I don't anymore, despite still playing a lot of titles. Have games just become more difficult to 100% or is it a case of my skills slipping due to old age? I remember once upon a time I wouldn't move on to a new game until I'd fully completed the one I was currently playing. If I did that today I'd have to stop gaming, or potentially keep playing the same game forever! Part of me thinks that I could still 100% some stuff if I really put my mind to it, but these days I seem to just start playing something else as soon as I reach the credits on whatever I'm playing. The free games on PS+ is another thing that's contributing to this I reckon. In order to play everything/most of what gets given out on that service, you kind of have to keep up the pace. That and I'm like a hungry dog, put food in front of my face and I have to eat it right away! But yeah, anyone else noticed themselves completing less games than they used to? And if so, is it because you no longer can (for whatever reasons) or that you simply aren't bothered anymore?
  13. Since my last post I've played through 3D Out Run (raced every route in glorious 3D! :awesome:) and today I started and finished Papo & Yo. Very interesting game that one, technically it's pretty flawed (irregular frame rate, screen tearing, etc...) and generally rough around the edges. But it's a beautiful game at heart, and the story (of a young boy dealing with an abusive father ) is skilfully delivered through gameplay with next to no dialogue or cut-scenes. Ended up giving me a similar vibe to Journey, and I was really impressed with it.
  14. Does it give you the option to enter text at any point, or is it just a series of radio buttons? If it is possible to leave a message then I'll do the survey just to tell Capcom to fuck right off. This game should've been on Wii U to start with, if they reckon I'm gonna buy it again they got another thing coming.
  15. Out Run is just soooo good. A timeless classic. Loving all the additions/little details and of course the S3D in this version too. M2 did an amazing job with this.
  16. You didn't see this coming though: And neither did your Piranha Plant. First of all, sorry. Secondly, that was so hilarious I literally couldn't stop laughing. I'm still struggling now. God I love this game. Anyway, Group 1 results: : peace:
  17. Speaking of weapons bouncing... I went back and did some of the low rank quests yesterday and unlocked a new urgent against this weird electric unicorn thing. It wasn't a frenzied monster, and my weapon has white sharpness, but pretty much every attack would bounce. Still not quite sure how I managed to kill it. Guess my cats did most of the damage.
  18. Yeah, it must be scaled depending on how many players there are though, just like monster HP. I have made good use of them a few times, but against the more hyper monsters the window of opportunity is obviously much smaller. And of course there are always those unpredictable elements to contend with (classic MH moments) like being knocked over by a rhino, or for lava to suddenly erupt right where you're standing, etc...
  19. I tip my hat to anyone that gets the platinum trophy on this, it must be a nightmare to get through the entire game (especially the last few stages) on RAD Mode. Starting to wonder if I'll even be able to unlock RAD Mode. Finally manged to do all the tricks yesterday, but some of the challenges where you need to work specific tricks into a level-long combo are brutal! The difficulty makes it even more addictive though, this is the perfect "just 1 more go" game.
  20. I find those Wystones pretty annoying to use really. Not sure if they level up more so that they last longer, but at the moment they always seem to run out at the worst possible time for me. Probably just down to bad timing on my part though.
  21. They get introduced on the 9 star urgent quest against Apex Seregios if I recall correctly. And then upgraded to Lv 2 after completing one of the 10 star quests, I think. I got the Lv 2 versions recently but can't remember which quest it was.
  22. Good stuff. Liking the look of this one, similar vibe to The Swapper, which was pretty awesome.
  23. The Meownzer tank! Yep, that's another great team attack. There's actually a surprising amount of depth to the Palico system in this game, lots of interesting combinations you can do when setting 1st Stringers. :awesome: I've got 5 of each of the different palico types too (the island is pretty packed ) so can set up all of the 5 star Forte Skills.
  24. Hehe! They've got better gear than me! My main Palico has a high rank Seregios weapon (think his attack is 450ish) and his usual companion has the hammer from the latest DLC quests (the one with 35% affinity! :awesome:) and they're both wearing that giant Felyne mask. Also both at Lv. 30, which I think is the max, but not sure. The level has turned red though, so I'm guessing it is. It's so damn funny watching them take on giant monsters together, that attack when they grab on to a monster's face and start punching the crap out of it gets me every time.
  25. Don't think anyone would want the game to be single player only, I certainly wouldn't. But I can definitely see an appeal to the single player aspect of the game, so I also wouldn't want them to ditch that entirely either.
