  1. Ah, you tricky git! You counted on people assuming it was a 7, didn't you? Well played.
  2. Just keep this image open on your phone? Speaking of, new page, so for convenience sakes.
  3. Nah, it's OK, I can do it. Now that I don't have to keep track of screenshots and scores, I'm more free to host.
  4. Mine are 178 right now, if you're desperate.
  5. For the run up to this game's long overdue release. The developers have given us a sneak peek behind the creation of Ultra Deluxe with the Helpful Development Showcase! The first of three blog posts that will no doubt make you a master of game development!
  6. N-Europe Review
  7. Next Session: Tonight 8pm With the first wave, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe finally has enough tracks from the portable entries to fill up an entire night's worth of races! 4 for each GP! OK, 3DS had to be awkward and have 5 tracks, but the fifth was Toad Circuit, so I got rid of that. Nothing of value was lost. So there you have it, Portable Night. Play while sitting on a moving toilet for that authentic Mario Kart DS advert experience!
  8. N-Europe Review Thanks to @S.C.G, for getting it up, @Jonnas for proofreading, as well as a couple of caption suggestions, and @RedShell for the site graphics.
  9. Yeah, it is. And it'll definitely be in this one. GameCube one had it to, complete with the taunt actually floating across the screen for that extra annoying factor. They dropped it once online play became a thing, I think you can guess why. BTW, I just found out that the Japanese version has one less character then the other versions. That's kinda mad to think about. Granted, it's just a palette swap of Mario, but still. Wonder what made them decide to add another unlockable character? To be honest, I'd argue the Japanese got it good there. Metal Mario sucks (curves way too much, and god help you if you don't nail the last A press perfectly!), and is not worth the effort of getting every Birdie Badge. (Even more funny when you realise you get Maple for getting around half of them and she's way better!)
  10. See, Mario Tennis at least makes sense, but I wouldn't be satisfied unless Kid is my ideal setup of straight shooting, perfect meet point, average shot height, and somehow still driving further then Wario! Anyway, it's a moot point, because that would make SP versions actually cool, and we can't have that. Maple is already pretty broken, so I don't mind settling. EDIT: Also, how weird is it that DK and Bowser are there on the box art, but they're two of the final four unlockable characters? (The one's that not even multiplayer lets you play as straight away)
  11. How would that even work? The GBC character stats are crazy customisable.
  12. I found the second mini-game tougher.
  13. The fundamental flaw with FFVIII is that the game actively punishes you for leveling up though. The combination of the stats you get from junctioning being a flat value instead of a cumulative one combined with enemies scaling with your level means that the most effective way of playing the game is to stay at Level 1 by getting a particular ability to stop all random encounters. Pity I learned that after I finished it. Because the game never tells you that, and you need a guide to pull it off right. It's a great example of an experimental mechanic needing more thought to it. Anyway, Chrono Cross seems to work like FF XIII, you level up stats from fighting normal enemies, until the game arbitrarily decides "Nah, you're not bumping them up anymore until you beat this boss." I think I just talked myself out of buying it when it goes on sale. I'll just play Radical Dreamers on @Dcubed's Switch.
  14. I always appreciate the option. If I find something too difficult in an RPG, I prefer to have a get out clause if I get desperate. There's a reason Final Fantasy 8 and 13 blows. OK, there's many, but that's a big one. With how confusing Chrono Cross is, that's even more reason!
  15. Oh right, I forgot about that. I knew there were more reasons for me not liking it...
  16. Xenoblade may be the best of the Rainfall trio, but Last Story is defo the most underrated. Great little game. Gonna just hijack that post... Back at Christmas, I got quite a bit of eShop credit, and you'll remember that there was a bonkers sale on the eShop. So I've got a few on my backlog. (I even made a group for them, so I know they're there) I've got NEO: The World Ends With You (which I'm currently playing), Grandia HD Collection, Shin Megami Tensei III HD, Nexomon, and that Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth double pack.
  17. You ever laugh so hard, you gave yourself a bit of a headache afterwards? Yeah, that's me now. How did I get killed by a balloon!?
  18. You see, I've tried playing Chrono Cross and it has one of the most convoluted and baffling battle systems I've seen in an RPG. No idea what I was doing. But, I wanna give it another chance. (Plus, localised Radical Dreamers is legit cool) But not full price chance, so I'll likely wait for a sale before jumping.
  19. No, I don't think there is.
  20. Right! I'm back! ...Stop groaning! Long overdue a theme night, aren't we? Last time, I utilised @BowserBasher's suggestion and named it "Guns! Guns! Guns!" Well, I'm sorry to say that it was all just a ploy so I could make the following stupid HIMYM reference. I present to you... Boats! Boats! Boats! Each character here has been the pilot of some kind of boat in their gaming career. For the sake of clarity, when I say "Boat", I mean any vehicle designed to travel over water. And merely being a passenger on a boat doesn't count. They're not pictured here, but all 3 Mii Fighters are also allowed. There are some costume restrictions in place: Bowser Jr. - None of the Koopalings are allowed. Hero - The DQ11 Hero is not allowed. (That's the default style) Steve - Steve and Alex are allowed, but Zombie and Enderman are not. The stages here consist of those that have water the player can touch, or include boats somehow. For the sake of diversifying the selection more, I allowed spaceships and airships to influence the stage choice here. The picture above doesn't have Midgar or Paper Mario selected. I overlooked that, but they're selected now. I just can't be bothered reuploading the picture. Items are the standard set. Format: Time, 4 minutes FS Meter: Off Session starts tonight at 8pm.
  21. Ever since Super Star Ultra introduced the concept of difficult optional boss rushes, I've loved chasing records on them. Best thing about modern Kirby games!
  22. Well, there are console versions for the big three coming out if all else fails. Really looking forward to the nonsense hiding in this version!
  23. The Mystery Gift event for the Members Card (which activates the Darkrai event) is available now. You have until the 30th of April to get it.
