And here's my lot. That kind of thing happened on three separate occasions!
-
Well, in the arcade one, it didn't matter which one you used for each input (As long as it was a single note), so I imagine that can still work here, thanks to having two sticks.
-
Gonna nip this in the bud right now. It's not a touch screen game. As I mentioned before, it's based on the arcade game, you can tell this because of the double notes, two inputs that you have to hit at the same time. There's also the double arrows, where you use the two control sticks to hit both of them at once. You wouldn't want touch screen compatibility on the Switch version anyway, that screen is far too imprecise for a game like this. The fact that it's not touch screen is likely the reason why PlayStation is getting it at all. I played the arcade game, and the biggest barrier was my muscle memory of the 3DS version. But once I started to unlearn that, it started to become much easier to handle. It works well enough. (Except the fourth purple difficulty option, that's just insanely difficult)

Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection (2023)
Glen-i replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Ah well, that's how they get around the version exclusive stuff then. Neat! -
Oh god, a third game set in that Hyrule? Surely, even the most diehard fan would get bored with that?

Player's Choice tonight at 8pm.

Octopath Traveler II (Switch, PS4/5, PC - 24th Feb 2023)
Glen-i replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Funny you mention that, because I had a read through the Press Kit, and it seems that each character has a few extra nuances to help make them more distinctive. For example, the Warrior? Well, he can can actually learn skills from NPCs he challenges! The guy is a mother effing Blue Mage! The other 7 don't get access to this, even if they were to use the Warrior Job as a secondary one! Meanwhile, the Dancer's skills get additional effects depending on which NPC she has allured. Some other details I gleamed from it... - As well as the unique skills I mentioned above, each of the 8 characters get a sort of "Limit Break". This guage gets built up by taking damage or breaking enemies. Which Limit Break you get depends on who uses it. Dancer, for example, can use it to make her dances affect the entire party for a while. - As hinted in the Direct, Field Actions change depending on the time of day. The Warrior can challenge NPC's during the day, but at night, this changes to Bribery, where you can pay them for information. - In response to the "These characters don't interact" criticism the first game got, there are optional side stories where two of the 8 characters join up for an adventure. - You could see this in the trailer, but the animation has gotten a lot more elaborate, with party members doing far more acrobatic feats, and enemies having actual attack animation. Can I have this game now, please? I need it! -
NINTENDO DIRECT (13/09/22, 3pm UK time - not released until 4pm in UK)

Uhhhh... Isn't that funded by Nintendo? You know, like Bayo 2? I wouldn't get your hopes up there. -
Crisis Core –Final Fantasy VII– Reunion (13th December 2022)
Glen-i replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Wait, wait. So the implication here is that Square couldn't be bothered to tweak Cloud's Remake render for that? Because that's hilarious! -

Except that that's been the profile icon they use in every single NSO trailer? It's nothing. -
I'm hoping for Octopath Traveler II music, I've not heard any of the songs, but I don't care. I know it'll be great! Anyway, I spotted Red XIII, Mog, and even Mystery Dungeon's Choco in there. So there's new characters as well.

Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy Curtain Call (3DS)
Glen-i replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Oh right. I forgot about the penultimate final boss song... I'd say this means I need to boot up Curtain Call again, but I'm gonna have to resist now. -
Tales of Symphonia Remastered (Switch, PS4, Xbox - 2023)
Glen-i replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Every port after the initial release has been based on the PS2 version, which was 30 FPS, and it's infuriating! -
Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack: N64 & SEGA Mega Drive (& GBA!!)
Glen-i replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Theoretically, it's possible. But if that were the case, I feel like they would've shown that. The disclaimer saying Pokémon can't be transferred doesn't fill me with confidence. -
Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy Curtain Call (3DS)
Glen-i replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Yeah, you really lucked out there. Glad you didn't get screwed. That said, the Bravely Default songs are weirdly absent from the PR for Final Bar Line. Doesn't mean they won't be in, but those three songs are ones to keep an eye on. -
So, that picture with Toothpaste girl was real? Hilarious! Nice to get a new Smash character reveal!

Crisis Core –Final Fantasy VII– Reunion (13th December 2022)

Thankfully, no. I'd say I hope they learned their lesson after Kingdom Hearts, but this is Square, so who knows? -
Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe (24th Feb 2023)
Glen-i replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
It's honestly up there with Planet Robobot as one of the best Kirby titles. That trailer makes me laugh though. "And now, everyone can play as Kirby!" That's not a new feature, that was in the original game! -
No way to know. ResetEra are naturally saying it's all Ninty's fault. It's not that, because as long as Ninty got Goldeneye 007 on NSO, they wouldn't care what Microsoft did. And again, the Ninty version isn't adding online to it, it's just baked into the emulator. I could have three other people watch me play Banjo-Kazooie online, that doesn't mean it has online features added.
-
Apparently, it doesn't support online play? Is that true? Because if so, that's certainly a hilarious choice! Guess Ninty have to have something. EDIT: Big lol at the whining going on at ResetEra, so many people conveniently ignoring online multiplayer is baked into the NSO emulator.

Octopath Traveler II (Switch, PS4/5, PC - 24th Feb 2023)

Awww yeah! That mobile gacha prequel can suck it! All in for more job based, "4 slots is not enough" shenanigans! -
Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe (24th Feb 2023)
Glen-i replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Brand new game, despite being called Kirby's Adventure Wii over here. -
Oh wow, I didn't even cop on to that! The UK no-show makes a lot more sense now!

Three digital versions. Only one physical. I suppose I might as well go all in. Here's what to expect from the Season Passes. Not enough Octopath Traveler music, but it's more then the arcade game has, so it's an improvement. I wonder if the vague "Chrono pack" means that we'll get some Chrono Cross music as well. The lack of Bravely Default music concerns me though. I hope those songs didn't get cut. They're in Curtain Call... Of course, it could be in the last two packs, or in the Deluxe edition, but then, why keep that secret?
