  1. Just curious - what kind of books do you prefer to read? I read fantasy - surprise? - and I love getting lost in a new world with new stuff to discover.
  2. I also tend to get burned out from open world games because I want to do everything and thus get distracted from actually completing the game. In The Witcher III, I simply didn't progress the main story because of all the side quests, treasure icons and whatnot that were available to me but that mains that after what, 30 hours I hadn't really played what made the game so great and I just didn't want to continue playing it anymore. What @Glen-i did in the beginning, getting complete PokéDex for all the Pokémon he caught surely will lead to a burnout because it's simply not that fun in the long run (IMO). However, running around, discovering the world and new Poklémon is a lot more fun and thus, that was what I focused on. I would have wanted more riddles, secrets and deeper lore (those ruins!!) but I did end up enjoying the game a lot - even more than I would have expected in the beginning of January.
  3. And there it is. Arceus is obtained. It took me 55 hours and 49 minutes, a good 15 hours more than completing the first part of the main story. The final fight against it was brutal and took me half an hour, I would assume, restarting the battle again and again. But all is well now. I found the hunt for the four legendary, roaming Pokémon in the end to be the most frustrating part of the end game of this game. The final one made me black out several times, losing important stuff from my satchel! Has anyone ever got anything back from people finding it or is it just an artificial gimmick with no real people behind it? Still, quite the game, quite the journey. It is by far the most fun I've had with a Pokémon game since Black and White. I enjoyed X & Y and Sun & Moon to som extent but this was far more pure fun. I hope they let the freedom slip into the main games now. I cannot go back to locked routes, cut-off areas and random, unseen encounters in tall grass. I want a lively world with Pokémon running about, I want to feel bad for catching a Blissey that's just minding it's own business trying to touch its feet. I want to chose whether to fight a Pokémon or just catch it without interruptions in the main games, they have over time felt too slow and old-school to me. The battle system is alright. Just keep the non-generic backgrounds. I found the Agile / Strong versions of the moves interesting but in the end, I felt they just were a bit unfair, the agile version was just not weak enough so and agile and a normal attack would make my Pokémon faint. It was an interesting concept, though, and I like that they at least tried. And I want a better story than just wanting to become the best Pokémon trainer in the world. I'm fine with the Gym structure but it shouldn't be the main driver of the story. Also, side missions need to return to the main games. Simple as that. But I don't want Pokémon Legends 2. I don't think the concept would hold if we just got another 50 hours long game with new areas and new Pokémon. It should be tightened a bit, smaller, interconnected areas, a deeper story with focus on lore and characters / Pokémon.
  4. Oops, typo.... Cheers. I figured it was very low key as no major outlet reported about it.
  5. What was the announcement for Pokémon Master sEX?
  6. But at least. I got Cleffa and Bonsly!
  7. Got Munchlax! But then I found out I also need Cleffa and Bonsly... god damnit. Other than that, I need the other two starters and the post-game Pokémon.
  8. Limbo is more of a game with actual puzzles and challenges, I enjoyed that. Inside was more of an interactive show where you more or less just push right. It didn't really click with me.
  9. Found the final wisps today. Needed two in the final area and I had to use a guide for the final one. It was hidden in plain sight but blended in with the background when seen from above. Then I need to finish the post game content to get some more new Pokémon, and finally I have to find a Munchlax. The rest I need aren't hard to get, I think.
  10. It means that they just felt it was time for a new banner, and this is the project they are working on.
  11. Ah, no. It's entirely my fault. Sort of. At least not the game's fault. I had just followed a quest, it ended, and I didn't know where to go. But I had just got my second son at that time (January last year) and things were getting busy so I didn't have the energy to pick it up at the time. And then time passed. Didn't play much for a good month or two after that.
  12. Just got a Cherubi (two actually!) and evolved it to Cherrim. I don't expect one to actually get both forms, right? Also got all wisps in the first three areas. The two worst are left, though. My method of just flying around at night on Braviary has worked well for me. I'm at 221 Pokémon now but I'm playing this a lot less now.
  13. I stopped playing this at some point after the 20 hours mark because I didn't really know where to go and didn't have energy to just wander about discovering stuff. I've always wanted to return to it, though, as I did enjoy it rather much.
  14. It looks incredibly entertaining and interesting. Will definitely want to watch that in the cinemas. Damn.
  15. Well, at least with Daredevil, you can watch the third season without much else. It starts where Defenders ends, though, so might want to read up on that. But for Defenders, there really is no need to watch Iron Fist or Luke Cage at all. I didn't and understood it perfectly without. It's not that good, though.
  16. I can really recommend Daredevil season 3. Just watched that in January and I really enjoyed it. But I haven't watched anything else but Defenders and Jessica Jones. And I don't intend to.
  17. After the story ends, a few new Pokémon are added to the rifts. I'm unsure if this is the main story or the post content story, though. The same for me. However, I find that finding those Wisps is "easy" enough by just gliding around in the dark on Braviary, looking around. Found all Wisps in Crimson Mireland that way recently. But then again, some are hidden in caves which is a bad move.
  18. Well, this was a pleasant surprise. Will probably pick this up to play with my son, he should be able to play it well enough.
  19. In the few minutes you have, heal your Pokémon and stash everything but Potions, Revives and Poke Balls. Then you are ready.
  20. I've never had to wait long once I've entered an area before a rift appeared. However, the new patch also makes it easier to catch Cherrim (which I still haven't found any of!).
  21. Had a feeling this would be announced today so I stayed home to wait for it. Looking forward to it! Silksong? Since I'm on paternity leave and have no plans except for going to the Zoo Thursday, I might stay up to watch it live.
  22. I've been "offered" a job at a pension company as a software developer - "offered" because I just had a coffee talk with the manager, someone I knew from uni. At the moment, I'm working in a software company delivering pension administration systems to pension companies so it'll be a shift to the other side of the table and basically a return to what I did before. It's C# this time, whereas I use Java now - it would be nice to add C# (and F#) to my list of competencies (even though it's not that different from Java). The tasks I would be getting are rather similar to my current tasks but I think that I would be trading technological fidelity with a more social culture. My current workplace is rather serious and since I have worked from home for the past two years, I hardly know anyone at the office anymore. Furthermore, over the past half-year a lot of employees have left the company so my attachment to the company is almost purely that I enjoy the tasks I get. However, I'm unsure if I want to change. At the moment I'm on paternity leave and it's very common to use this period to change job, but I feel it's betraying the company you work for a little. They pay me my full salary for 10 weeks while I'm away and then I just end up and leave once that has ended? I think changing would be more down to getting more money this time around as having just bought a house and having two children is more taxing on my economy. The other place haven't given me an offer yet but they do come with more vacation days and higher pension contributions as well as a 5 % bonus (of annual salary) - my current workplace offers 1 % bonus and a profit sharing scheme but those two would amount to less than 5 % of the annual salary.
  23. I don't always succeed at catching them without being spotted. But then I can usually catch them with an Ultra Ball very early on in the fight. The later Alphas are much higher level, though, and here they need to be weakened a bit before catching.
  24. That character was a very interesting one - it's funny how he wasn't introduced earlier in the game. And there is no real resolution to his story (unless that happens in the post game content...). You'll soon meet my favorite person to hate in this game. Warden of the fourth lord. Terrible person, great comedy.
  25. I wish the story revolved more around that ancient civilasation there are traces of. It would have deepened the lore in the games and would be way more interesting than what was ultimately offered. Plus it wouldn't have to include time travel. It would also have been a natural way to include some puzzles and interaction with the world which I kind of miss a bit. The story and the universe are messy in the game. Some people just arrived two years prior, and you arrive being able to catch three Pokémon and is declared a prodigy and a master. Yet later on, you meet and battle people with more Pokémon than three, and who are clearly very capable. What happened to the Hisuian variations when the world turned into Sinnoh? Would have been nice with some explanation. How do they know the names of the Pokémon when you catch them if they haven't got any data on them in the first place? And who decided their number in the Pokedex? So yeah, credits rolled yesterday, and I then evolved a few Pokémon I had caught just to get them registered. I'll see if I can get a full catch Dex as that doesn't seem too time consuming and trivial. But what a journey, I thoroughly enjoyed the game and look forward to the post game content. I think I'll try to sum up my thoughts about what I want to carry over to the main games later on. I do not need a direct sequel for this game as I don't think that would work too well.
