Cheers for the games last night, @nekunando. Shame about the crazy lag though, there are times when this game is basically unplayable as a result, and yesterday was one of those times. Not sure if it was the same for you, but the lag was so bad for me that I literally couldn't touch the ball 99% of the time (and not for the usual reason of me just being bad at the game ). At one point it even got stuck after a goal replay and I was watching your car drive around in circles for about a minute. Gave me time to snap some screens and make a (badly) animated GIF out of it : Rocket Lag.

It’s made worse by having the title/menu screens running at 60, very strange choice. Yeah, the game is pretty slowpaced and basic, but I like the ability combinations you can do, and it looks absolutely stunning! Definitely the best visuals in a Kirby game so far (even though I prefer the art style of the Wii U game) there are some lovely effects going on in this, especially the lighting which is beautiful. They probably should’ve simplified the visuals slighty and targeted 60fps though.

Same here. Will hopefully be IN! though. Check out the highlights from last time: -
Was the European version also taken down? Don’t imagine it was, seeing as it’s actually just the demo as intended. What I downloaded is at least.
-
Yeah, very strange. Have you played the demo? If so, what did you make of it?
-
The demo went live yesterday, all 36GB of it! It is in actual fact the entire game data just with restrictions in place to limit where/what you can do, although in America SEGA somehow managed to severely fuck up and released the full game with no restrictions at all! It has apparently been pulled now, but looks like there's quite a few people enjoying the complete game already. Which begs the question, if the game is indeed complete, what's with this extra delay until April? Anyway, I spent an hour or so with the demo last night and while I'm definitely enjoying it, the general performance of the game is disappointing. Not only does it run at a much slower frame rate than Zero and Kiwami, there's some nasty stutter going on at times, plus horrendous screen tearing too. Not sure if it's a much better situation on the Pro, but I believe the only difference is a resolution bump to 1080p. The combat is also going to take some getting used to as despite using more or less the same control setup/inputs it feels very different in Yakuza 6, it's like they've added a load of additional physics to everything which makes it really weird after having spent so much time playing the previous games. Really hope it clicks though, as some of the new aspects (like fighting inside convenience stores) are fantastic! BTW, anyone that has played Zero and Kiwami be sure to check out New Serena in order to receive a couple of additional items for having save data from the previous games.

I think once they get popped by someone the code becomes invalid. Noticed when I hid some new balloons yesterday that the code changes.

Forgot just how crazy 12 player N-E games are! Great stuff. It felt like Frantic items were on. -

MKTV sometimes gets this weird lag on it when you restart the playback (which I do for every replay when capturing to remove the controls overlay) and in this case it kept the explosion from a Spiny Shell on screen at the start of the race. -

IN! -
Some of my (probably quite easy) balloon codes: This mode definitely seems like it'll replace the need to farm for coins at least.
-
Yeah, fair play to anyone that enjoys that stuff. But to me it looks like the video game equivalent of watching paint dry. Mind you, I remember enjoying Nintendo Pocket Football Club which is basically Chibi-Football Manager. But I guess the much simpler nature of that game, combined with the cute presentation made all the difference.
-
True. I'd still like to have the option of both though.
-
I've never even "played" it.
-
Great vid on the entire series:
-
I believe so, yeah. But that kind of thing is inevitable anyway (Switch has already been hacked ) so if it's still the whole reason behind not offering any form of save backup option, then they need to come up with a better reason, or just get with the program already.
-
Pretty awful episode last night as the choice of games was just terrible. A point and click game and Football Manager?... Seriously? Sure, they got to take the piss out of the fact they were playing incredibly dull games to spectate, but it didn’t change the fact they were playing incredibly dull games to spectate. The people running this show should really restrict the guest game choices to stuff that’ll make for more entertaining gameplay/viewing.

It doesn’t even have to be cloud saves, just give us the option to manually backup save data via the micro SD card or a USB stick! If they do introduce cloud saves as part of the paid online service, but don’t enable an offline alternative for those that aren’t subscribed, that’s also going to be really shitty. I mean, I obviously lost access to cloud storage on PS4 recently when my PS+ subscription expired, but at least all of my save data on USB is still useable as an alternative.
-
I'd forgotten about the Pokémon Bank thing. Yeah, they'd have a hard time keeping that and the online subscription fee going at the same time. We could definitely do with some more info on the upcoming online setup at this point, I suppose they really want to reveal the details alongside game announcements though. And while Smash Bros. is still the game we're all expecting as the big title to launch the paid service, I'm starting to think it could actually be Animal Crossing instead. Some of the stuff they're currently doing with the mobile version, not to mention the multiplayer aspect of Tortimer Island in New Leaf, gives the impression that Animal Crossing on Switch will be the most online featured game in the series. When you also take into consideration how popular AC is with female players (56% of the user base on New Leaf and over 75% for Pocket Camp!) it makes sense for Nintendo to use it as a way of selling the online service on Switch.

Crazy! Looking forward to a new Digital Foundry vid if those screens are for real. And I still need to play this at some point too. Damn you Sony for making it a PS+ title on the same month as my subscription expired.

L.A. Noire - PS4 - XONE - Switch - November 14th
RedShell replied to Aneres11's topic in Other Consoles
Started playing this on the weekend, it's yet another game that I never got around to playing back when it first came out (despite really liking the look of it) but it's all good because I'm getting to enjoy it now, and boy am I enjoying it! They absolutely nailed the 40's vibe with this one, so good. And you can always count on Rockstar to deliver the goods when it comes to a licensed soundtrack: Gonna have that stuck in my head for a while. It's a shame about what happened with Team Bondi though, never realised quite how troubled the development of this game was. Guess the chances of something similar to L.A. Noire being produced in the future are pretty much zero, but if there ever was a game made just like it but set in the 70's it would instantly become one of my all-time faves I reckon. -
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp ( Mobile Game. Out Late Nov )

@VsPhoenix, thanks for all the cross-pollination you've been doing at my garden! Have been able to play some Brake Tapper every day (since completely running out of friend powder) as a result. Have been trying to return the favour as much as possible, but I never really got into the gardening aspect (other than when the special events were on) so am a little behind. I think they should probably add some extra ways to earn, or increase the amount of friend powder you get for doing stuff like watering people's plants though, it should be 1 for each plant not 1 for the entire garden! -
I see. Watched this yesterday: It's got me even more excited to get the game and start some hammer time. I never really messed with those sliding charge moves in the beta, but they look absolutely awesome!

I’d say go for affinity, as LS still has pretty fast attack rate. That or attack power, healing ability would be pointless for you.
