  1. I don't doubt anyone's contentment, but I see it as a kind of "ignorance is bliss" scenario. Also, like I said, this is less relevant to a casual gamer who is not going to get especially enthusiastic about any title. And I wasn't suggesting you need your mind opening in the sense that you personally are unaware that other systems are capable of having good games, more that if you played some of them, you'd realise that some of them are so much fun that they ought not to be missed by anyone, irrespective of your personal preferences.
  2. Infamous was my first PS4 platinum A pretty easy one. Thankfully you don't have to do the paper trail, which I found boring. Makes sense I guess
  3. To be honest I know a lot of our frustration stems from the fact that we know you're missing out on some amazing games :p People who have skipped entire generations because they're happy with Nintendo, and see less colourful titles on other consoles as "churned out" and lifeless. I know because I felt the same during the PS1 and PS2 eras, skipping both consoles in favour of the N64 and Gamecube. I don't regret the decision especially, but I realise now that I was wrong, and that there were some amazing experiences on "the other side". People like yourself who consider yourself to be super casual gamers, that's fine. But honestly, I think I could sit you down for 30 minutes and open your mind with nothing but XBLA titles. On the other hand, the people who vehemently demand that Nintendo are just better and have made zero mistakes just come across as denialists. Well, look where we are, N-Europe.com. We wanted Nintendo to stay the king. I certainly have no issue looking elsewhere. I'm not sitting here complaining and acting as though I'm in some kind of gaming drought, I have a Vita, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360.... That doesn't mean I'll stop longing for the next big thing from Nintendo. Nor does it mean I'll ever pack away my Wii U, as long as there's a spare HDMI port. Because it's sitting there in anticipation, waiting for Smash Bros, waiting for the next Zelda game. Waiting, however hopelessly, for Metroid. So I guess to answer the thread's question, I'm sure I'll buy the next Nintendo console. Although definitely not at launch. I still believe that at their peak, they do it better than anyone, it's just that those peaks are now so far apart.
  4. Converting it into what? A toaster? that would actually be really cool
  5. It's hard, man. It's so difficult to accept when you have been let down so badly, and by this corporation which is so, so far away in cultural/ geographical terms. You can't voice your opinion to Nintendo and make a change. You can't grab them by the shoulders and beg them for F-Zero and Metroid, or to spend five minutes playing a some of our favourite games on other platforms and seeing what modern gaming is capable of. So many of us stood by Nintendo for so long, often exclusively, because we always swore that it was about the games, and that nobody did it better. So we know what it's like to be in that camp. But not only is that ideal of "the best games" getting less and less true, with so many cash-ins and 2D platformers and NSMB games, but the games themselves are so few and far between that it's just not enough! So what do we do? We can't seem to make a difference, we all know what we want, and what it would take for Nintendo to instantly win us back, but it's never going to happen. It's frustrating. So we come here and voice it, partly hoping we can convince people who still sit where we once did, people that feel like the past versions of us. Show other people "the light", so to speak. We probably argue with Serebii so much because Serebii is like... the perfect Nintendo fan. He is like an extension of Nintendo themselves. Nothing you can say will convince either Nintendo or Serebii that they are capable of a single misstep. Maybe we think if we could just twist the arm of someone like that, we might see a change from the big N one day.... </drama>
  6. Started catching up with Hunter x Hunter, I really don't like the narrative heavy episodes, such a lazy method of storytelling.
  7. My only complaint about the PVP is that Hunters seem to be at a disadvantage, although that might change when you get the explosive knives.
  8. Don't see why not as long as it's from GAME or Amazon. By the sounds of things, the GAME code arrives quicker. Fancy chucking one of your spares my way please? If nobody who hasn't played it wants in first, I'm curious about how it looks on 360.
  9. How are you meant to know how loud it is without a frame of reference? :p I turned my volume down and it wasn't loud at all
  10. He doesn't specifically say it's a hero, but Captain Marvel is a good fit for him.
  11. There's a code for Tesco, this doesn't work for everyone, but it did for me. TDXR-PYRT for £15 off a £75 spend. Destiny LE is £80. You can also swap clubcard vouchers for double their value towards this right now, if you have any. tl;dr, Just got Destiny LE for £25
  12. I had low expectations for this game and ended up getting Platinum, my first for the system
  13. One Piece's fillers aren't it's weakness though. Look to Naruto for that. At least some of One Piece's fillers are bearable. I remember back in the day not even realising some arcs were filler, like the one after Skypiea. Where OP lets itself down is pacing. They stretch the arcs out for ages with a slew of frustrating things a) super long opening and recap, sometimes as much as 10 mins in before new content starts b) slow-mo, alternating "reaction shots" that last 10-20 seconds each c) characters repeating the same lines every time you cut back to them d) a 5 second title card for where on the current arc's island you're cutting back to, 10 times per episode I love One Piece, really, but it's the only anime I actually find myself skipping ahead on from time to time, because I know zero progress is going to take place. At least when it's filler, the real arc carries on with good pacing.
  14. I'mma add everyone in the N Space Europe group next time I go online, I'm fonster_mox
  15. Tentatively excited for this. Doom 3 seemed to do everything right if you were just... I dunno... looking at screenshots of the original Doom games and trying to recreate that. But it didn't capture an ounce of the way the game should've felt. Doom should be manic, difficult and have bonkers weapons, not a jumpscare, alone in the dark kinda thing. To have the next title in the hands of people who appreciated what was great about Doom is a reason to be optimistic.
  16. Apparently Tesco are doing their clubcard boost next week for everything on Tesco direct. That means if you shop there regularly and have plenty of vouchers, there's potential to buy games, hardware, even consoles up to half price.
  17. Keep the two sell separate, fine. But I'll never understand the reasoning behind keeping big characters out of TV just because they have a movie presence. It's bullshit logic and I feel like some DC higher ups have made this decision based on zero evidence and nobody has thought to challenge them over it. The mediums are separate, you might as well say that you can't have Batman movies as well as video games, or comics! Not to mention the fact they're totally changing a still quite recently remade Batman already. If there's going to be any confusion, it will stem from that. It's the same reason Clark stayed out of the tights for so long and we never saw Bruce Wayne in Smallville. On the other hand if they want The Flash or Green Arrow in their Justice League movie, they'll not have a problem with that.... Stupid, and very frustrating.
  18. Had an awesome game on this today. Wish I'd realised earlier that if you take the Strike mission you're quickly paired up with some co-op partners - I was craving some co-op play and the mission didn't disappoint. Although I've never used my PS4 mic so I had no idea where it was, so I couldn't communicate to my teammates the Devil Walker's weakness :p Wish there was more to do in the beta! Really looking forward to the full game. I think I might cancel my pre-order and upgrade to a better version.
  19. I honestly can't tell if you're joking... Anyway even if you're not, the problem isn't a robotic sounding voice, but a bored sounding voice which does occasionally try to feign drama/enthusiasm, but fails.
  20. Whuut, it sounding like him is the worst thing. I can't believe it was worse before. Rather than selecting someone on the basis of being currently popular because of Game of Thrones, they should've got someone who's established for dramatic/engaging voiceover work. I feel like I'm listening to someone who a) considers himself way above games, and b) thinks I'm a massive nerd, and is humouring me with lines he finds ridiculous. They added some beeps, still shit. Should've cut a lot of the lines out.
  21. It's good, difficult to draw a conclusion from the opening sequence though as it's quite generic. Struggling to ignore Dinklage's phoned in performance after hearing about it so much :p Hm, when I finally logged in again I had 0 ammo for both guns then disconnected again 5 seconds later.
  22. Just been booted off. Kinda forgot it was a persistently online game until that happened.
  23. I did it through the store on PS4. If it helps you can use the 3 dots on the onscreen keyboard to copy/paste. Took me 20+ attempts with various errors. Tried the website on my PC at one point but that never loaded at all. The in game download is actually going relatively quickly/smoothly in comparison.
  24. The email with the original code from your retailer? Mine took weeks to arrive, after that you do the rest from bungie.net I'm finally to the stage of installing/downloading the 11GB after about 30 attempts to connect to the store and redeem!
  25. Miles away here! I was there the second the code appeared, but got errors from PSN when I punched it in, now I can't connect at all. I love play as it installs too, but man do I hate the PSN store.
