  1. This game is soooo crisp in portable mode, looks amazing. Great HD rumble too, that heartbeat during critical points! Very cool effects when you activate a Special shot as well. Try playing a match with the sound off and listen closely to the Joy-Con.
  2. Huh? *tries again* Indeed you can. Woohoo! Not sure what the hell was going on earlier when I was trying that then, but I’m very pleased to find out that it does work, thanks.
  3. This is pretty great, have won a couple of tournaments so far and unlocked all the characters. Some things are annoying me though... l keep triggering and then instantly hitting zone shots accidentally. A few times this has been advantageous (I mean if I wasn’t expecting it, my opponent sure as hell wasn’t! ) but more often than not the lack of aiming means the ball either goes out or straight into the net. I’m also missing the old-school button combo way of doing drop shots and lobs, don’t like having to hold up/down on the stick and then pressing X. The little power-up taunt you do when receiving seems really laggy in this, as does the ball toss. Other than those issues though, I think this is looking to be the best Mario Tennis in a long time.
  4. Same here. But yeah, count me in too if it’s possible.
  5. Oh yeah, of course. I need another coffee...
  6. Oh great, that’s gonna be one of those can’t unsee things, like James Bond’s really wide mouth on the Goldeneye box art. I see. Wonder what effect they have on cooking then.
  7. So far I’ve expanded the item box once and recharged the battery once or twice. Will probably save ‘em now though for either more box expansions or something expensive, yeah. Probably that 2x Pokémon decoration.
  8. I got 2 Pokémon from a single recipe last night! There’s a decoration that increases the chance of that happening, but it’s cool to know it can still occur without it, especially as I’m likely to be stuck with a single cooking pot throughout the game.
  9. 162 here. I’ve been spending them though, oh and Nintendo still owe me 1000 or so, you know... from that time they changed the value and ripped off their most loyal customers.
  10. Don’t think you need to keep ZL held down the entire time, just when selecting a player.
  11. Nice! My highest so far from the pot was a Lv. 46 Zubat. Have you collected any of the rainbow ingredient that’s on the second row yet? It’s the only type that I don’t seem to be able to get.
  12. Cheers for the games. Same time next week? First time trying the spectator mode tonight, very cool. Shows just how amazing Splatoon 2’s engine is.
  13. Can you cancel it by pressing 'B'? There’s an Everstone switch on each Pokémon (located in the screen where you attach stones) I have it set to ON for my Pikachu so he’s still Pika! Pika! i.e. cute but weak. Anyway, after a bit of team optimisation/leveling I’ve managed to scrape through to area 7, last boss battle I just did was super close! Literally down to my last Pokémon with like 1 HP remaining. Have also unlocked the silver cooking pot.
  14. That’s annoying.
  15. No idea. Actually, I’ve only had 1 Pokémon evolve so far, which was Venonat. Have also had to remove Pikachu from my team in order to progress, even with my current team of most powerful Pokémon/stones I’m finding it tricky to beat some of the boss stages now. Looks like I’ll need to level up a bit more.
  16. Just added some for the first time, will let you know what happens. *EDIT* Lv. 6 Electabuzz... Meh, not even shiny. Nice! Me thinks shiny Pokémon are a bit too easy to obtain in this game.
  17. Yeah, I think all blue ingredients = water type, all red = fire, etc. I also cooked with all yellow once which got me a 2nd Pikachu.
  18. Less than 2 weeks to go! *Total Recall lady* “Two weeeeeks!” Hopefully there aren’t anymore substantial leaks, at least on the Nintendo side of things. I’m not too fussed about seeing 3rd party, Xbox or PS stuff before e3 as I rarely watch those conferences live and the surprises don’t have the same kind of impact for me anyway. As for posting leaks on here, it would be nice to restrict it all to a “spoiler” thread, but at the end of the day unless it’s something that was also backed up by moderation it’s basically impossible. Unfortunately, it seems like the only way to keep the entirety of e3 a surprise these days is to completely avoid the internet until the moment the event starts.
  19. I’ve been picking away at this throughout the day and it’s definitely growing on me, it plays like a much less bonkers version of Pokémon Rumble and there’s actually a little bit of depth to the gameplay via the type system and timing moves correctly. The items you collect/attach to your Pokémon is a pretty nice way to power up your team (or in my case, give all the best stuff to Pikachu ) and I like how filling out a row with upgrades activates additional “bingo” skills. Looks like Shiny Pokémon are in too, I got a shiny Diglett earlier on. Not purchased any of the micro-transactions, and think getting through the game without doing so is going to fine (with some patience, obviously ) In fact I’ve already obtained several items that are sold in the eShop purely from just playing the game.
  20. Big time. No Ulala, Amigo, AiAi, Beat, B.D. Joe... They needed to be keeping all those characters plus adding even more (Yakuza characters would’ve been awesome ) not reducing it to Sonic only.
  21. And best of all the performance also looks good, which is something that Game Freak have been really struggling with for quite a while. I actually like how this is trying to simplify stuff and cutting down on the ridiculous number of Pokémon there are in the newer titles. Still not sure if this’ll get me back into Pokémon, but will be keeping an eye on it.
  22. This doesn’t seem to be up to much gameplay-wise and there’s been little done to make it feel intuitive on Switch when using standard controls (you have to move an on-screen cursor using the control stick ) but hey, its free and it has some awesome tunes. I’m especially loving this: So catchy!
  23. Finished up Fairune 2 (which should be called Unfairune 2 ) and the rest of the collection. Anyway, with all 3 Fairune games complete, Fairune Blast was finally unlocked! And it is a lot of fun. Unfortunately though, it's also very short. Just 1 level. It's cool how it features the 3 characters from Kamiko though, and replaying the game with each of them feels quite different due to the unique weaponry and special attacks (also taken right out of Kamiko). I've already got pretty hooked trying to find the optimal attack patterns and because each attempt only lasts for a couple of minutes, you definitely get that "just one more game" thing going on. Perfect for the Switch. Will definitely be playing this for a while longer, see if I can climb the world ranking a bit more: LOL @ the disparity between my RPG and SHMUP rankings. Also, I tip my hat to the Japanese player that is number 1 across all 4 titles! Crazy.
