I've got a SNES mini that I've never got around to opening (it's still in it's shipping box ). Been meaning to sell it for ages, so if you're after one you can have that.

Sorry, that requires at least 7 games doesn't it? I think I'll go to bed. Too bad we couldn't get more 3 vs 3 going. I suggest getting together on Thursday after Mario Kart, like "back in the day". Also don't forget the Summer Extravaganza!

This was leaked last night. Sega told US Gamer that the announcement wasn't ready to be made yet but more information will come shortly. A trailer for it was taken down from YouTube but someone from Era grabbed this from it. Speculation is that this is a release of the collection that appeared on the Steam Mega Drive hub. Here's the list of games that is on there. http://store.steampowered.com/sub/102625/

Oh sorry, it said 21:30 at first. Play a round without me first, I'll join you in 10 minutes.

Ah crap, I felt like doing something productive for a change.. But it's been too long. I'll join, but I'm a bit rusty as I haven't played in a long time, except for a few matches last Splatfest. And probably for one hour max.

So anyone up for some Splatoon tonight? We are playing with 6 or 7 so 1 or 2 more would be nice so we can make full teams! We want to start at 20:30 UK time. Edit: it's 20:30 UK time!

No it's the technology. The Gameboy and DS are cheap standalone devices which are perfectly capable of doing what they set out to do. None of the "real" VR headsets are standalone, aren't cheap, and the experience hasn't reached a threshold yet where we can say it's good enough for mainstream use.

No it's exactly what's needed. I'm not really in the loop of current VR games offerings, but I suspect it's enough to keep early adopters happy (which everyone still is at this point, with VR still not being really mainstream) for the moment. The game flood will come when VR gets big, which is when VR gets mass appeal, which is when the VR experience is as smooth as it can be, and VR headsets can be bought for cheap and require no other hardware (i.e. not needing to be hooked up to a desktop or other machine). These are require further developments in technology. For mass-appeal you need all this: - a small comfortable headset - wireless - 100% smooth tracking - higher resolution and dpi - price of say, max 300 euros This al requires more processing, which you need to fit in the headset, as like I've already said, you can't hook it up to another device in order to get mass-appeal. Technology isn't there yet, not by a long a shot. Current technology is adequate for the novelty uses you currently see, but as far as I'm aware it's not quite there yet for hardcore gaming, let alone for general amusement for the masses.

I hate how in Golden Axe the enemies go off screen and you have to wait for them to come back, which usually is when they feel like it. I got mine yesterday, but I'm not really in the mood to play anything on it. I heard about the issues and it put me off as well, hopefully they can patch them. Although to be honest, I'd rather just wait for the SEGA AGES releases now.

I feel much the same. As far as 16-bit goes, I'd rather play the System 16 coin-ops than the Mega Drive ports. The achievements do sound fun though.

I've been playing this on and off since yesterday afternoon and have had a blast (processing) with some of the games. The game features a fast forward and rewind option. You just hit the R trigger to go forward or L trigger to rewind. This has been coming in handy with games such as Shining Force where you have to wait for the enemy to take its turn. I even found myself using it on Sonic when waiting for platforms to move in Marble Zone. The game also had 20 challenges that need to be tackled. Some of these can be pretty tough and range from things like beating the first stage of Streets of Rage with a full health bar or taking on two bosses in Golden Axe with just 1 life. The game does have some issues though. I noticed audio issues in a few games I played and Sonic 1 feels like there is input lag in it, which isn't ideal. Still, nothing too major and I really bought the collection just for Phantasy Star 2, 3, 4 and Shining Force 1, 2 and In the Darkness. Some of the games I found to be very frustrating to play. The worst ones were the a Golden Axe games. I hate the way the enemies move in those games, with one alt was walking in and angle in an attempt to get behind you. Streets of Rage was another one that grinds my gears. I've said it for years and I'll say it again... Final Fight >>>>>Streets of Rage. I got the platinum trophy earlier and according to PSN Profiles I'm only the 3rd person in the world to get it. Go me!

It's a big day for all of us. After all these years, we are very happy to finally share a release date with you. ... drum roll... Rainbow Skies will launch on the PlayStation Store on June 26 (North America) and June 27 (Europe/Asia). The game will be available simultaneously for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita at a price of US$29.99 / €26.99. To celebrate this important moment, we put together a new trailer, with 100% in-game recorded gameplay material.

Yeah, it's the outer sleeve which seems to be the hardest part to find in good condition. It's why I snapped up the copy I did because it's so hard to find one that isn't with or torn in some way. Shining Force 3 usually goes for £100-£120, depending on the condition. Although, I did see one go for around £94 the other day. If you haven't already got it then I recommend getting a hold of a Deep Fear ASAP. It already goes for around £200 and after Panzer Dragoon Saga, it's probably the most expensive European exclusive. I think it was the last game released for the Saturn over here, which is why it commands such a high price.

Having watched Ronaldo’s and Zidane’s...I think Bale’s goal is undeniably better. The ball was spinning, coming in fast, and the technique wasn’t as cookie cutter as Zidane’s or Ronaldo’s; he really had to adjust to volley the ball there, and that’s not the type of goal you’ll find yourself practicing on the training pitch.

A much-needed leap forward has been made, plus an idea of how good the tech needs to be: https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/techandscience/google-and-lg-display-have-made-the-highest-resolution-vr-screen-yet/ar-AAxMFm7?ocid=spartandhp I've always loved the idea of VR, but think it needs to be more amazing for people to be properly grabbed. It's good that strides are being made with field of view, as that shouldn't be underestimated.

Looks like the game uses the Joy-con gyro as a pointer to replace the touchscreen when playing on the TV. Exactly as I was hoping and expecting Such a fantastic game! Really looking forward to diving into it again! (Also hope we get SM3DW on Switch at some point!)

NOTE: @S.C.G disconnected on the last race here. Given his track record, I'm gonna assume he wants to keep his average, despite him getting a lower score than average. NOTE: Boy, that was a mess. Wrong track choices, not to mention @Clownferret doing a vanishing act after the first race. Because of this, I had to recalculate the scores a tad. So while the points aren't completely accurate, the placings are. @viceview51 is this weeks "Player who made no bloody difference" Feel free to big it up, no-one will notice. This week, I broke the "20 GP wins" milestone, as well as the "10 2nd Places" one. Meanwhile, @RedShell got past the "10 3rd Places" checkpoint. That makes him the first to get all 3 of those milestones. Classy. I also want to tell @Vileplume2000 that we're coming to the end of the first half of the League. Seeing as his attendance is exactly 50%, he'll need to take part in 3 of the 5 upcoming nights for his score to officially count. Everyone else above 50% attendance should be fine for this half (Remember that there'll be a table that combines both halves, so it's still best to keep that attendance up) Anyway, it's the end of the month. You know what that means... Next League Night: 31st May 8pm Room 1: @BowserBasher is host @Glen-i @BowserBasher @viceview51 Sign up Now!

There's speculation that there may be some licensing issue. There's clearly something up otherwise why wouldn't they be part of the collection when all the others are? As for the Switch version, it may appear at a later date just like the Megaman Collection or it just may not appear at all. As much as I love the MD era of Sega, I am getting a little tired of them trotting out the same old stuff over and over again. How about they take a look at the Saturn or Dreamcast era? Of course that would require some actual effort from Sega, so it probably won't happen.
