I'd forgotten about the Pokémon Bank thing. Yeah, they'd have a hard time keeping that and the online subscription fee going at the same time. We could definitely do with some more info on the upcoming online setup at this point, I suppose they really want to reveal the details alongside game announcements though. And while Smash Bros. is still the game we're all expecting as the big title to launch the paid service, I'm starting to think it could actually be Animal Crossing instead. Some of the stuff they're currently doing with the mobile version, not to mention the multiplayer aspect of Tortimer Island in New Leaf, gives the impression that Animal Crossing on Switch will be the most online featured game in the series. When you also take into consideration how popular AC is with female players (56% of the user base on New Leaf and over 75% for Pocket Camp!) it makes sense for Nintendo to use it as a way of selling the online service on Switch.

Crazy! Looking forward to a new Digital Foundry vid if those screens are for real. And I still need to play this at some point too. Damn you Sony for making it a PS+ title on the same month as my subscription expired.

L.A. Noire - PS4 - XONE - Switch - November 14th
RedShell replied to Aneres11's topic in Other Consoles
Started playing this on the weekend, it's yet another game that I never got around to playing back when it first came out (despite really liking the look of it) but it's all good because I'm getting to enjoy it now, and boy am I enjoying it! They absolutely nailed the 40's vibe with this one, so good. And you can always count on Rockstar to deliver the goods when it comes to a licensed soundtrack: Gonna have that stuck in my head for a while. It's a shame about what happened with Team Bondi though, never realised quite how troubled the development of this game was. Guess the chances of something similar to L.A. Noire being produced in the future are pretty much zero, but if there ever was a game made just like it but set in the 70's it would instantly become one of my all-time faves I reckon. -

@VsPhoenix, thanks for all the cross-pollination you've been doing at my garden! Have been able to play some Brake Tapper every day (since completely running out of friend powder) as a result. Have been trying to return the favour as much as possible, but I never really got into the gardening aspect (other than when the special events were on) so am a little behind. I think they should probably add some extra ways to earn, or increase the amount of friend powder you get for doing stuff like watering people's plants though, it should be 1 for each plant not 1 for the entire garden! -
I see. Watched this yesterday: It's got me even more excited to get the game and start some hammer time. I never really messed with those sliding charge moves in the beta, but they look absolutely awesome!

I’d say go for affinity, as LS still has pretty fast attack rate. That or attack power, healing ability would be pointless for you.

I got it. BTW, doesn’t look like MKTV displays smart steering for other players, as I’ve just been checking some replays and it only shows up on my Wario. Anyway, fun session tonight. Looking forward to doing some highlights. -

That's one way of describing it, yeah. @Dcubed summed it up very well when we did the first "Smart Steering" GP last year, by posting this: -

Loving the new content in this. Some of the animal outfit combinations are hilarious, and I like how they do a little fashion show after you dress them. I noticed the addition of missing item quests now too, which is a cool nod to the mainline games. And the new Brake Tapper mini-game is pretty addictive, although the amount of caps needed to trade for the furniture items is slightly insane! 15,000? That said, I'm already approaching 4,000 (yep... addictive ) but am also starting to run very low on the currency needed to play it. -
Base.com is currently the cheapest as far as I can tell, they have the variety pack for £53.85.

Amazing! Had no idea the camera in the right Joy-Con could be used for stuff like that.

Cheers. Mushroom only/no item races make for pretty boring MKTV highlights though, so figured I’d try something to make it slightly more entertaining. Almost cut out the last GP entirely, but in the end settled for running it at “400cc”. -

IN! Last week's highlights: -
Nice. de Blob is amazing! (legendary soundtrack as well, that I still listen to regularly) The sequel, however... not so much.
-
Finished this last night. The ending was absolutely bonkers, didn’t see any of that coming. But yeah, very glad I finally got to check out the game, it’s certainly a pretty unique experience. I enjoyed the slight puzzle element of figuring out exactly how to tackle each colossi (a few of them actually took me a while to work out ) and the gameplay was for the most part very good, although at times it did feel like I was also fighting the camera a bit. Looking forward to doing another playthrough at some point, quite tempted to have a go at the hard mode speedrun trophy too.

Just defeated number 14... The 5th one remains my favourite... so far, hopefully the last two will be cool. Don't think anything is going to top the 13th as far as comedy goes though... ...Poor Agro.

Nice one @Dcubed, you got GP1 and 3 the wrong way around though. Fun night. I was not ready for 200cc. Still in Shadow of the Colossus mode. -
Just did the 5th colossi, daaaaaaaamn! That was ridiculously exhilarating!! Man, obviously the game didn’t look anything like this on PS2, but even so it must have been mind-blowing back in the day. Loving it.

Yep, seriously bad move by Nintendo. If they don’t plan to increase the value of previously earned points, then they should expect (and deserve) very low numbers on the eShop this month. Can’t believe they’ve settled on this idea actually, going to annoy so many of their most loyal customers.

Just finished the goth event. The little cutscene at the end was super cute, with Lottie singing and my character playing electric guitar! Looking forward to the next big update, which is set to include animal outfit customisation. -

IN! BTW. -
How many gold points does everyone have at the moment? I've got just under 500, which as far as I can tell would be around 1400 with the new rate. Seriously not cool if they don't modify the value of existing points. Pretty sure eShop purchases are going to drop until March as well, unless they do.
-
Yeah, at least there's the option to delay registering a physical game (although the amount of points earned is far worse! ) digital purchases are automatically registered.
-
They should really apply this to any previously earned Gold Points too, where buying a £40 game only got you 70 points. But they blatantly won't.
