I imagine that's the total sales of every copy of Bayo 1 and 2, including re-releases.

You mean Luigi, the character who appeared in a ridiculous amount of genres before ever showing up in a horror inspired game? Hell, Luigi's Mansion's not even the first time he was in a starring role! He's too associated with all sorts of games to really be classed as a horror based character, even a comedic one. If there was a Gooigi costume, then there'd no question in my mind. Greninja and Incineroar are both Dark type Pokémon, which admittedly isn't the most concrete of reasons. At least Dark Pit has the whole "literal evil doppelganger" thing going on. But the thing of note is that "Dark Type" in Pokémon is an English localisation change. In the Japanese games, that type is literally called "Evil Type". A bit on the nose, but if the King of Evil is allowed, then I have to allow them two as well.

Am I gonna have to wait almost 9 years for the payoff to that reference?

You lot have me intrigued now, I've started playing that recently to get me hyped for Bayonetta. It's weird, good weird, but weird.
-
Oh, well, if that's the case. Then I can't put them in.

OK, the first point, I concede. I totally spaced on the Dark Link costumes. EDIT: I'll try to change the character picture, but just in case, I listed the Links in the above post. Ashen Demon (Byleth), however, is a bit more iffy. Isn't that just a nickname based on how powerful and infamous they are? They're not exactly "Evil" per say. Well, as far as a war setting like Fire Emblem can go. I feel it's more ambigious compared to the likes of Ganondorf and Ridley. You know what? It's not completely fair that I dictate it, seeing as I've not played Three Houses, so I don't have a full understanding of that situation. So I'm gonna hit up other Fire Emblem nut, @Jonnas, to be the deciding voice here. So how about it? Do you think Byleth should go into this pool of characters? And if you need to explain spoilers, then I don't mind. Just use spoiler tags.

Wouldn't you get the gold points the moment you buy the vouchers in that case? -

It's time for a theme night, and well, it'd be downright ghoulish of me not to do an obvious spooky month theme! What a Horrible Night to Have a Smash When you think about it, Smash has quite a diverse range of horror related characters, intentional or otherwise. Whether it be a bipedal wolf man, mutant crocodiles, witches, xenomorph rip-offs, people who sold their souls to the devil, or Nintendo's answer to "Little Shop of Horrors", there's something for everyone! Of course, it all pales in comparison to gaming's one true nightmare, crafting mechanics, but they try. And I think we can all agree that it'd be downright disrespectful not to include the Belmonts tonight. There are costume restrictions tonight: Link, Young Link, Toon Link - Dark Link costumes only Steve - Zombie and Enderman only Stages are mostly ones where it's nighttime, or in a spooky, dimly lit cave. Items are quite limited this week, of note is the Poison Mushroom being the only mushroom, which doesn't leave mush room for doubt on whether you should avoid it. Format: 3 Stock FS Meter: On See you at 8pm tonight.

PC is an option.

Looks nice, but I don't enjoy RE4 for the horror, so I'm super out. Why can't I just have a HD port with the Wii controls!?

Some really strange Red Shell malfunctions tonight. And this was just funny. Nobody wins! Except @S.C.G.

Player's Choice tonight at 8pm.

What the hell's a Vita? Some kind of mobile phone? Anyway, back to playing Cyber Sleuth on my portable console.

Much like the Xenoblade 2 character she's based on, Ino has the potential to be one of the most effective heroes. Which makes it such a shame that she struggles with holding aggro so much. If one of the main six has an aggro building Defender setup, she just can't keep up, which is a problem when her main shtick is getting stronger each time she revives. But those Inoswap stat boosts are so handy for a character you can't change the equipment of! A real dilemma!

Naturally, @BowserBasher's birthday is why there were so many Party Ball mishaps tonight. It's the only explanation. Biggest upset for me was @Ike sniping me with a Super Scope and stealing my Stylish Sora Stamina finish! Was so close!
-
Woops, almost forgot to mention. Stamina matches tonight at 8pm.

Wait, in theory. Wouldn't Jennifer Hale, Bayo's new voice, command far more money due to being far more well known? I thought it was a MGSV situation when her replacement was revealed, but this is just odd. Seems very bizarre to ditch someone because you didn't want to pay them anything more then peanuts, only to then hire someone more expensive. Still sucks for Hellena, she was perfect in the first two games and Smash.

Yep, it's a new Pokémon. It's called Bellibolt, classified as the EleFrog Pokémon. Getting mad Palpitoad vibes from this. If it evolves into anything as cool as Seismitoad, then I'm all for it. Greninja's hopes of getting into a mainline Pokémon game on Switch just got narrower. EDIT: Artwork It's Electric type and has a new ability called Electromorphosis. It raises the power of it's next Electric attack whenever it's hit by any attack. I assume it's like a free Charge, so I also assume it'll reset once that Electric attack is used.

Very odd night for me.

That'll teach @Dufniall to put effort into typing a post!

The battle system. If they changed that for the worse, that would probably be the moment I drop it. And I don't mean things like removing Mega Evolution, which I do lament, I mean big changes. Say what you will about Pokémon, but as far as monster collecting RPG's go, none have managed to get close to the balance of low skill level required and incredible depth that the modern games have. The sheer amount of options you have mean that no team setup is ever going to be the best one. Which is the biggest reason why I disliked Legends: Arceus and Let's GO. These two games strip back key features and change fundamental mechanics to simplify the battle system and end up with a couple of games where battling is discouraged. Legends in particular was actually offensive to me. No abilities, making Pokémon with the same type feel redundant, a drastically cut moveset with a lot of those moves tweaked to be the same as other moves. The EV system changed to that god awful candy system, which strips away any chance of training a Pokémon to fulfill a specific role. (Why focus on one or two stats, when you can just max out everything with no downsides?) And status moves are mostly worthless, as well. And then there's the switch to a more reactive combat system. Having turn order play out like it does in Final Fantasy X or Octopath Traveler is fine if your game is built around that, but Pokémon battles work so well because each person issues a command at the same time, leaving many opportunities for a skilled player to predict their opponent and gain momentum with a well timed switch or unexpected move. In Legends, you can't do anything to stop your opponent once it's their turn, so it just devolves into revenge killing. There's no nuance to it. It says a lot when you can trade Pokémon in that game, but you can't battle other players. So yeah, I can deal with most crap, if it means the battles are still top notch, because nobody does it better.

I mean, he's fine. There are definitely worse out there. But like @Dcubed said, it's the unnecessary cameos in games where it makes little sense that concerns me. "Ariana Grande is my favourite Final Fantasy character" is something someone can say and actually be telling the truth, and that's terrible. What's more concerning is that because of the appeal of open worlds and the Switch Effect, this game is likely going to sell insane numbers! Much like Sword/Shield did. And while I do think that's a solid game, it's no coincidence that we haven't had a game with a full National Dex since. The sales numbers don't lie, Game Freak figured they can get away with only having a selection of Pokémon. EDIT: BTW, another "stream" from Iono is happening tomorrow at 2pm. Likely we'll see a new Pokémon or regional variant here.
