Excelle Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 From reading around, I notice that there's a whole problem with shortages of Wiimotes after the US release. Are we likely to see similar problems in the UK and throughout the rest of Europe? I'm going to a Wii party about a week after release, any idea where the best places to get Wiimotes from would be? (Multiplayer is not much fun with just 1 controller! )
fatnickc Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I hope not. At launch I'll only be picking up two remotes anyway (one included, one in Wii Play), but I'd like to pick up some more remotes fairly soon after that.
Yoochem Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I'm doing the same as fatnickc. Maybe another nunchuck in time. Let the other people bring their own Wiimotes goddamnit! :P
AshMat Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I'm getting my second with Wii play, so as long as there's enough of that.
david.dakota Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I have a second Wiimote coming with WiiPlay. It was confirmed that my supplier, gameplay have anough Wiiplay units... however... i'm not too convinced of that...
mike-zim Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 i too am getting wii play. pre-ordered it from play.com along with zelda.
Owen Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 There region free aren't they? Play-Asia have some USA ones in stock. They will be in shortage everywhere but theres other avenues to get one, not too worried...yet.
flameboy Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 well im not worried I've ordered wiiplay and a wiimote at work and I only actually want 1 extra at launch.
Yoshiking Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I'm getting an extra set of Wiimote+Nunchuck (with Wii Play, obviously), but beyond that I'll have my friends get their own. At least got 2 friends who are getting a Wii, probably more with time. Might get a 3rd one around christmas if possible, though. Oh, and it won't be hard to convince my brother and sister to get one each.
raven_blade2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I hope not, I need two extra Wii remotes and Nunchuks.
ultrajamie Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 ..... what a non-post. they've sold a wii every second since launch... there's bound to be shortages - but thats all it is... it's not like you'll only get one wiimote in the box and never have the chance to get another. But no component cable... tsk.. that's another story!:horse:
Excelle Posted November 28, 2006 Author Posted November 28, 2006 Well, I only have an SDTV anyway, but I feel your pain. I've been hearing that not on the component, but also the RGB cables are delayed for the UK. So that's composite only for the time being. Ouch! As for the Wiimotes, I guess it's a case of scout around. Abroad might be a good option, although given we need them in around a fortnight for a party, it's probably not going to happen. So I guess it's hope, and break out Double Dash if we're stuck
Rummy Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Yeah, lets make a console aimed and non gamers for everyone to play and not just gamers! Let's try and bring the family together through gaming! Hmm, sounds too easy...lets make it challenging, lets see if we can still achieve our goal by not making enough controllers, so that to actually play mutliplayer, they'll have to buy a whole extra wii! They should have made 2 extra wiimotes per console, or maybe 1.5, it's not like they go off or anything, so any extras would sell in time. Seriously, what sort of idiot didn't consider making enough extra controllers for this multiplayer system?
flameboy Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I honestly think the wii should have come with 2 wiimotes at least.
darthbane2k Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I heard its the nunchuck thats in short supply, not the remote
mike-zim Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I honestly think the wii should have come with 2 wiimotes at least. Finally a sensible person who looks at it and think maybe it would have been better with " insert logic here " instead of all this bitching about nothing. GODAMN IT!!!!! the wii is going to be amazing and with the best launch ever known to man. all people can say "nintendo are fucking up the launch blah blah component this blah blah cant get more than 3 wiimotes each that" Be happy with what you get or would you like for the launch to be delayed so we can all have 15 controllers each???? ok i feel better now.
Nintendork Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Be happy with what you get or would you like for the launch to be delayed so we can all have 15 controllers each???? ok i feel better now. Said what was one everyone's mind. Quoted for truth. It has become so nit picky lately with everyone getting so angsty because this hasn't been confirmed or this is out of stock and unofficial. I've become so disheartened I just started using my block list.
ShadowV7 Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I'm getting my 2nd Wii-mote with play like others aswell. I agree that the Wii should of came with 2 Wii-motes but what you gonna do I would think that the nun-shuck would be in shorter supply since the nun-chuck has to cover both Wii Play and the Wii-mote(One by itself)
Owen Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I'm getting my 2nd Wii-mote with play like others aswell.I agree that the Wii should of came with 2 Wii-motes but what you gonna do I would think that the nun-shuck would be in shorter supply since the nun-chuck has to cover both Wii Play and the Wii-mote(One by itself) Yeah but isn't the nunchuck much more easier to make? It just doens't look like a item that would be in short supply, lol. The Wii-mote? I can see being in short supply! I preordered Wii:Play the 14th November from Gameplay, so i'm pretty sure i won't get one. Launches are never straight forward are they?
Goron_3 Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I'm really hoping their isn't any shortages of Wii controllers. I'm going to a midnight launch JUST to get a controller as im spending the night at my mates house the following night. I really do wish that the Wii came with two controllers...
Guest Stefkov Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I only want another controller with Wii Play, as long as I get that i dont care about other controllers. If i want to play more players at anything which wont be for a while, there'll be some in next year.
Fierce_LiNk Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I think a shortage of Nunchuks sounds more logical. Think of this: There will be a supply of Wii Play, and also there will be a supply of extra Wiimotes sold seperately. The nunchuks will be sold seperately, too. Unless they supply a vast amount more nunchuks to stores than they would Wiimotes, there was always going to be a shortage.
Rummy Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 I'm sorry that some users are either too stupid, or too sophisticated(clearly this one) to find logic wrapped up in sarcasm, I am obviously merely just whining. I shall stop. Wii Play, does it come with just a wiimote and no nunchuk? I thought it came with both(although having seen mention of the prices can easily believe it doesn't) but I thought it did because some of the games on it require the Nunchuk!
The3rdChildren Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 I'll probably pick up as many remotes as my wallet allows on launch. To be honest I'd rather have a load of remotes than a load of halfassed games. Aside Wii Play and Zelda, I don't really care for any of the launch games. Wii Sports should satiate my multiplayer desires. Too bad DragonBall Z isn't coming out with the Wii here.
