Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition (Out Now!)
Glen-i replied to darksnowman's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Come on, man. Having options for original or arranged soundtracks is standard remaster fare at this point! You bother to include an option for original font, but not music!? Priorities! -
No, you don't need to. The initial one was me gauging the interest and deciding if we'd need 2 separate rooms or not The only thing I ask is that you try and make it before 8pm if you are taking part, and if you are going to be a little late (like, 5 minutes or so), then you give us a heads-up so I can try and wait for you. Within reason though, if you're gonna take longer then 5 minutes past the start time, then I'll just start the session and you can just jump in whenever you're ready.

Registration for the next online competition is live. Anyone who enters and completes 3 battles, win or lose, will get a Shiny Galarian Moltres. The format, once again, is current VGC rules. Doubles format with up to 2 normally restricted Pokémon allowed. Registration closes on the 15th of April, the actual battles start then.

Right, tonight at 8pm, Player's Choice. I'll be able to host again now. Room will open at around 7:45pm.

That release date is so perfect! Day 1 for that. Stanley Parable is an absolute hilarious gem!

You know, if the subtitle is some kind of variation of "Breath of...", I will groan so hard, I might just bust a vocal chord. A Link Between Worlds got away with it because there had been a lot of Zelda games between that and ALttP, but there's no room for doubt on what this game is, so it really doesn't need that clarification. What I'm saying is, Ninty may have let me down on the direction of it, but I expect a decent subtitle at least!

Yeah, I had a feeling your opinion on it would turn around, @drahkon.
-
Not the original Goddess Blade. That was in the sky when Link found it. Now that doesn't confirm it was made there, but it's a possibility. Maybe the Master Sword won't suck in this game? I hope so, finally getting it and realising it was 30 power and still "broke" was a massive let-down. Ironically, it was a lot more useful in AoC. Which is funny, because it kinda sucked in the original Hyrule Warriors.

You can always whack the difficulty down just so you can get through it quicker.
-
Yeah. I'm gonna have to ground you for that.

I recently looked up what the deal with this game is, and yeah, it's certainly an interesting game, I'll give it that. I'd never want to play it though, third person cover based shooter? Bleh. I watched all the cutscenes though, worth it.
-
Geez, and you just immediately threw it on the floor?
-
I've not played Bastion, but this game is very fluid and snappy. Utter joy to control. @Hero-of-Time, you nutjob! The bow is one of the better weapons! Specifically, the second aspect. Just stick a boon (like Zeus' or Artemis' ones) on the special and watch that damage rack up! I'm still doing some runs now and again. Attempted a heat level of 10 for the first time, and put Extreme Measures to max.

Outside of some fixed camera angles in some areas, the camera is pretty much free to move anywhere in BK. I don't agree that it's worse then Mario 64 at all. It's not perfect, but what 90's 3D game is in that regard? Easy thing to overlook is that you can hold R to center the camera behind you. Anyway, back on topic. I'm not surprised that Forgotten Land did so well. There are better Kirby games, but that Switch Effect doesn't account for taste.

Yeah, violence is one thing, but if it was a bit, there was absolutely no way they would've allowed him to drop constant F-Bombs afterwards. American broadcasters do not condone live swearing, at all. Apparently, a lot of other actors came up with flimsy excuses afterwards for how they didn't see anything to avoid having to talk to interviewers about it.

I was surprised at how quickly people were knocking out this game's "True Arena", but... EDIT: And that's 100% done. Still have 19,000 coins left over.

Coo has the best music and best abilities (Cutter Coo is stupid broken!) in Dream Land 2, and I will not hear otherwise.

You know how Mario Odyssey shifted to have all its moons available at once and once you collected one, you carried on from right there to go get more? You can thank Banjo for that. The only thing I can honestly say has aged (other then graphics, duh) is that the button layout is not ideal for a more modern controller setup. It'll take some getting used to if you don't have an N64 controller, as some abilities are activated by holding Z and then pressing the corresponding C Button. Other then that, it's still among the best of the collection based platformers.
-
Mario World kinda does it, but it's not a seamless transition like in BK and this game. (Except the Yoshi percussion) I don't remember Chrono Trigger doing this at all though.
-
If it's any consolation, as soon as I thought to mention that, it got stuck in my head as well. Truly, the double-edged sword of music.
-
Did somebody say guitars in Kirby games? Yeah, Kirby has a great track record with the electric guitar. Maybe that will dig that earworm out. And if not, there's always Bubble Bobble.

Sorry, afraid not. Hopefully, I'll be able to resume Smashing next week.
