Jimmy3000 Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 just saw howls moving castle yesterday and though it was pretty good. I had it on my comp for months before watching it >.> P.s i saw Akiras and many other Anime dvd's on sale in music zone for £6 =)
The3rdChildren Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 Just a head's up for fellow Evangelion fans. Someone has the extended opening montage from the Japanese renewal preview DVD TEST-TYPE up for download. What this clip is... is basically a montage of scenes covering the entire series compiled to play along with the full length opening. Very cool, slightly upsetting and very spoilerish. For anyone who likes the series, or someone wanting to see what the big fuss is about, look no further than http://www.evamonkey.com/test_type_opening.avi for the answer.
Happenstance Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 Just a thought after reading Jimmy3000s post, if any of us notice any Anime dvds going cheap online we could post it in this thread for others. Im always in the mood to pick up some cheap anime.
darkcloud Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 Wooh thanks 3rd...... Gunna watch that as soon as this download finishes..... Which won't be long from now. lol
Cheapshot Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 Has anyone watched Samurai Champloo? Just got the DVD; one of the best anime I've ever seen. There's no teen angst bullshit and it has the best intro I have EVER seen. :shock:
elniro Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 Has anyone watched Samurai Champloo? Just got the DVD; one of the best anime I've ever seen. There's no teen angst bullshit and it has the best intro I have EVER seen. :shock: Yea when i first watched it i loved it, instantly became one of my favourites, but after that month or so break (they had to change channels) i didnt like it as much.
darkcloud Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 Zankoku na tenshi no you ni Shonen yo, shinwa ni nare... I love the feeling nostagia causes so fun. XD I really need to buy the rest of the DVD's for Evangelion...... I've only got like half of them. ; ;
Cheapshot Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 @Elniro - Why don't you like it now? I've only seen 6 episodes - what happened to it?
elniro Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 @Elniro - Why don't you like it now? I've only seen 6 episodes - what happened to it? I have no idea why, its strange. Although there is one real real sucky "filler-like" episode.

Supergrunch Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Sunrise, you evil bastards. Aoi (Mashiro's maid) commited suicide so a gang of thugs wouldn't torture her so they could find out where the Queen was! ^ Mai Otome ep 18 spoiler. Damn me and my readage of spoilers! Come on static, release ep 16... (I won't give in to Doremi!)
Guest Jordan Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Doremi subs are very good quality actually! Oh, you haven't seen ep 16 yet? New intro that episode. Alot better than Mai Otome's first one, but not as good as Mai HiME's!
Supergrunch Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Doremi subs are very good quality actually!Oh, you haven't seen ep 16 yet? New intro that episode. Alot better than Mai Otome's first one, but not as good as Mai HiME's! Yeah I know, I must have watched it on youtube about 50 times- I'd say it's better than the mai-hime OP. Unfortunately there's no new ED though- the current one is crap- just the same animation the whole way through. Actually, have you seen the mai-hime "specials" on youtube? They're DVD extras that give you more insight into the characters.
Guest Jordan Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Yeah, i have all 26. You wanna see the Mai HiME movie trailer (it's a joke by sunrise, apparently) it was on Mai Otome DVD 1. It should be on youtube, if not check animesuki Mai Otome page. It's really worth watching, and it would be awesome if only it was real ;_;
Supergrunch Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Yeah yeah I've seen it... But I can't find numbers 8-12 of the specials, or where to torrent them.
Guest Jordan Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Doremi (your fave...) did it. There should be some on animesuki, or you can just try mininova.org (DON'T DO PIRACY... IT'S WRONG.)
masaki86 Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 Yea when i first watched it i loved it, instantly became one of my favourites, but after that month or so break (they had to change channels) i didnt like it as much. huh? Are you in americaland?
weeyellowbloke Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 I've just finished watching Last Exile, and it is seriously excellent. Just a couple a downsides I found were that it could have perhaps done with a couple more episodes to help the ending not feel so rushed and to explain some details, but over all I'd recommend it.
elniro Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 huh? Are you in americaland? no lol In Japan there was a break in airing the series halfway through, due to some issue with the channels, so while it was being transferred to a different channel there was about a month or so break before they showed the next episode of samurai champloo. And i followed the series when the first episode was fansubbed, hence there was a break for me too
The3rdChildren Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Not sure if anyone fancies a bunch of hi-res anime images scanned and collected in one place, but there's a pretty sweet collection over at: http://animepa.csusm.edu/galleries/ Enjoy, you mooches.
Blackfox Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 T3C showed me some Evangelon. I was impressed, the animation is superb. I might do a Jordan and set sail to Torrent Bay. Ahoy!
The3rdChildren Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 T3C showed me some Evangelon. I was impressed, the animation is superb. I might do a Jordan and set sail to Torrent Bay. Ahoy! Artwork is superb. The budget goes a bit way-hay in the end and you get a mixed bag. Some episodes are also drawn horribly (episodes three, four and six as examples), but those are just teething problems and easily overlooked in the grand scale of things.

Otherwise, awesome! Incidentally, just bought the Asuka goth statue.
The3rdChildren Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Dude, there are some hot Eva figurines I've been wanting lately... I just don't have the financial means to obtain them. God, I'm so poor at the moment it's UNREAL. Medicom have made some super posable Asuka and Rei figurines, I'll link you up if I can find any. Share with me the goth statue?
