rokhed00 Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Anybody else seen it yet? It's basically a hand with the Wiimote in it saying what is this, this is Wii and the launch date. Pretty low key ad campaign.
Nintendork Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 So was the iPod advert: 1,000 songs in your pocket.. some people dancing around. Product shot. Apple logo - drink different. This going out on ITV/4 daytime TV I'll check out King of Queens later?
rokhed00 Posted November 13, 2006 Author Posted November 13, 2006 This going out on ITV/4 daytime TV I'll check out King of Queens later? No idea, I saw it on the Scifi channel during Star Trek this morning. The parallels with the ipod ad are good though, the design and ad campaign are really making it look accessible for Joe (and Josephine) Public.

Not seen it yet, and there's not much in stores yet, just the regular pre-order signs! Still no demo pods!
Wolf Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 They're only just starting. Just like in Japan.
Nintendork Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 I don't have Sky.. but I imagine it's a better advertising ground for Sony and Microsoft. Seeing as most people who have Sky are better off.. so can afford to pay a premium. I think C4/terrestrial will be Nintendo's biggest advertiser again. Do the kids channels get away with brainwashing the kids anymore? I remember watching Cartoon Network and it would be like "Are your parents around? No? THEN BUY THIS!!!"

I don't think people who have sky are definitly better off, you can bet your bottom dollar you go on to council estate and you'll find a sky dish on the side of the house full of a family on benefits, there I go making a stereotype myself!
Mundi Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 this should be in wii adverts thread Thats for the mods to decide..... No point in bringing that up

It's not something I've not noted myself.. but I think that generally these people have Sky because their personal life is lacking. It's like saying working class people die earlier.. and manual labour jobs cause stress.. stress induces smoking that results in more bad health. But even when taxes are raised they will still buy them irrespective of the effect it has on their lifestyle. Because it is one of the last few pleasures of the working class. It's tough to compare Sky to smoking.. but even though it may put pressure on the family budget they will still take it.
martinist Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 i haven't saw the advert yet but i might catch a glimps of it during peak hours (like during i'm a celebrity)
dannbrownn Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 i haven't saw the advert yet but i might catch a glimps of it during peak hours (like during i'm a celebrity) ZOMG! Now you have said that i will have to watch it just in case!!! Thanks alot for mentioning that program!!!

I'm sorry, but if you view full digital TV (none of that freeview crap that's barely worth watching) as a bad thing you need some re-education.
Owen Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 It's cool, right? All white? I reckon Nintendo has taken a few ideas from Apple, but who wouldn't? Nintendo don't want a repeat of the Gamecube and this so called kiddy image which kept being brought up! Looking forward to seeing it, whenever that would be! I think the sponsering of the channel 4 shows with the DS was very good, so lets hope Nintendo keep it up with the Wii!
Platty Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Thanks for the heads up rokhed i will watch out for it instead of flicking between ad breaks
rokhed00 Posted November 13, 2006 Author Posted November 13, 2006 Thanks for the heads up rokhed i will watch out for it instead of flicking between ad breaks Don't expect to see it any time soon, I've been watching all day and it hasn't re appeared.
Kurtle Squad Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Do the kids channels get away with brainwashing the kids anymore? I remember watching Cartoon Network and it would be like "Are your parents around? No? THEN BUY THIS!!!" No...but Pokémon on Toonami is sponsored by Pokémon Mysterious Dungeon, someone at NOE has pulled their fingers out
Fierce_LiNk Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 I just seen it! E4, waiting for Hollyoaks first look to come on. Ironically, the ad is like a first look. Its like "huh?". It'll help the public immensly when they get more and more adverts out. But wow, i can't believe it! Its almost here.

fatnickc Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 26 days to be precise... ish Not 25? I'll watch E4+1 in a few minutes to see if I can catch the advert.

Statistically the majority of Sky owners are in the C2DE group, so not better off at all. Either way, I don't think Sky can be used to categorise people! It's good promo for any of the systems because it's cheap. Can't wait to see the Wii advert.
conzer16 Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Anyone have the ability to get it up on youtube? I would lke to see it, only im in uni!
