Fierce_LiNk Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 I'm talking to Haden right now, and it inspired me to create this topic. Basically, how do you feel about the way you look? What do you do to look the way you are? I used to have pretty bad skin and i used to hate my hair. So, i decided to change a few things. First of all, i stopped shaving against the grain. Now, i go with the grain. Whilst i may not get a cleaner shave, i means i don't get these horrible red marks, or shaving burns. The second thing i did was start to use this cream called karma cream. Its from a shop called Lush, which is pretty good for this sorta thing. My skin used to be really, really bad, with these red marks and dry-ness. Now, it feels like its got air to breathe. The third thing...my hair. I was a bit infamous for my hair. Its dark and thick. Whenever i shower, which is very often, it goes all big and fluffy. So now, i tend to get it cut more regularly, and i wax it. I've found out that big hair really isn't for me. So yeah, what do you do? Are you happy with the way you look? I would say i'm happier than i used to be. Overcoming the skin problem really has helped me a lot. I used to get frustrated with my skin and occassionally i did get snappy with some people. Because i wasn't at ease with myself, i wasn't at ease with others. Now that this problem has been sorted, i feel more confident in many ways. Post away.
Haden Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 I erm wash my hair oocasionaly and shave sometimes. And worry about how I look. I like my hair one day after I have washed and facial hair two days after shaved. Yep I'm one hot guy.
demonmike04 Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Hmm well I shouldnt really complain because im getting quite a good response about how my appearance is now, but it just feels like its those sort of lies your friends tell you to make you happy. Im personally neither happy or unhappy, I dont care too much about my face but no matter what I do my fucking spots wont go. Another thing is that im starting to put on weight, so im planning on doing something about that. My main problem is my haul of soda, which im slowly getting less of. I'd usually go through a 2 liter bottle of cola a day, but I know its not much of a difference, but its starting to decrease to about 1 liter, which still is pretty bad considering sugar levels. So like I said, I have no right to complain but I have no stance on whether im happy with my appearance. As long as I get female attention, im not worrying. (But for fuck sake, why do they have to be complete assholes?)
Sarka Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 I don't mind how I look at all. I wash my hair everyday because I feel dirty if I don't. My hairline is rather far back so I'm very worried about going bald... However, even though I don't mind how I look - I want plastic surgery in the future. Just to make me look nicer - I personally don't see anything wrong with that. I also have lots of loose skin which I would like removed as it is annoying.

Personally, if you dont mind how you look, never go any were near plastic surgery. So many risks, very expensive and may change you for the worse (Look at lea from BB).
Guest Jordan Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 I'd rip my face off and start again if i could...
demonmike04 Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 I'd rip my face off and start again if i could... Our first unhappy person! Dont be depressing man, express the good sides! Also letty, I do believe i said look at Lea from BB
Letty Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 I do believe i said look at Lea from BB exactly! have you seen the size of those things?
Sarka Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Our first unhappy person! Dont be depressing man, express the good sides! Also letty, I do believe i said look at Lea from BB Lea is incredibly happy with her looks. She looks exactly how she wants - I'd love to have that feeling! Also, I wouldn't have that much - just a little here and there...
Fierce_LiNk Posted August 18, 2006 Author Posted August 18, 2006 Hmm, personally, i wouldn't advise anyone to touch plastic surgery. It does depend on the situation and person though, for example, if someone had disfigurements, etc. I would like to be a bit more built up. I've been doing exercises and shizzle, and i think its starting to pay off. I need more meat on me bones.
demonmike04 Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Lea is incredibly happy with her looks. She looks exactly how she wants - I'd love to have that feeling! Also, I wouldn't have that much - just a little here and there... But I have the feeling she's covering up. The only possible thing she's done is get into porn, and thats because of her breasts. Honestly, I can not believe she is happy with the way she looks, I know you look for personality in a girl, but i wouldnt even bother looking for that if some one who looked like her greeeted me, i'd be running to the otherside of the globe. Plastic surgery is shallow, it just shows that some idiots are going for looks. Hmm, personally, i wouldn't advise anyone to touch plastic surgery. It does depend on the situation and person though, for example, if someone had disfigurements, etc. I would like to be a bit more built up. The3rdChildren Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 We're born as we are. I'm personally very pale and ill looking most of the time, which is probably related to my lack of exercise and irregular sleep pattern. I don't make an effort to shave very often (it's a chore), nor go for a particularly tidy hairstyle. My hair has this awful habit of doing whatever the hell it likes, so I'm often left as a slave to it's desires. People also remark I look younger than I am, which isn't really something that bothers me. I certainly don't act my age, so not looking it either won't really change anything. What results is kind of a messy, awful look, but hey, I'm not endevouring to impress anyone in particular... so what the hell? To be honest, I wish I'd looked after my face/complexion a bit more when I was younger, but that's not exactly something I can change, it having happened and all. I also wear glasses, but kinda like the feel of wearing them and the sorta nerdy look that tags along for the ride. Plus you get to push them up your nose and people will stop to watch in awe*. I don't really have a lot of confidence, especially in attracting girls, but I mask that in various ways (a;l annoying) and wouldn't attribute it to looking the way I do, it's more a mentality/personality mix of this and that from here and there. *This is a lie.
Platty Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 I guess im happy with the way i look. Could do with loosing a few pounds and getting a bit fitter like i used to be but meh thats what you get for working full time, drinking more beer and playing less football. My facial hair grows at an incredible rate, I have to shave everyday, which is rather annoying so i usually leave it 3 days or so now and have the stubble rough look. The only thing i would probably change is the balding Alan Shearer hairstyle i seem to have aquired... i would like to have big thick fluffy hair like you Flinky but instead i have thin receding hair. but im not that fussed about it, cant help your genes, ill just shave it all off eventually. Plus i still get the females....well now and again.

knightendo Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 i had a terrible complexion as a teenager, not fully cleared up but mosty. used to have really bad dry skin too, and it would hurt like hell when i shaved... my hair too was just a mess sitting on top of my head, looked like one of those "bowl" haircuts, honest and i hated wearing glasses... but i found solutions... designer glasses for a start lol. since i swam a lot (should really get back to that!) i read men's health when they did a special on it, and i think that that's what was causing my dry skin. the magazine recommended using dove instead of soap when you swim a lot, because of the chlorine. worked a treat! no more wrinkly fingers after a lengthy swim, and when i shave (which is only every few days now as i'm no longer paranoid about having stubble and mine does grow slowly) it doesn't hurt anymore, as long as i wash my face with dove beforehand. staying with shaving, if anyone still is experiencing redness and, well, pain after shaving, may i recommend the gilette vibrating wet-shave razor. can't remember the exact name, but i bought it last year and the battery is still going!! it really works a treat, and i use that nivea for men stuff before and after. my mate emma works for virgin vie so i get cream stuff off her too which i throw on my forehead and my hands, guess i still am a lil paranoid about that dry skin :S my hair is kept real short now, just long enough to throw some gel into it to mess it up a bit. altogether, all that takes no time at all, i'm not doing any of it to be vain, just to take care of myself. this last year is really the first i've aquired my own "look", even if it isn't "stand out in the crowd", but i feel more confident because of it. that make sense? i too look younger than i am, i'm 28 but often get asked for ID in places that are over 21's... when i was 25 i even got asked for ID to buy an 18 certified video... it was only bloody Airwolf lol! pale skin, i had that problem too until recently, getting on top of it now by getting at least 7 hours sleep a night (even if i don't get to bed till after 3am because of revolution europe :P) and i'm eating a helluva lot better these days... living with 4 girls must be rubbing off on my diet lol
The Bard Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Lush Lush: A fat slut who hangs aroung bard getting drunk and habving dex with equally inebriated men. Edit: I forgot that you dont drink. Also: I hate me and the way i look. Its funny how everyone eincluding my self goes "o noes, not teh plastic xsurgery" but you ARE born in to a waaay too fucking imaeg conscious world, and it's alright for you to say if you're born with the goods, but trust me, I know better than most that phydical apprearances can destroy peoples lives, caompletely, and it's just so unfair T TImes the abuse you can get for looking a certani way. o_O You seem like a lovely bloke. I remember you sayuing that to me on my first day here, honestly though, the sarcasm, it burns, nobody deserves it, thats just cold.
Hero-of-Time Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Im pretty happy with the way I look now. Although it didnt used to be the case. I started going bald aound 2 years ago and that made me feel very uneasy and slightly depressed. What I did to counter this was to start going to tanning booths which makes me a nice brown all year round and really did pick my confidence level back up. As for my hair, or lack of, I started shaving my head down to the bone. I figured Im going bald now so why fight it? This way i got used to looking at myselk with no hair. As for shaving, I always ended up with shavers rash on the right side of my face just under my lip but I have adjusted to shaving with the grain just like Flinky and it stopped flaring up. I always try to have a little stubble around my face as it goes with the rest of my bald, tanned image. Alot of the time though I just let my facial hair grow. We really should start a topic where we can post pics of ourselves for everyone to see.
AshMat Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 I like my hair, but seriously, bash and reshape my godawful face.
Babooo Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 What is shaving with the grain??? I don't get it. I just shave.
