Switch version coming down the road..? Apparently got deleted shortly after, but it's been spotted elsewhere on the site and during the game's promotion too.

Also, this is pretty neat. Comes with the original 1989 game!

And those screenshots look a little better.

Heavily rumoured the last few weeks, and it's here.
Looks pretty rough... :blank:

I think it's the faces that look a bit budget.

That old saying "body from Baywatch, face from Crimewatch" comes to mind.

Except the bodies look a bit shit, too.

I didn't know they were still making PS2/PS3 games.

Delayed from March 18th to an unspecified date. Which was originally delayed from January 21st.

Pretty much par for the course with Ubisoft releases these last couple of years. They have a slate of 2 or 3 games for the start of the year and then one by one, they're all delayed indefinitely. Likely see this alongside Far Cry 6 and Riders Republic in the October-December going by how they've handled it in previous years. Gives this plenty more time in the oven as it was looking rough to say the least.

Yeah, this remake is never coming out.  It's gonna be quietly shitcanned forever and then Ubisoft will pretend it never existed.

Probably for the best.  They're not capable of doing the series and this game justice anymore anyway.

If anyone really wanted to play Prince of Persia: Sands of Time then there are many different versions of it across GC, PS2, Xbox, PC... plus a GBA version.

There's even Prince of Persia Trilogy on the PS2, plus a later PS3 HD version, unless there's something wrong with those versions?

I can only speak for the quality of the games on the GameCube, I'd imagine that they still hold up pretty well today though.

Also, I just checked and the Xbox version is backwards compatible on the Xbox One. ::shrug:

Yeah, this game just got Metroid Prime 4'd; as did Ubisoft India.

Calling it now.  This game will never release.

Edit:  Oh wait, I forgot that I already predicted that before... Well... I'm predicting it again

2026 it is.

Ya know, they've won me over. Relaunching the game's marketing with a CGI candle has made me do a complete 180° on this game.

Per the recently released Ubisoft financial earnings report, this will be releasing this financial year (1st April 2025 to 31st March 2026):

Quote

The FY2025-26 guidance will benefit from strong back-catalog that will notably rely on Assassin's Creed Shadows and the release of Siege X which is expected to strongly grow franchise net bookings, regular partnerships as well as the following line-up: Anno 117: Pax Romana™, Prince of Persia™: The Sands of Time remake, Rainbow Six® Mobile and The Division® Resurgence. Other titles will be announced at a later stage.

Considering that they've previously said 2026, I guess that means they're aiming for Q1 2026 – unless they were factoring in GTA VI as a Fall 2025 release and are going to bump it up the schedule following that game's delay? ::shrug:
