Games you've forced yourself to play through!
MindFreak replied to nekunando's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Of recently played games, Alice: Madness Returns was a chore to just complete. It was just plain boring. Also, Rayman Legends was a bit of a chore in the end, trying to get the final achievement (Level 10 of awesomeness), and some of the Origins-levels were a bit boring after having played them before in Origins. -
Just ordered an LG G2 mobile phone So now I'm officially boarding the smartphone train.

Why do you keep weighing yourself, Yesteryear? Despite every one of us saying that you shouldn't weigh yourself more than once a week, and even then don't trust the result? Ooooon another note, my hip flexor's doing better, though it doesn't like squatting as much as I do. I can do reverse lunges, though, so I do that instead and deadlifting is no problem. However, the Crossfit Open Games are starting at the end of February and I would actually like to try them out now that I have a crossfit Box to train in. I feel I could do 'ok' in the Opens but since my hip is stopping me from doing Toes-2-bars (effectively at least, I can do some strict) and deep squatting, I believe it would be a bit silly of me to attend.

Indeed it does. I hope it's still worth getting on the 360 as I'd hate to wait too long for this. It looks very much like Dishonored (though it's probably the other way around) which is good. Loved that game.

Agreed. I expected a terrible episode which it wasn't right until the end. It even looked bad.

Found this beauty today: For the equivalent of £110 ! Also, ordered the Pro Controller from Amazon and New Super Mario Bros U from a Danish retailer.

Awesome! Looking forward to this! However, I liked the first costume better, even though this is the original.

Looks way better than the first!

What will they do with Mockingjay pt 2 now, I wonder?

I think perhaps Jesse Eisenberg is a bit too young for the role; someone around 40 would have been more ideal but I guess it could work as Superman is also young. Also, didn't expect Alfred to be in the movie altogether. However, I have no opinion about Jeremy Irons as I haven't seen a single film he's starred in.

They look a bit more like samurais than ninjas but whatever. They do look good. They look better than the movie will be, I think.

Luckily, I can still deadlift despite my bad hip flexor. Weigthed squats are no-go, at least above 20-30 kg but the hip strengthening exercises I've been doing are really doing wonders. I feel the improvements every day. Also, managed to do three double unders in a row the other day! I feel I'm getting the rythm little by little.

I think the Barney-drunk-episode was a bit too artificial but the reveals were good.

That was an amazing episode!

Yeah, the last episode was pretty nice!

Yeah, she's pretty useless. However, what could they do to her to make her more interesting? I find her dialogue boring and out of context mostly, and the chemistry between her and Oliver is somewhat lacking (we're all rooting for Oli and Felicity to hook up, right?). Giving her a more believable dialogue would help quite a lot, I think. I mean, the way she spoke to Sebastian and Oli in Ep12 was just.. what? And the inquiries she made were also quite off, so it hurt when noone really questioned her and her motives. Why was she also able to stay in Sebastian's office without anyone seeing her out?

Just to be sure:

Why weigh yourself? Use the mirror and stop thinking about pounds. --- My hip flexor hurts. Before Christmas, I had to stop for a week before going on vacation so in total I had three weeks rest. I didn't have problems when I returned but I could feel that I can't go as deep in my squats at the moment - so I don't. Yesterdya I had quite a lot of kettlebell swings and toes-2-bar and today my hip flexor has started aching a bit again. I believe I've overused it which sucks. So I decided to avoid KB swings for the next month or so and avoid doing anything that is too straining on the hips to see if this works. Also, I've found some strengthening exercises on the net that I'll do.

I just started book 2 (or well, 1/3 in now) so I believe I have to choose when the time comes - finish book 3.5 and then watch or watch and then finish the book while waiting between episodes. I don't really know what to do, I doubt that I could get past book 3.5 before season 4 starts.

I got mine at the age of six because I was basically blind - I rested my forehead on the paper when drawing because I could then see what I drew. This means that the glasses are HUGE, like… 1 cm thick in the middle and they make my eyes huge. I do not in any way look good with glasses. So at the age of 17 I turned to contacts. This was a great decision! I feel that I can do much more without worry, doing sports is easier, and I don't feel that I look (as) stupid anymore - I hated how people looked at me because my eyes were enormous, and I still hate that when I for some reason have to wear glasses in public. One minor thing about the contacts, though, is that in the evenings it gets harder to see because I get tired and thus my eyes get more dry, clouding my contacts. Furthermore, you always have to be prepared when you need to sleep. You need to have your stuff with you so you can't just crash at a friend's place if you hadn't anticipated it.

I wouldn't want to play this with the GamePad as I'd be afraid it'd break when I lose an important battle.

I see your point. But I can't see why it doesn't make sense to just count the total weight you are lifting. Then you could also just write "30 kg x 4 reps" in your training journal - surely that doesn't make any difference? Also, there are different sizes for bars - some are 10 kg, some are 15, while the standard bar is 20 kg. Furthermore, in the official competitions the bar is always counted.

Good work! Looks like a solid weight loss and muscle gain! I've been in South India for two weeks and took a break from training the week before that so I went to the gym today to do some nice and easy weight lifting - about 70 % of 1-2 RM in back squats, shoulder press, and deadlift. I did 6 sets of 8 reps in each of the three. That totally blew me away, I even got OMS (DOMS without delay…) in my inner thighs! But I decided that since I've gone down in most 1RM from April to now, I want to build it up again and will be doing heavy weights at least two times a week along with 3-4 times of crossfit to maintain my cardio. I went down to about 100 kg back squats, down from 127 kg, because I refined my technique - I've apparently been having a bit stripper arse when going up and to fix that I had to lower the weight. With deadlift, 130 kg is now my 1RM (140-ish in April) and my clean has gone down from 87.5 to 72 again. However, arms and shoulders are getting better so that's good. --- You always count the bar. I've never met anyone in fitness who'd not count the weight on the bar - you're lifting it as well as pratty said.

One month of waiting? Aw man!

Time-limited achievements shouldn't exist. What if the rumours about the Nordic countries getting the console in Q3 '14 are true, then they can't have them?
