Great! I suck at Tetris and I utterly blow at Puyo Puyo. You guys are going to see magical things if you play me online. I will make the impossible happen. Suckage and Blowage simultaneously!

Ah, bugger. You edited...

Wow, @Clownferret. That was way harsh. Flip side, I think I ruined the experience for myself by not rushing through it. If I played it like a casual Zelda playthrough, (Making a beeline for each dungeon and doing any side stuff I stumbled upon along the way) I might have enjoyed it a bit more. Only a bit, mind. There are more than a few issues I have with BOTW.

Gonna wait until a bit closer to the actual vote before committing an answer to the poll here. Right now, it's Labour. It's how I voted last time and I see no reason to change it yet.

Hold up! Marle can't use Fire spells! LIES! Chrono Trigger is a SNES JRPG that released in America in 1995. It never got released over in Europe. Even when it got released on the Playstation 4 years later. (might have to re-read that sentence) It wouldn't be until the DS port in 2009 that most Europeans got a chance to play it. But sound issues and a... questionable re-translation might have put off some purists. Luckily, in 2011, it got released on the Wii's Virtual Console, and that's the version I played this time. The game follows a guy called Crono (Not a typo, that's how it's actually spelt) who lives in the year 1000 AD. He wakes up one morning and goes to the nearby Millennial Fair. Naturally, this causes the apocalypse. OK, yeah, there's more to it than that. But I'd rather not go into much more detail than that. Chrono Trigger's story is remarkably well-paced, well thought out and hosts a remarkable amount of "What if?" scenarios and even a few philosophical conversations. Which you wouldn't expect from a 90's SNES game. Helps that the characters are interesting as well. Well, apart from Crono himself, who is so silent, Isaac from Golden Sun thinks he needs to project more. The gameplay is quite similar to the Final Fantasy games from the same console. Following the ATB system those games utilized. I'm not explaining it again. I'm sure you've read my Final Fantasy IX write-up, and if not. That's your fault. It's on page 4 here. I'll wait. The key differences here are that battles don't take place in a separate screen, that's kinda hard to explain... Basically, once this battle is over, you go back to exploring this room. It's cool having no transitions in between battles. Keeps the game flowing nicely. Another difference is that some attacks depend on where enemies are positioned. For example, one of Crono's attacks involve him spinning his sword around to hit an enemy. Normally, this hits one enemy, but if any other enemies are nearby, they get hit as well. It's a small thing that promotes some planning and observation. The main defining mechanic are Dual Techs. What this boils down to is having two of your party members use their moves in unison. This does require both characters to be ready to attack at the same time, and it will use up both of their turns, so while they may be powerful, it might just screw you over if you're not paying attention and suddenly realise you've used up your healer's turn right when someone is about to cop it. There's even some Triple Techs that involve all 3 members of your current party. And they all change depending on your current setup. So there's plenty of options when it comes to strategy. That said, outside of a few battles, the game doesn't get too difficult. It's a pretty easy-going RPG. With most of the challenge coming from what the player self-imposes on themself. This game is probably the best-known example of the "New Game +" You know, that feature that lets you use a finished save file to start a new game while carrying over stuff from the finished file. It's required to get some of the game's multiple endings. Which one you get depends on exactly when you decide to face the Final Boss. Seriously, you can go fight the Final Boss about 4-5 hours into the game. (And if you're playing New Game +, you can get there in about a minute) This adds a hell of a lot of replayability. There are some pretty weird things that can happen because you get impatient. The visuals are very nice. Sprites are full of life, from Marle's impossible High School Musical Jump, to the variety of Dual Techs that some people will try out just to see what they look like. I know I did. The sound is top-notch. From the meaty sound effects, (Luminaire comes to mind) to the absolutely amazing soundtrack. It was a Youtube video about how much the music of this game adds to the atmosphere that got me to play it again. Chrono Trigger is a game that pops up on a lot of 90's gamer's top 10's. Especially when it comes to RPG's from that era. And for good reason. It's a game that... Yep, I'm going there... stands the test of time. Go ahead and shoot me now. If you can, give it a go. Whether it be the original SNES version or the DS one, or even the PlayStation one... Actually, given the loading times, might want to use that as a last resort... And with that...

Honestly, after playing a certain WiiU game, I'm not surprised at that shirt one bit.

NO! Demon Puns! Demon Puns everywhere! I played Demon's Crest when it released on the WiiU VC and I loved it. Which is impressive, considering I'm not a fan of the Ghouls N Ghosts games. What with @Dcubed starting it (Finally) and reading your review, I'm really tempted to get it on 3DS and go for the golden ending this time.

Uh-huh, one Switch exclusive, one WiiU game and an updated port. That must have been hard to pull off. Why compete against yourself on your brand new console's first Christmas? Then again, maybe they're banking on scalpers to buy them all.

You mean Christmas? Christmas this year? The same year that the Switch came out? Riiiiiiiight.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch

The more I read about people's impressions of the game after seeing the credits, the more I dread the inevitable write-up I'm gonna do in the Gaming Diary. It might end up as more of a debacle than my Final Fantasy 8 one. -

Actually, this happened to me loads. The weapon doesn't matter. If you hit a Guardian in the right spot (not sure where exactly) you can make it fire a shot. I once killed another Guardian using this trick. -
TBH, anything with the FTP setup is a big massive turn-off for me. It's a shame, because I loved the mini-game in Planet Robobot. I suppose I'll give it a chance. Maybe I could convince @Dcubed and his sister to have a bash with me.

Waiting? Pulling off a Flurry rush/Laser Deflection gives you an attack opportunity, even during the second part of the Calamity Ganon fight. -

Armour is more valuable than Heart Containers in the long run. I'd look for Great Fairy Fountains and start saving up those rupees and materials. Of course, Heart Containers never hurt. -

Master Sword is a great Guardian Killer. Makes mincemeat out of them. It mostly depends on the order you do them and when you do them. But personally... Camel is way harder than the others. Lizard is harder than Elephant. Elephant is harder than Bird. Camel boss is just far more unforgiving than the others. You need to learn Shield Parry and Flurry Rush to beat it reliably. Not to mention, electric attacks hurt like hell. -
Yeah, I suppose if that's how it was on the DS... So, anyway... Hardy nature only? That sucks.

Yup, those bosses do not like the Master Sword. Considering their names, it should be obvious to anyone who knows the Master Sword basics in Zelda Games. -
Maybe it's just me, but I'm finding it hard to believe that Xenoblade 2 will make it to this year.

You can be the biggest tease sometimes. There's me going to your site, surprised it came out so soon. It hasn't. You and your stupid Japanese 3DS. I wonder how Switch will handle future Mystery Gift distributions?

So DCubed's got his PDF Instruction Booklet for this. I've read through it. Had no idea that pressing the D-Pad makes Yooka and Laylee emote. It also includes some concept art. Including Yooka's original design, where he's a Tiger. Although, it was deemed 'Too Heroic'. Also, Trowzer's entire section in the Art Gallery consists of one post-it note. EDIT: I like the nonsense voices. Kids these days, with their 'full voice acting' and their 'non-grating' sound effects... I mean, you can press A to make the text appear instantly and stop the current voice, but pressing a button is just too much effort!

I've visited two worlds now. That second world is gorgeous. Someone show it to @Hero\-of\-Time on all accounts. Which means this game has performed miracles in making a game we might both like. Anyway, it's Banjo-Threeie, but with a Chameleon as the main star. So I like it even more on that regard. EDIT: Forgot to mention, this game is really nailing the humour. It didn't take long for me to start chuckling at Yooka's book in the intro. He blatantly didn't read it. About 30 seconds later, I stumbled on to the name of their ship.

Don't give me that like I don't visit your website daily. You know I already know. Tell me, does anyone actually use Pikachu's normal Z-Move? Without a Light Ball, Pikachu is pointless, without point, point minus point, point deficient! Also, Alolan Raichu's Z-Move is more useful.
