Completed this today and the whole single player really holds up well, great campaign. Tried multiplayer splitscreen too and that was fun, though the maps i tried were hit and miss, the best i tried being Station and Jungle. Haven't tried all the maps out yet though.

My only serious injury was about a year and a half ago. Was driving the car to my ex's and went round a corner at 60, front tyre hit a patch of mud and i ended up in a bush on the other side of the road and broke my collar bone. I was asked if i want morphine but being all manly i said no. Damn did i regret that on the car ride home. Ow!

Only had time to play the first level today because of work but so far it's fantastic! I got the classic controller with it so i have been using that and the controls once you get used to them are really good. Staying undetected is really satisfying and if you get caught then the gun battles are really good fun. The voice acting in this is brilliant, they have changed the characters and the way the story pans out in certain ways and i don't think they've butchered goldeneye at all, it all flows surprisingly well! Definately going to play more of the single player tomorrow and will be playing multiplayer tomorrow evening. Overall impressions so far: Surprisingly awesome, enjoying it more than any CoD game i've played, great controls, voice acting, story. Glad to see the goldeneye name hasn't been butchered this time round, (rogue agent...urgh) and it actually lives up to the name of Rare's master piece in my opinion. Obviously it'll never be as good, but it's damn close. Oh and a little bit of info which may help you if you had an issue i had. If you have a gamecube controller plugged into controller port 1 and your trying to play with a wiimote or classic controller you won't be able to get past the 'create a save to start the game screen.' That puzzled me for a few minutes.

The Wii is a good console but Nintendo buggered up what could have been an even better console. Features such as HD compatability, wii motion plus as standard, a sizeable hard drive to store data on and a better online setup than the bloody friend code system would have made it awesome.

Bugger. I paid the full 40 quid for this in blockbusters last friday. Then again, i saw it, wanted it, bought it. Haven't played too much of it, got to the boss at the end of the water part, stage 3 i think and died. Great game though! The wii controls fit this perfectly, so simple, yet the difficulty makes it a challenge. Hopefully i'll get round to finishing this on normal, although easy mode is always there if i get well and truly stuck.

Yeah i totally agree, (if it sounded like i was kissing Nintendo's arse, it wasn't meant to sound like that). A lot of what we're used to came from competition improving upon an idea, like sony using dual analogue sticks. Although it's motion control i wouldn't really compare the eyetoy to the wii remote, i'd say it was closer to the kinect, a different type of motion control if you see what i mean. Fun times cleaning windows with just your hands. :P Two different types of motion control, again showing improvements upon an idea. I always look forward to the next hardware release to see what they come up with next and how people will improve upon it. The Playstation Move is definately better than the wii remote, although i can't compare it to the motion plus as i don't own one, yet. I do think that Nintendo is more daring in bringing new ideas to the table though. The touch screen and motion control were big gambles that both paid off and thus microsoft and sony jumped on that band wagon. Microsoft on the other hand is in my opinion the king of online play, it's revolutionised it and xbox live performs better than both the ps3's and wii's online equivalents. But with Sony you always know your going to get a good piece of hardware with great graphics and something new, which this time is mainly bluray discs and of course 3D, which brings us to now and the 3DS which looks to be a great piece of kit with some decent power (something Nintendo of late has unfortunately not followed as much) and 3D without glasses.

Your rare and most prized gaming items
Arnieboy replied to stallion's topic in General Gaming Discussion
My 40" TV with an xbox360, PS2, Dreamcast, PS3, N64, Wii and Super Nintendo My little TV with a Sega Megadrive + Mega CD, Nintendo Entertainment System, Sega Master System, Sega Saturn, Turbografx, PS1 and Gamecube. My game collection, a bit outdated but nearly all there. Two and a half shelves of games, other half of far shelf is dvds and cds. Also not pictured are my handhelds: DS, Gameboy, GB Colour, GB Advance, GB Advance SP and Gamegear. About 330ish games in total and more added with every pay cheque. Fun little hobby, but expensive. Edit: I should also really mention my 'rare' pieces. The rarest games i own are probably a PAL copy of Harvest Moon, Kirby 64, Banjo Tooie, Shenmue 1 and 2, Terranigma, Christmas Nights into Dreams, Conkers Bad Fur Day. All the games i buy with boxes and manuals so most of my NES games etc are boxed. The only reason i have loose carts is because of the console bundles i bought where the sellers chuck in extra bits and bobs - not complaining though! My most prized game must be my boxed and complete copy of Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, complete with my late father's game saves. High sentimental value. -
Depends. If your a long time sonic fan who wants a potentially very good sonic game - buy colours. If not and you like fps' and loved goldeneye 64 - buy goldeneye. Me...i'm the latter.

Eww even worse! I've heard about those, hope you get it sorted.

Play.com sent me an email saying it's on it's way! Really looking forward to this, will have to watch the ign review now it's up. Will have a nice new shiny classic controller pro to play it on.

I was thinking that i was going to hate the new update, but upon downloading it it looks pretty good. The new website and the new dashboard also seem to display a bit more information than before which is good. I haven't played enough to see how it works with my games, so this is purely by looking at it. Not bad i say.

I take it the battery has gone in the cart? I've been lucky on second hand games so far but i know that one of these days i'll get a duff one :S

That's great news. Taking the best bit from Nightfire and adding it to the Goldeneye formula gets a thumbs up from me! Only 4 days to go now.

God i hated those streakmania challenges, Here I Go Again gave me the most trouble for that for some reason, (i play hard difficulty). I completed the game today and i also noticed a lot of tweaks and changes to the gameplay. The overdrive meter glows differently or at least i think it does and that instant overdrive you get happens when the fret board around the white notes is a yellowy colour. No idea why they added that but more overdrive = win. Oh and i went for it and played Free Bird and it seemed to match the difficulty of guitar hero 2, perhaps a tiny bit easier and instead of the pause before the guitar part kicks in you have some notes. Still has the awesome factor though, love playing that song! Again though this is hard difficulty, but i imagine it to be truly challenging once again on expert. Edit: missed seeing the last 2 posts so if the post seems a bit odd, yeah oops.

I have £50 transferred automatically to an ISA every month so that i don't spend it. I do have a bit of money in my normal account, i use that as a 'just in case' buffer.

Holy hell that looks awesome! Finally some modern weapons in zombie game, should make it interesting. Also makes me wonder if they'll bring back the lazer weapons or something totally new.

I've only had a problem with one GAME store really and that was the Great Yarmouth branch. They didn't know what was in or out of stock and once had a whole shelf full of Guitar Hero: Metallica boxes ready to buy...and when i got to the checkout was told that they were out of stock. Not one single 'out of stock' sticker in sight. That same shop also had a guy who pestered me to take up one of the offers while buying pokemon diamond, i swear he would not stop until i agreed to buy something extra for 2 quid or something, argh. Walked out with a stylus that i never use. (Apologies if any of you work at that branch). Besides, as gamers isn't it a little bit satisfying when you know more than the staff in GAME sometimes? I don't mean in a being an arse kind of way, but telling them release dates and information that they don't know. I don't expect all the staff to know information about every game, all i need to know is if it's in stock and to not constantly try to sell me what i don't want.

While we never did the character rule as we never really abused oddjob, we did do the 'don't shoot if your opponent is weaponless.' Made it more fair and fun We usually used the weapon setup with the RCP90s. Best gun in the game in my opinion.

Rockband 2 didn't appear in tescos until months after it was released in my area and i only saw advertisements for it on tv 6 months after! I had to go into Game to get it. Rockband 3 on the other hand, no trouble. Went into tescos and picked it up, was number 1 or 2 in the xbox360 chart. As for the setlist, this is probably the best Rock Band setlist i've played. It's just a shame Warriors of Rock got Rush and the superior Dire Straits song.
-
Wouldn't have known about those free tracks if you hadn't of said, cheers! Picked this up today and had a go. Seems really good once again but all the rock bands gave been good. Don't see myself doing pro mode though, i'll just stick to hard.

Oh god i used to love k'nex! Had boxes full of the stuff. I also had those micro machine vehicles that folded out into a town where you could drive around the micro machine cars. But alas my mother never kept things, she sold them. Including the k'nex, micro machines and a gameboy colour.

It's not nearly as bad as a lot of things that have been mentioned, but a family member who i no longer speak to that much stole a ds game out of my ds and thought i wouldn't notice. I knew it was him that done it too as he was the last person other than me anywhere near it, never got it back either. I think stealing, although a horrible thing anyway, is made even worse when it's a family member who has done it.

It looks soooo good! It seems there will be more mine cart levels than the normal 2 or 3 too which is always a good thing And i can see myself swearing at those levels where your being chased, jeez those are always so tense.

Preordered this today with the Golden Classic controller. Really looking forward to this now!

Kotaku have a story up relating to the difficulty of DKCR and it all looks good. Whilst i have been looking forward to this i was starting to wonder about the difficulty seeing as you now have 2 hits per kong, (i think i've seen if you die as one you die overall, but if you switch kongs that's still 3 hits to play with). Looks to be following New Super Mario Bros in still having a challenging difficulty which is good to see. http://kotaku.com/5675560/50-deaths-in-donkey-kong-country-returns-in-one-sitting
