I think I was a bit late in cottoning onto that one in fairness! 

I don't think it was a mistake, though apparently those who purchased through them it showed a potential placeholder date of August 20th/27th, so it doesn't seem like they were completely ready. 

Just reminds me of the PS5 pre-order experience. PlayStation said "pre-orders open tomorrow" after that presentation and yet they randomly went up a lot of places just a couple of hours later and well into the night. 

Unfortunately, I don't think it was realistic to think that anyone but Nintendo, for their own online stores, were going to be able to hold off until the 8th/9th as they planned – the steps they took to purchase from them specifically are great to see, but yeah, total free-for-all everywhere else. Think it's just a case where retailers know their allocation and want their pre-orders locked in ASAP – I imagine that's pretty much all there is to it.

Just seen that ShopTo have now marked their Switch 2 'Register Your Interest' page as Sold Out – they've been open to people registering interest pretty much since the Switch 2 trailer dropped in Jan, so I'm guessing that means they've had enough registrations to fill their allocation? 

Sounds like they learned their lesson after the dumpster fire experience a lot of people had with them when it came to the PS5.

I probably won't be up in time to advise of this dropping if and when it does, but the Argos site is currently undergoing maintenance – so there's a decent chance that pre-orders could be going live this morning/later today?

They're not yet live (as evidenced by not being able to click through to them), but the pages for pre-order can now be seen on Argos, so it'll be worth keeping an eye on throughout the day as they could seemingly go live any minute- LINK

Argos sells eShop cards, so you can get discount on them. If you sub to their newsletter, they often send out discount codes so you can stack that with the work discount.

I work for Aviva which has an employment benefit giving access to a website that gives discounts for different retailers. For example, LG which meant I saved nearly a grand on an LG G3 OLED.  I even just get 8% of eShop purchases and 5% on PSN.

The Argos discounts are actually a discount on a Love2shop card and top ups, so can be used at other retailers.

Just got an email from ShopTo as well saying I wouldn't get one at launch, I hope my Smyths order is good!

Anyone have any experience with Smyths pre-order delivery? It looks like they use DPD and DHL, but just curious if anyone's had a good or particularly bad experience with them; asking as, at the moment, they seem to be my first (and only) locked in pre-order. 

ShopTo are starting to respond to reservations now – no luck on my end, haven't got one in the first batch and have automatically moved to Back Order 

Also @Happenstance did you request an invite from Amazon? I've still not heard anything back – can't tell if that means I'm out of the running or if they just haven't sorted them out yet

I haven't had anything from Amazon yet either - I'm assuming they haven't sorted it yet but could be wrong I suppose.

It’s rewardgateway.com, but this just takes you to the B2B website selling the platform to employers.

For the Aviva version (and presumably other employers) you need to register with your payroll number.

Looks like game and accessory pre-orders are starting to go up on ShopTo – pretty much everything I've seen is in line with Nintendo's RRP so far. Going to stick my name down for what I can and then test my luck with the Nintendo Store later in the month. 

Might be the lowest I've seen for a 256GB microSD Express card, though – £49.85 (lower if you're in their silver or gold tiers). 

Also, they currently have the Switch 2 Edition of Prime 4 listed as being £66, but obviously we haven't had confirmation of its RRP yet, so there's every chance it could be their next £75 title (I feel like there's a decent enough chance just considering the modes available) – so it might be worth sticking a pre-order in and making a potential saving there?
