  1. Get the feeling @Dcubed might be interested in this.
  2. If @will' knows what's good for him, he'll capitilse it. Poor grammar in usernames makes you look slightly incompetent.
  3. Also, it's an apostrophe, not a comma.
  4. After would be better. Can you make 7pm tomorrow (UK) for clubhouse games?
  5. Right, Laptop is commandeered at the mo, so a basic post from my phone. Will make it look better once I get the laptop. This week's games: Toy Tennis, Toy Football, Toy Curling Each game will be played 3 times, except Toy Tennis, which will only be played once. Bracketing: @Glen-i VS @drahkon @viceview51 VS @S.C.G Toy Tennis Rules: "Play 3-Game Match" format Toy Football Rules: N/A Toy Curling Rules: First Move - Random
  6. OK, @drahkon Bowser needs a good punch. When will you be free to play this week?
  7. I'm getting vague flashbacks to that E3 demonstration of Hyrule Warriors where I was still kind of skeptical. But then they showed the whole Palace of Twilight mission and I realised that the game might actually be more about choosing when and where to fight rather than button mashing your way through everything. And then Argorok got smacked with the moon and I was sold.
  8. I got sleepy!
  9. So I've been thinking about this game a lot in the past 24 hours. Mostly about the "Wide variety of characters" that was mentioned. I get that the main plot of this revolves around 100 years before BotW. Naturally, the 6 characters on the box art will be the ones that feature the most in the plot. But I hope there's a side mode (Like the Adventure Mode in the original game) that lets Koei Tecmo not worry about canon and include some characters that couldn't possibly be alive back then. In other words, give me the ability to unlock the only BotW character I really like and I'll be a lot happier. Don't argue. I'm right. You all want to beat things up with an accordion. No-one likes that Falco rip-off anyway.
  10. OK, open now. It went quicker than I thought.
  11. Press ZR on the menu, go to help, and then Techniques. Bunch of explanations on various techniques, along with short clips demonstrating them.
  12. Oh right, forgot about this. Won't be able to open up until 9:30-ish. But it'll be Time format. Hope you guys have checked a look at the Techniques section.
  13. Mine are around 171 now, so I can open my town after Mario Kart if you want
  14. Right, 7 games down, here's the table. The next set of games will be up later on today.
  15. Next League Night: Tonight 8pm Room 1: @BowserBasher is host @Glen-i - Hilary @BowserBasher - Will (Maybe) @viceview51 - Carlton @Jayesse - Uncle Phil @martinist - Jazz @S.C.G
  16. Yeah, it's a pretty divisive game. The stories are a lot more grounded than your typical JRPG. But I kinda found it refreshing in that regard. Chances are that you fight some other person at the end of each chapter. It does have it's noticeable shortcomings. The main ones for most people being that characters have almost no input on stories if it's not their own. I hate the term "immersion breaking" when it comes to games, but even I had to question that when one character got stabbed and left for dead during their plot and none of the 3 party members with them thought "Hey, maybe we should help?" The dungeons are also pretty basic, and each chapter is structured in very similar ways. Get to town, "Oh no, something has gone wrong!", go through dungeon, fight boss, move on to next town" For me, these negatives are massively outweighed by the positives! The visuals are gorgeous and the soundtrack is nothing short of a masterpiece. But the battle mechanics are what carry the game for me. Shouldn't be surprising given that some of the Bravely Default Devs worked on this, but the Break and Boost system really add strategy to fights, even the random encounters. I'm going through Chapter 4 at the moment. The bosses here are great. They all have their own little twist that force you to adapt or face a painful and quick death. (For example, there's one that prevents magic until their shield points are broken, and one where they have to be hit 30 times to be broken, but they're weak to almost every weapon, meaning it's a desperate race to use multi-hit moves before you get clobbered) The Job system is a lot of fun. Not quite as flexible as Bravely Default. Each character has a predetermined job they can't change, but in Chapter 2, you unlock the ability to equip secondary jobs, allowing you to mix and match jobs for all sorts of strategies. And there's some really fun combinations that feel just a little broken if you figure it out. But in a good way. So yeah, it's a solid RPG if you focus on the actual battling aspect. If you want a sweeping epic plot though, maybe look elsewhere. (The optional boss you can fight after clearing all eight stories is crazy difficult though, grinding to level 99 ain't saving you there. Super satisfying when I beat it on my first playthrough)
  17. Unlike all the Links, Linkle has her own unique name, so she didn't need me to name her. (Also, not actually a Link, she thinks she's the Hero, but she isn't aware that Link is around, doing his business.) I know I shouldn't expect Koei Tecmo to reuse a lot of characters from the original game, but I hope they keep Linkle around. She was a fun character in being the polar opposite of Link. Boisterous, talkative, rubbish sense of direction and loves Cuccoos.
  18. Super Metroid is a great game hampered by dated controls. Zero Mission is better.
  19. 1) Right now, I'm playing Octopath Traveler. Apart from daily Animal Crossing stuff, of course. Getting towards the end of that. Some of the bosses on that are just brilliant. Especially the Chapter 4 ones. 2) The one I'm most looking forward to is Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. More for the Hyrule Warriors aspect than the BotW focus. 3) Yep, getting a digital one. 4) Mario Sunshine, more from necessity for the N-E review.
  20. I mean, you've heard the original's remixes, fits quite well. I'm glad you asked.
  21. Poor Galaxy 2...
  22. Nope, Choo-choo Link is Windy Link's Descendant. There is one Link who has appeared in 3 main games. Possibly 4, depending on how you look at it. This Link (Sleepy Link, I call him) is the star of Link to the Past, Link's Awakening and the two Oracle games.
  23. Not the characters, sure. (Although I'm sure there'll be a few unexpected additions there. That little scientist girl could bring some mech style fighting for starters.) BotW totally has some silliness to it that could make for some fun weapons. @Dcubed just suggested to me that the Master Cycle is fair game for this. A motorcycle as a weapon is bound to be hilarious.
  24. I'm sorry, WHAT!? BotW prequel more exciting than BotW Sequel! I always knew it was. The first game is the only way to make BotW make sense in the timeline! I did feel it was a missed trick that the Switch version of the first game didn't use the Sheikah Slate or the Champions for some new movesets and now I know why! Definitely looking forward to this! Hoping to see some really bonkers weapons from this. (And get some Oracles or Minish Cap characters in there, go on. You know it makes sense)
  25. You do realise this means I could just post "BEWARE! Ceiling Chomps!" and it would be completely valid for this, don't you? For the sake of fair play though, I won't reuse a level I did on the WiiU. (That level is going in my Super World anyway)
