Oxigen_Waste Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Yeah. Ledger's performance is outstanding. Easily the best portrayal of a character by an actor i've ever seen. Maybe not the best, but surely one of the best. EDIT: Ondskan (Evil): A solid 8/10. Good movie. American Splendor: Hmm... yes, I like it. Gotta read the comics, though. 7/10.
Mundi Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Anyone seen "I´m a Cyborg, But that´s OK"? Just read what the plot is and i´m wondering if anyone recommends it.
Slaggis Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Yeah. Ledger's performance is outstanding. Easily the best portrayal of a character by an actor i've ever seen. Agreed. His performace in the movie is outstanding. Was he nominated for a best actor oscar? I thought Gyllenhaal was pretty fantastic too. I get really annoyed now when people won't watch it just because it's the "gay cowboy movie", I mean, it's just so much more than that.
ReZourceman Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 I get really annoyed now when people won't watch it just because it's the "gay cowboy movie", I mean, it's just so much more than that. Yeah! Theres mountains too!
Slaggis Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Yeah! Theres mountains too! lol - you just made me sneeze and laugh at the same time. Edit: Just checked, he was nominated but didn't win! That sucks.
Oxigen_Waste Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 lol - you just made me sneeze and laugh at the same time. Edit: Just checked, he was nominated but didn't win! That sucks. He couldn't win. No against Philip Seymour Hoffman's performance in Capote, he couldn't.
Paj! Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Though i've never seen BBM, and really should, it would have to be pretty amazing to beat Crash.
Slaggis Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Though i've never seen BBM, and really should, it would have to be pretty amazing to beat Crash. Thats what I thought when I went to watch it, I thought crash was excellent. But this BBM blows it out of the water. -- Bratz the movie lol. 1/10 (The teacher made us watch it in Sociology)
Oxigen_Waste Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Shattered Glass Hmmm, yes, it's pretty darn fine. 7/10.
triforcemario Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Thats what I thought when I went to watch it, I thought crash was excellent. But this BBM blows it out of the water. -- Bratz the movie lol. 1/10 (The teacher made us watch it in Sociology) ...Why?! WTFBBQ?!
Slaggis Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 ...Why?! WTFBBQ?! She wasn't there that lesson and thought she'd torcher us ("Torcher us" being her actual words, we'd just finished our latest topic so had a spare lesson.)
triforcemario Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 She wasn't there that lesson and thought she'd torcher us ("Torcher us" being her actual words, we'd just finished our latest topic so had a spare lesson.)She deserves to suffer too. Put her throught a 24 hour marathon of dire movies, AND LET'S SEE HOW SHE LIKES IT!
Hellfire Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 The Red Dragon To be honest, I hardly remember Hannibal, but this one's pretty good too. The killer gets uninteresting pretty fast, though, the movie loses its charm when they show him.
Cube Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 The Shawshank Redemption. Saw it from the first time. Very good movie, does nothing wrong. It just seems like the kind of movie that doesn't really fit with more than one viewing. Thats why I'm only giving it: 8.5/10

Guest Jordan Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Seriously... you need to get your priorities redefined. Try appriciating someone elses opinion for once...
Supergrunch Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Seriously... you need to get your priorities redefined. What if I prioritise books over films? In most cases, I'd much rather read a book again than rewatch a film.
triforce_keeper Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Try appriciating someone elses opinion for once... I agree, he should at least try and not flame everyone who gives opinions on films that he doesn't agree with... I mean, it's all down to personal taste really.

Cube Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Seriously... you need to get your priorities redefined. Am I not allowed to like a good film?
Oxigen_Waste Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Am I not allowed to like a good film? You're allowed to like it, hell, I love it... it's just that the reason you chose to give it an 8.5, low replay value, is absolutely ludicrous. Everyone figured out how he was going to get out of prison before we were shown... it's how he handles the situation spiritually that is the story's greatness... It deserves a 10, and you know it. Jordan, I'm simply pointing out something stupid, not flaming him. I totally agree with him, except for one detail. And triforce... I'll take you seriously when you stop being such a lamer. Go buy some good taste. EDIT: What if I prioritise books over films? In most cases, I'd much rather read a book again than rewatch a film. Ah well, but Shawshank is one of those few cases in wich the film is highly superior to the source material. But hey, it's all fair, I love a good book myself.
Zell Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Am I not allowed to like a good film? I think he means that The Shawshank Redemption is well worth multiple sittings, and is way above the 8.5 you gave it. Or am I wrong?
Oxigen_Waste Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 I think he means that The Shawshank Redemption is well worth multiple sittings, and is way above the 8.5 you gave it. Or am I wrong? Can I get an Amen?
triforce_keeper Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Y And triforce... I'll take you seriously when you stop being such a lamer. Go buy some good taste. Yeah cuz I'm really going to stop enjoying films that you think are shit, and go watch films that will probably bore the crap out of me just to get someone of an forum to take me seriously.
