It's a little lacking on content, basically it's a blog type photo blog thing. I just uploaded it.. it seems to be loading really shitly so I need to sort out whatever is going wrong there, the background file is about 800kb. Comments/Criticisms? I wanted to keep it simple and easy to update, mostly the blog and stuff, also if you could test it in your particular browser- IE/Firefox/Camino/Safari etc.. and report any problems. I think the .png's will cause people problems. It is like an incentive for me to keep taking photos and get out a bit more this year, I've not shot a decent photo in several months mostly because the weather.. now it's warmer I wanted to do this. I'll probably add one of those blog style comment things for posts when I actually get some subscribers to the RSS feed. Ta. oh yeah link spence.offal.co.uk Yes I know I went a bit overkill on the courier font.. I'll fix that with a bit more sophistication soon.. beats comic sans though

Like Karma I guess, I thought you were just being some gay Nintendo fanboy. Ah yeah, same thing about Namco/Capcom. they're basically anagrams anyway. :P

OMFG BIRD SPEAKS! EVERYONE APPLAUD! He told us nothing and basically set up this article so he could get a new job.. first sentence: For those of you that don’t know, Tommy Tallarico has been making music for video games for years now. [insert a load of bullshit saying the controller is okay but i didn't like it that much] hey presto he has pleased just about everyone in the industry and will probably land a job somewhere else because he was critical of the Revolution he has probably pleased a few Sony/Microsoft developpers. It's classic advertising, like an episode of Richard and Judy Judy: Hi there Davina.. how are you? Davina: blah blah small talk Judy: So I hear you have a book out? Davina: Oh yes.. advertise yawn Zzzz I mean it must get pretty boring making music for THQ games, I don't blame him for whoring himself.. probably wants a job somewhere decent.

Because everyone thinks that every single thing that falls out of Nintendo's arse is gold. Anyone who speaks against it is banished. I'm really suprised Joystiq and Kotaku ran with this story. No shit?
-
.. from his arse. this is bullshit, if we're gonna have a thread for everyone who wants a bit of publicity in the weeks running up to E3 we should just make a whole forum for those threads. True professionals do not advertise their skills.

Every person who called him a fanboy or anything along those lines is a cock, this includes the following people. Hellfire and the3rdchildren. ZeldaFreak he wouldn't have stayed.. he made one game and that was it, he was out of ideas and felt that he had accomplished soemthing he could really enjoy telling his grandchildren one day. Capcom did pressure him, and due to the financial success said that if he wasn't interested they would develop it anyway. Being true to the fans who would be possibly laying down their money for a poor game he agreed to stay on for We <3 Katamari and Me and My Katamari for PSP. They have agreed that now he is done they will let the series rest and he is not bound to them again. He was probably angry because he was being interviewed by a cock who knows nothing about him.. If I was interviewing someone like that I would probably Google him and read for a few minutes, I understand the point of an interview is to learn something about someone but there is just being plane ignorant. He was acting agressive because he doesn't want to make games anymore, and probably doesn't want to talk about them anymore. If someone says "so are you going to make one for Nintendo's Revolution" i'd be pretty pissed off too. The media has now interpretted it as he hates Nintendo now. I would rather see peeople like Keita brining their original ideas to the games industry once rather than them being shunted off because their long term financial contribution is not as good as the likes of Fifa and EA games. What Keita hasdone is quite pioneering.. someone with no gaming experience just an interesting point of view on the world and transferred his skills into a game. We should thank him more than anything.. his success has no doubt influenced Iwata's Blue Ocean strategy heavily.

From a publishers point of view it would be in their interest to release a Revolution exclusive with the controller.. as it is expected many hardcore gamers will own both systems if they can afford it. Who's gonna buy Resident Evil 5 just to play it with the FHC after they played it on the PS3? nobody.. but if it's a whole new game chances are high. Depends how $$$ concious Capcom are.. if they're true to Nintendo they'll release 5, perhaps with FHC controls but no real tweaking.
-
TBH, it's not worth $99, seeing as Revolution will be out soon. Just get a second hand one like me.. build up a games collection and scrap it when Revolution comes in favour of the slot loader.

What a shock, he made his game.. and he moved on. He's not interested in computer games anymore, he wants to make childrens playgrounds. I can totally dig what he's saying.. but you have to understand, he's like Miyamoto in ways. His job is to make people smile and from a fundamental point of view he probably thinks the idea is more important than the technology. Kudos to him. He made a great game and I have much respect for him for not giving into the interviewers invasive questions about how 'everyone' will want him to make a game for the console. If he's not interested he's not interested.. no big deal.

Well I'd like to think that the controller, price, back catalogue, design were reason enough to buy the console. The idea of an exclusive is nice, but who says we can't have both? We probably will get the really screwed up in the dark Resident Evil/Survival horror title from Capcom where you use the FHC as a torch/weapon. But i'd rather have Resident Evil 5 secured.

Elite Mario is clearly a photoshop guru, judging by his personalised avatar.. I'd say there is nothing in these images outside aesthetic value. -
I bought a black one today. £25 with one official controller, memory card 4mb and all the box, packaging and junk. £25 = $44.83 Very happy with the purchase, I can't say I'd buy one at retail value.. this one is barely played 3 times or so.. so it's in perfect condition. I think if you will enjoy more than 5 games on the GameCube that you can't play on a current system that you own then you should purchase the cube.. My theory was, I can play several games on the Cube that I can't on my xbox, I would enjoy it.. and it would keep me busy = :D

God, fakes.. -
Yeah it was okay, just picked up my Cube.. no games on it though, it's looking so ready to be played. Will have to track down some games in town tomorrow, so excited. Anyway yeah besides Bomberman Hudson has never made waves for me.. I've never really been excited by their games and it always felt like it was a one hit wonder developper. I may be mistaken, the PC engine which is going on the Revolution's virtual console could have some real gems and I'm totally open minded to those. But a flight game? I just imagine it to be a poor quality flight simulator in comparison to the kinds of titles you can get on the PC like the newly released X-plane. The control scheme seems a little gimmicky really, and I imagine long flights and levels will get incredibly boring holding the controller like a paper plane- or in any plane position. I'm sure it will be great for a group of people who really dream of flying.. and it's better to satisfy their demands than leaving them in the dark. What the hell was pilot wings about anyway? Did it even have a story? or did you just fly around? It would need some really great gameplay to make up for the distinct lack of story.

Your revolution game wishlist and why....?
Nintendork replied to ultrajamie's topic in Nintendo Gaming
F-Zero and Mario Paint are basically confirmed, I'm not aware of the politics with Grand Theft Auto but I think Nintendo has a market being the only system that doesn't run the notorious GTA. Brownie points with the mothers and fathers. I'd rather play pool in real life than play on a computer game.. but I guess that could be a very accurate and solid control scheme, a definitive pool title really. I know many previous Pool games got criticised for shit control scheme and failing to render spherical balls lol. -
Sounds shit.

I don't care for Revolution exclusives.. I want Resident Evil 5. If they don't do it I'll be fucked off. Fact is: Capcom has not said 'Revolution will not get Resident Evil 5' however they have confirmed it for the PS3 and Xbox 360.. which led many people to the conclusion that it would not be on Revolution. There are a variety of reasons for this.. the most likely is that either Nintendo has slapped a big non disclosure agreement on the title because they want the news to be unveiled at the E3 speech with exclusive control scheme. Or Capcom are experimenting with the hardware and are unsure whether it can handle it. Personally I'm leaning towards a bit of both.. but I think an exclusive title would be a bad move and I doubt i'd buy it unless it got better reviews than the PS3 version.

PAL Gamecube, Pal Games, Component Cable and HDTV
Nintendork replied to Canis Vulpes's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Sorry to necropost, I just picked up a GameCube.. it's a PAL version but because it's an older edition it has the component out still. I have been using the analogue AV out using the supplied cable for the cube.. red yellow and white cable for video, left and right audio. I've not really been blown away with the quality and was considering using the component, I have quite a big TV and was wondering what options there are to improve it? I have checked out the back of my TV and I don't think I have the ports for the component video? Do I really need a HD TV to take advantage of such an old console? My xbox has a component video cable which just goes to the 3 pronged red/yellow/white cables into my scart. Can I use this to get better quality? I heard 480p is worth it for 60fps and the extra cable for sound is worth the hassle/cost. Thanks in advance. -
Welcome to the insane asylum, please enjoy the threads about every little pointless detail and fanboys are providing compliments of the house.

Pfft, that's standard for all systems. Why say something when you clearly haven't read the IGN hands on with it. Nintendo even said it's a prototype and we shouldn't consider the dev kit to be the final version that we purcahse. The length is prescriptive because any shorter will hinder on the accuracy of the FHC. It might get a little spruced up but don't expect anything more than that.
-
There will be calibration of the pointing device, but because the height, tilt and yaw are all detected by a sonar effect from the revmote synced with the wand there is no need to worry. It's clever shit.. I'm glad they spent a fair bit of money on it, Matt isn't the kind of person who lies about Nintendo hardware and he said it's solid.

Well it's not the final design. But I don't care that much.. I put up with an xbrick under my TV- i can live with that.
