Charlie Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 The first official trailer for the latest Bond film has hit the net! Avaible to stream at Sony Picture's website...
gaggle64 Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Looks fantastic. They seem to be going for a slightly darker, tougher Bond image, which is probably what the series needs in this day and age. Pierce is going to be a hard act to follow, but if anyone can do it, it's Daniel Craig. He was fantastic in Munich and in Road to Perdition, and I expect to do well in 007s gadget stuffed Doc-Martins. I just hope they have a great villain line up to match. mmm... we'll see. 007 movies tend to suck. What Bond films have you been watching recently?
KKOB Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 The ones since Goldeneye I imagine goldeneye and tomorrow never dies re my favorite bond films ever! die another day was good and Peicre Brosnan played bond perfectly the trailer looks okay :S sure it'll be a great bond film i mean Daniel Craig can act bt it's still strange having a blond hair blue eyed bond-overall i cant wait till novemebr for three reasons-Twilight Princess(fingers crossed), Wii (every finger crossed) and Casino Royale!
Hellfire Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 The ones since Goldeneye I imagine Exactly. Goldeneye is a great movie, after that, they're all just action movies with ridiculous looking action sequences and uninteresting stories.
The Peeps Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Daniel Craig doesn't look the part in my opinion, but this film has potential to actually be good seeing as it's based on the book. Goldeneye was the last great Bond film, the ones after that were good but just not on the same level.
Atomic Boo Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 And along with it comes the crappy EA bond game for next generation systems. hooray
Konfucius Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Wow, I didn't expect much from the trailer but I'm actually very surprise how good it looks. Although some of the action sequences seem a bit over the top but I guess it's ok for a Bond movie, especially after Die Another Day.
gaggle64 Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Goldeneye, Tomorow and The World are all great films. Die Another Day was... well, a tad odd to be frank, but still decent. Anway, Connery will always be the yardstick which all new Bonds are measured with. Daniel Craig is going to be good. He's a great actor, and you need a good actor to pull off a role like Bond. I'm massively looking forward to this.
AshMat Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Does this count as a 007 film If i remember Casino Royale was the book before James Bond
Nintendork Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Saw some footage on Film 2006. The opening scene is rad, this is going to be a raw and authentic Bond film, less classy from what I understand.. trying to remove what Brosnan has almost carved into the image.
Monopolyman Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Looks a tad...differant than usual, but I'll end up watching it anyway. And I also agrre with TakeoMiyazaki. TMD was a great Bond film, but then after that... well, not bad, but not great.
Bluejay Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Looks really good, even if Craig doesn't seem quite right, i'm sure he'll grow on me. The black and white parts at the beginning were interesting, I thought the whole film was going to be in black and white. That would have been different.
Cubechris Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Blond with blue eyes, yeah alright, but hey atleast he wont be parachuting on some plastic off a fucking glacier. Jesus.
gaggle64 Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Does this count as a 007 film If i remember Casino Royale was the book before James Bond Hmm, intresting. M did say right at the beginning something about having second thoughts about his promotion. It's definitly 007 - maybe this is set at the very beginning of Bonds super-spy career? (haven't read the book) Blond with blue eyes, yeah alright, but hey atleast he wont be parachuting on some plastic off a fucking glacier. Jesus. Yeah, that was one of the "odd" bits. Surfing on in the opening scene was frankly too much too.
Atomic Boo Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Well its stupid if its going back because when you watch the films the gadgets get worse. I thought the last movie was clumsy as well, although i usually like bond films. What was stupid about die another day was the invisible car. It was called camouflage but it practically went invisible. the bombshell is why not make bond invisible?
Platty Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Casino Royale is set in the past, its basically at the start of Bonds career. Im quite looking forward to it.
Guest Jordan Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Casino Royale is set in the past, its basically at the start of Bonds career. Im quite looking forward to it. But all the other characters look old... >_>
gaggle64 Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Well, most of the original cast are dead, so start getting used to it.
Retro_Link Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Trailer Looks pretty good! I really don't understand how the film works if it's a prequel to all the bond films because in that case shouldn't it have an old look to it with the classic cars and poor gadgets etc... Also, Judy Dench is the newly recriuted M, yet if it's a prequel telling the story of Bond getting his 007 license, she wouldn't be M!
gaggle64 Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 And along with it comes the crappy EA bond game for next generation systems. hooray Good news! It's just been announced that Activision has the Bond license now. At least theres the POSSIBILITY that they'll be quite good.
soag Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Trailer Looks pretty good! Also, Judy Dench is the newly recriuted M, yet if it's a prequel telling the story of Bond getting his 007 license, she wouldn't be M! and thats exactly why im against this movie. I love bond, i have all the books and movies but this is just not bond.
Cube Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Also, Judy Dench is the newly recriuted M, yet if it's a prequel telling the story of Bond getting his 007 license, she wouldn't be M! If the bond films had a set timeline, wouldn't Bond be in his 60's or something?
