Ashley Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Perhaps not news for some but I found this amusing; In the United States, protest votes are often made in order to indicate dissatisfaction with the slate of candidates presented on a particular ballot, or to highlight the inadequacies of a particular voting procedure. Since most states' electoral systems do not provide for blank balloting or a choice of "None of the Above", most protest votes take the form of a clearly non-serious candidate's name entered as a write-in vote. Cartoon characters are typically chosen for this purpose; as Mickey Mouse is the best-known and most-recognized character in America, his name is frequently selected for this purpose. (Other popular selections include Donald Duck and Bugs Bunny.) This phenomenon has the humorous effect of causing Mickey Mouse to be a minor but perennial contestant in nearly all U.S. presidential elections. A similar phenomenon occurs in the parliament elections in Finland and Sweden, although Finns and Swedes usually write Donald Duck or Donald Duck Party as a protest vote. Mickey Mouse's name has also been known to appear fraudulently on voter registration lists, most recently in the 2008 U.S. Presidential Election. http://mickeyforpresident.com/
arnold Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 Winner of Ukraine's got talent, and this is some amazing talent. A Sand animation of germany taking Ukraine in the second World war, it's Amazing, we need more things like this in Talent shows.
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 And once again the cockblocker that is copyright restrictions prevents me from seeing a video ... *grumbles*

Emasher Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 dont know if its old or not.. funny but kinda lousy on the kid his brother is obviously an asshole If the younger brother wasn't the sort who goes online and acts like he's on /b/, fair enough, but if he was, he had it coming.
Paj! Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 That Sand Animation was outstanding. I wish talents like that won Britain's Got Talent. I don't watch BGT cause I can't bear the utter shite acts, and/or the sob stories. That was beautiful though, and just...unbelievable. Because she must know exactly how to manipulate sand, so the lines appear, without fiddling. Wow.

Paj! Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 Completely agree. I didn't understand why they started crying though? Cause it was about the Ukraine being taken over/bombed by Germany in WWII.
MoogleViper Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 Cause it was about the Ukraine being taken over/bombed by Germany in WWII. Oh right. I thought it might have something to do with war but wasn't sure.
lostmario Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 (edited) I don't think these have been posted already Edited August 17, 2009 by lostmario
Ashley Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 Seems Disney aren't fond of Miley Cyrus either; Also, way to keep your site updated Disney.
Coolness Bears Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 You can now get Hannah Montana Cherries, yep.
Goafer Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 I think I bought some Toy Story melon chunks the other day. It makes a nice change to see well known cartoon characters appearing on something other than junk food.
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Hannah Montana Cherries I find the imagery created in my head by the combination of those words disturbing.
Ashley Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 I find the imagery created in my head by the combination of those words disturbing. Yeah someone in the marketing department either didn't think or is a dirty motherfucker. I think I bought some Toy Story melon chunks the other day. It makes a nice change to see well known cartoon characters appearing on something other than junk food. Disney have been branding on healthy(ish) food for years such as juice drinks (including Disney Princess Juice, another poorly thought of title :p), healthyish convenient meals and I think they've been doing fruit for a while too.
Goafer Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 I find the imagery created in my head by the combination of those words disturbing. All I can think of is running through the aisles of Tesco yelling "I have Hannah Montannas cherry!". Limbs flailing all the while.
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Disney Princess Juice All I can think of is running through the aisles of Tesco yelling "I have Hannah Montannas cherry!". Limbs flailing all the while. Those two literally gave me a laughing fit that was threatening to suffocate me!
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Okay, that's just plain and pure awesome! But the golf girl is kinda hyperactive.
Goafer Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 I've done the basketball backwards throw thing one before. That's about the limit of my proness though. That video is corking.
