I woke up for college, put on BBC news (almost unused channel before yesterday) and I'm still sitting here five hours later with a big smile on my face. If he sticks by half his big promises, I'll be happy.

I can't wait. I think I played more Timesplitters 2 multiplayer than I did SSB:M!!

I've just installed BT business broadband in the restaurant where I work, and I'll shortly be moving upstairs to the empty flat as my neighbours where I am now like to slap each other with vodka bottles in their hands. I've got permission to use the broadband instead of paying for my own connection, which is great, but what is the best way to get a connection upstairs? If there is an ethernet cable that long (my guess is a good 15-25 metres at least) will it really lag? OR if I got another hub and connected it up (the phone number is the same as the one downstairs) will that work? Any other suggestions? Also, untill BT deliver the new Hub we are using a spare oldish Belkin one, and the 'data' light seems to go out and stop an active connection every few hours. When this happens, I have to type in a series of numbers in the address bar of internet explorer (can't remember the technical name...) and reconnect it manually. Any ideas why this is happening? EDIT: Just looked into buying a Powerline. Would that be the best thing to do? EDIT 2: Fixed the latter question, still wondering if a Powerline would be more reliable than a very long ethernet cable or not.

Why Zelda Wii will probably be the best game ever.
CooInTheZoo replied to Edjamakated's topic in Nintendo Gaming
While I love the Ocarina time line (a little too much) I think its time Zelda moved on. Its like Nintendo have swapped adrenaline for nostalgia. Like some of you said, moving the storyline into the future and taking a step further from "I'm gonna 'nab the princess, and then transform into a beast" might be what the franchise needs. Picture this: Hyrule is technologically advancing, but too fast, and is in a political mess (a chance for new weapons and a more complicated storyline). Neighbouring continents each try to take it, but a war breaks out. Zelda asks Ganon to help her, and they make a deal to combine forces. But in return for his armies, Ganon is given a part of the Triforce. In comes Link, a young man working in Hyrule Palace. He overhears Ganon telling his second in command about how he has paid assassins to murder Zelda. He rushes to the Princesses chambers, fends off the attackers to find her badly beaten and in a coma. He gets mistaken for an assassin, and is hunted. Now Link must stop the War, defeat Ganon, save Zelda and clear his name. In space. Ignore that last part. In fact, ignore all of it, I had an operation on Friday and I'm sure I'm still pretty woozy from the anaesthetics. But I hope you get where I'm coming from - Zelda needs a chance to break out of old patterns. -

I tried Ket last new years. Spent the evening convinced I could find Madeline McCann. Wasted the entire evening following road signs, thinking they were clues...

I have a phobia of them. Not a 'haha phobia', a real one. If a wasp landed on my leg, I would rather cut it off and crawl away than let it sting me.

WALL-E made me cry about 8 times. While the little kids were laughing at him stealing the dead robots wheels, I was sobbing into my shirt.

Sorry to dig up old bones, but I watched Farscape when it was originally being aired and I loved it. Granted, I was about 12 I think when it started but I thought it was great. I started re-watching them all a few weeks ago and I'm almost at the end of series 4 (the last series) and it gets better as it goes along. Series 1 never quite found its feet. You have to get to know the characters and accept that it was a fairly shit show to start. By the end of series 2, I guarantee you'll be hooked, and then it just keeps getting better and better. They killed it off in its prime.

You've just destroyed the Wii Fit. I hope you're happy.

I found both games a pleasure and a stress to play. Some parts were magical, some parts were too eerie/dull/pointless/hard etc. Wind Waker's graphics were beautiful, but I found something was missing. Like there weren't enough details in the scenery, or that Links head always seemed to slightly change shape from scene to scene (my imagination?!), just little things which always pulled me out of the "OH EM GEE ITS CUTE ^_^" state of mind. Twilight Princess' graphics were more nostalgic, than beautiful. I felt like I was playing a (naff version of) Ocarina. Its how I prefer Zelda I think, very adult yet full of wonder and humour at the same time. I think WW suffered for me because there was never a scary moment, and perhaps too much humour (I spent a very long time attacking animals and retracing my OoT steps). My problem is both games were clinging onto OoT too much, but in very different ways. Neither satissfied my Zelda thirst, but I'm starting to think no game ever will again while I have these strict ideas on what a Zelda game should be.

Claire and her new mini-Peter are seriously lacking chemistry. It was like watching a spin the bottle game when they made out on that beach.

Well, mines in the post. Being the tosser I am, it won't be here till at least thursday. FYI - 365 Games is a great website, but v. v. shoddy. "Can I upgrade my postage?" "no" "It says you can on the website!" "you can't" .....

Apart from 'Hung Up' and 'Sorry', I thought Confessions album was weak. Hard Candy is pretty good though! Music to get dressed too, for sure. Your sig is giving me a semi. MGMT are amazing, i've had the album a month or so now and its been playing every day. 'Weekend Wars' <3

I just got Windows Vista Basic the other day, already installed on my new baby, but the CPU seems to be really struggling, even when nothing is running. Its been stuck at 100% all day (this fucking gadget sidebar is making me have a little stroke) Any tips on how to make my machine run better without ripping it apart? Anything I should turn off/on?

Okay, so the (clueless) repair people said its dead. It could be fixed, but wasnt worth the money. Just bought myself a dashing new laptop, and will prob sell and get an iMac later in the year. Thanks to everyone for all their help!

You could also argue that Hard-Fi are the nations biggest indie band in the last few years, or that Mario Kart is better than Galaxy all on sales. Neither is true.
