Fierce_LiNk Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 Yep. I'm buying it mainly for GT5 and Winning Eleven though. I won't be buying it on release day, and will wait for a price drop . That'll have to be one hell of a price drop then.
Mikey Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 I'll be getting a 360 too when the Premium pack hits the 200 mark. The PS3 won't be a reasonable price for ages after its release, and I doubt there'll be any games I'd want for it at first anyway. I'm looking forward to Wii the most by far though. If the Wii is a reasonable enough price at launch, I'll pre order one. That'll have to be one hell of a price drop then. I'd pay more for a PS3 than Wii considering it's far more powerful, will have more games, etc..
conzer16 Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 That'll have to be one hell of a price drop then. hee hee that made me laugh!! i cant see ps3 dropping to round 300 until at least 2008!! (Gonna get the xbox meself)
Mikey Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 They'll have to drop it if they wanna stay competitive. The average consumer won't pay silly prices for a couple of hours of fun a week, or for their 12 year old son.
raven_blade2006 Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 Are these new Wii specs right? http://www.gamehope.com/news.articles/13055.html Apparently it says that it has: CPU: PowerPC 750GX clocked at 1.1 Ghz with 1MB Cache GPU: derived from ATI R520 (Currently equipping Radeon X1800 PC Graphic Cards) Dont know what to make of this. But 1.1 GHZ seems like a decent increase for the console. After all, why not? A little extra boost wouldnt hurt.
ThePigMarcher Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 Seeing as Nintendo used an after-hours press conference for the annoucement of the Smash Bros title , I wonder if there is a possibility of them doing a similar after-hours event with launch date and price before the end of E3. Just a possibility and not something I will pin my hopes on.

UziT Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 I wish nintendo dont fu*ck us up like microsoft done with the 360! I'd friggin die if find out i'll be getting my Wii Jan07 like i did with my 360 which was Jan06, but I end up getting it december 22!
shade Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 Nintendo did not show everything about the Wii and they did that on Purpose. Perhaps they are having their own show in summer. A return for Spaceworld?
djamb3 Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 They will tell whats remaining at tgs for sure. But I hope spaceworld comes back.
shade Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 There seems like to much info to give at TGS. You got to remember that Nintendo do not show their stuff on the TGS show floor.
ShadowV7 Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 I say between £130-£150.Hope a date will be sooner though,I wanna pre-order one.
UziT Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 I rang up Gamestation just a few minutes ago and they took my name and number and said they will let me know when the Wii will come out, how much is the deposit and how many they will be getting!
Charlie Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 I asked in GAME a couple of days ago about preorders actually, they said they would let me know as soon as Nintendo send them the details. (That was after we'd had a quick laugh about the name).
UziT Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 The dude who I spoke to said he was too ashamed to say Wii!
Ashley Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 Actually I was at work today and talked about Red Steel and I believe my actualy words were "You heard about Red Steel on The Wii - god that still sounds weird -..."

They're using a hugely upgraded Cube CPU (outperforming the 360 core easily on single thread) and a brand new graphics chip that really is helping the graphics seeing Mario Galaxy and Smash Brawl for example. In other words, it should be able to launch at €200 and make the graphics look genuinely next gen.

Just don't expect all the 1st generation games to show this, I am impresseed with the graphics of the Wii but as we all know the graphics are not the main focus of the Wii.
Nintendork Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 Forbes (knows more about money than you) magazine says $200 or less. I trust them more than I do myself with regard to money.. complimented by Sega's VP saying yesterday $200 seems highly likely.
gaggle64 Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 $200 = £106 Sweet name taking lord in heaven I hope so.
FalcoLombardi Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 After I read this topic in school, I actually read a magazine (U.S. News). They actually had an article in there about E3. Only a paragraph was about Nintendo, but it did manage to say that the price will be $250. I hope they're right. Better yet, I hope they're wrong and its cheaper.
Charlie Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 $200 = £106 Sweet name taking lord in heaven I hope so. +VAT and other stuff that make it more expensive here equals about £130 I think...
