No no, that's not what i meant at all and i didn't say stealing, i said copying but still i was vague. If you look at a lot of Nintendo's successful controllers/consoles they take a pre-existing idea and make it work better and make it popular. They made the d-pad popular, the analogue stick, the rumble feature, touch pad, motion controllers etc. I know they didn't make the touch pad, the first console to use it as far as i know, was the Game.com. Although they might have come up with the rumble idea, but i'm not sure. Anyway the point i was trying to make was: -Nintendo uses the d-pad, it becomes popular, others use it -Nintendo uses analogue sticks and rumble functionality, others use it -Nintendo uses motion control, suddenly xbox and ps3 have their own versions Nintendo aren't the be and end all of gaming ideas, but they have made a lot popular.

So....now Indiana Jones is getting the 3D treatment...

I'd go see Raiders of the Lost Ark just to see the bit with the boulder. -
So would mine be if most of the people involved with Rare's best games like Donkey Kong Country, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Banjo Kazooie etc, hadn't leftI the company. Hell the people who formed Rare have left. And i also agree that Viva Pinata is a good game, (haven't played Kameo or Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts but heard mixed reviews on both - not denying they're good games), but they now seem to be a company doomed to make Kinect games and games that 'don't quite get there.' Heck i loved Rare, one of the best game companies ever created, but they've just lost that spark and where they've lost it, Retro Studios seems to have found it. But anyway, whoever develops it i'd still buy it. Especially when it looks as good as it does.

Well the new psp apparently has a touch screen so i wouldn't be at all surprised, especially with their past track record of copying Nintendo's ideas. The 3DS will almost certainly out sell it though, even if they try to 1up it.

I'm surprised you didn't make a joke about it being a free (Donkey Kong) Country. This is a very important release to me as well but I am reserving judgement until i play it, like i did when i played New Super Mario Bros DS after playing Super Mario World so long ago. And i also don't see how it's physics being slightly different means that it shouldn't have the 'Country' label. Just because Sonic 4 was different should that drop the 4? And should New Super Mario Bros DS and Wii be disgarded from the mario timeline, or 2d mario's in general because they play differently? I don't think so. This entry will evolve the Country series into the next gen and make it better. It may not rank as high as Donkey Kong Country 2 (<3), but like New Super Mario Bros before it will be a damn good game. Besides, Retro are developing it. Would you rather have Rare as they are now developing it? Didn't think so. So just relax, it's going to be a good game, you'll see.

How did you find out that santa wasn't real?
Arnieboy replied to jayseven's topic in General Chit Chat
I can't really remember. I'm guessing it was in my later 'single digit' years, as i used to wonder why everyone else in my family had presents wrapped up by my mother and why i was always told to thank certain family members for certain presents. I don't think i ever got a 'from Santa' on a present label, so eventually i figured it out. -
I can sort of see what you all mean about the jumping, but it doesn't look that bad. You have to remember that newer games are not going to play 'exactly' the same as the old games and that's probably a good thing to a certain degree. Hype-ness levels not dampened in the slightest.

I enjoyed the story more than the others i've played, but i think the lack of flood was a big factor. I still have nightmares about 'Cortana' on Halo 3.
-
I will be immensely surprised if it's anything less! Not been this hyped for a game release in ages, (nostalgia a major factor).
-
Oh dear, that clashes with the 'potential' 3DS release month. I will be hard strapped for cash!
-
Ahhhh, it all becomes clearer cheers! It's been 4 long years since i last used that.

Wow what awesome jobs, congrats! Gets me thinking that i have a BTEC National Diploma in Media Publishing/Journalism sitting there going to waste, oh well maybe one day i'll pursue it.

Bad teeth, fish and chips, cockney accents, bowler hats, drinking tea and eating scones.

I was joking but i did have a feeling i'd learnt that somewhere, but i just looked it up and apparently not. School teachers lied to me.

Well 2 pluses equal a minus, so in theory it would become the Motionminus and... It would probably come just come up with a 'remove device message' or more likely it just wouldn't work, someone should try it though. Some probably will eventually.

Don't take this as gospel but play has this up for a November 12th release (this year): http://www.play.com/Games/Wii/4-/3436265/Kirby-Epic-Yarn/Product.html I'm guessing it's wrong, but you never know...

If 'that' is true, it sets to make the game even more awesome than it already looks.

This seems like a Sonic (mario) Galaxy, if you see what i mean. Music is similarish, world map, impressive visuals and a potentially excellent game. Or maybe i'm seeing/hearing things.

@ Dyson: Being ID'd is annoying but it's fine if it's handled correctly. HMV have ID'd me before and this one bloke always has a joke about it and is really nice about it all. It's usually people in supermarkets who sneer at you when they realise you have ID, that's what really annoys me. I understand it's your job to ID, i mean i'd rather not have a 5 grand fine either, although it does sometimes get a bit tiresome, but then i combat that by making sure i get out my ID at the same time as my money to pay for something. As of yet i haven't had my form of ID questioned, but then again i always use my drivers licence.
-
I'd laugh in disbelief, but i totally believe that that could and would happen. A little bit extreme, a knife is a knife, but a spoon and a spatula?
-
That is something that really miffs me. As of recently places have started ID'ing me for 18 games, they never used to! I don't mind for alcohol and sharp impliments but for some reason this really gets me. I always have my ID out and before they can finish the sentence i have it held out in full view, shazam! I thought i was going to get ID'd for halo reach the other week, even though it's a 16. The bloke at the till checked and said 'i think your old enough.' Yeah, only 4 years old enough. It's the smarmy ones that get me, at least if they're nice about it it's not too bad. It justs makes me wonder, in this constantly cautious day and age, how old will i have to be before i finally stop being ID'd for anything that could 'possibly turn me into a raving lunatic'? I've heard of people being ID'd trying to buy spoons!

It is quite rare I admit. I wouldn't say 7 was the worst, I never really got 8's style of play and the story, but I digress. As a Coke drinker, i'm not sure if a glass bottle or a can is better, I love both...I probably prefer a can though, chilled of course.

Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (XBLA, PSN, WiiWare)
Arnieboy replied to Happenstance's topic in Other Consoles
^ I could only wish to play that well, never been very good at sonic games. Tried playing Sonic 1 the other day and died on the labrynth zone 'boss.' The lack of continues always annoys me. This does look very good though, i played the demo and my only complaint is how sonic stops dead when you let go of the directional buttons. I'll probably wait it out and pick up all the episodes when they have all been released.
