Mate, come on. That's some proper exaggeration right there, and I mostly agree with you about NSMB Wii being on the more difficult side of Mario Platformers. But now that you mention it, Lost Levels and NSMB Wii are really great examples of frustrating and fair, respectively.

Friend Codes, Fruit, Trading and Photo Thread For Animal Crossing
Glen-i replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Yeah, people can come around and buy one (Provided they haven't already bought something from Redd the same day). -
Lucky you. I've received 4 paintings from my villagers and they've all been fake. Island full of crooks. I suppose when your island is 30% Crocodile, you shouldn't expect much. I suppose you could say that they're Krookodiles... Pokémon Pun!

See, to me, that smacks of "moving the goalposts" I just don't believe that Nintendo will remaster 4 Mario games in quick succession. And even if they do, you're bonkers if you think they're all being bundled together. I just get a vague "Star Fox Grand Prix" vibe from this rumour.

I quickly realised that the key to memorising the Ice Vellumental's gimmick is to focus on what panels Mario needs to walk over to get to where you need to go. Because there's only one correct path, it's shown to you before the shuffle and that the boss never slides panels, only rotates them, it's quite easy to realise what you need to do. It's strangely the least RNG based of all the bosses because of that. It's just overwhelming at first because it seems more complex than it is.

I'll take @S.C.G's "thanks" reaction to the above post as confirmation of the results then. I'll update the table on Thursday and reveal the next set of games as well.

Yep, bad camera is definitely one of the worst offenders of frustration. You know what frustrates me the most in RPG's? Enemies that scale to your level. One of the many, many, many reasons Final Fantasy VIII sucks is because enemies level up alongside you. And their stats go up at a faster rate than Squall and friends. Congrats, you've just made the game 100 times harder! It's such an unrewarding feeling, knowing the work you've put into getting stronger is detrimental to your success. The most efficient way to play FF8 is to run from everything, stay at Level 1, and get your stat boosts from the junction system, which provide flat boosts that let you decimate bosses. Skyrim does this in a frustrating way as well. You can totally screw yourself if you're unaware of the way enemies scale. Also, it's a boring open world game, but that's not for here. Of course, with most things, there tends to be an exception. And that exception is Octopath Traveler, which uses Level Scaling in a much better way. In that game, enemies rise in level as you recruit more party members and finish more chapters. So leveling up doesn't inadvertently make enemies harder, progress in the story does. There's also a cap to how strong the enemies can get, no matter how far you are in the story, the random encounters in the first chapter areas will still be balanced around a Level 11 party. EDIT: @Josh64, I imagine the key change with Mario Kart 8 in item distribution might be what you're feeling. You see, in 8, it's the physical distance between 1st place and everyone else that determines what items you get. So even 2nd place can get great items if they're really far behind 1st place.

I think the problem is that they're trying to remain too faithful to the original Mega Drive animations and it just looks odd and stiff on a 3D Model. Take the third game remake that Lizard Cube did. Similar physics, but you can tell they put in effort to add some more movement to the characters. Of course, hand drawn sprites trump 3D models any day, but some flourish in the animations could go a long way to make it look better. Also, why do these modern Wonder Boy games keep changing the studio who makes them? You already have two great modernised games for the series and Sega still decide to try a different team? Weird.

Can't believe I won Renegade! I'm awful at Renegade. But yeah, just to confirm. @viceview51 won Dots and Boxes and Four in a Row, while I won Renegade. Once @S.C.G and @drahkon have their games, I'll update the table. It might have to be next Thursday depending on when they can.

Did I seriously just get the EXP X100 multiplier twice in less than half an hour on Octopath Traveler!? Therion is on Level 73 now and I haven't even finished chapter 3 yet! I love how much you can break this game! You can definitely tell the people who made Bravely Default worked on this.

OK, @viceview51. Prepare to get owned on Dots and Boxes tonight at 8pm!

It's probably because these events never have a Legend Spirit while the DLC packs always have one. I'm currently going through the Spirit List and doing the rematches. It's neat, because you don't get a lot of points if you use your strongest teams. So you have to level the playing field by using weaker teams to get those high scores. Even some of the 1-star ones are tough when you go in with no spirit team. Unfortunately, there's still no way to quickly rematch the bosses...

Spirit event is live, @markderoos. The Olivia fight was fun. So many Bobbys!

Super Mario Maker 2 challenge - June challenge has started!
Glen-i replied to Sméagol's topic in Nintendo Gaming
That means we have a draw between @Sméagol and @Dcubed. I suggest that the one person who didn't vote for either of them should be the person who breaks the tie. -

@Sméagol, you still haven't voted and we're almost at the end of the month. -
Still a rumour.

OK, @Tales. I'm ready now. -
Ah, Great Smash Ball, the ultimate equaliser! Fun games, guys. Proper party going on at one point!

It does seem to be the only one that's causing issues. Maybe it's just how Custom Stages are, what with 7 people seeing the action.

Sorry, started Smash night. Won't be able to make it. -
Damn, @S.C.G That Shulk finish was spectacular! We've never had 7 people before. Bottom 2 drop out doesn't feel as fluid now. I love it!
