Hello, I'm curmudgeoning again.

This stuff is bollocks. I don't understand why, if you're trying to make a serious story-driven game with tense gameplay, you'd want to undo it with these naff ideas, all of which require fiddly button commands. The combat options available in 4 were already superfluous. The porn mags in Sons of Liberty were bullshit enough, but at least they functioned somewhat differently to the other items at your disposal. Now you can piss all over the AI no matter what sort of scrape you get into.

Kojima reminds me of Spielberg at his worst

Admittedly it isn't a well-contructed set-piece to start with (Minority Report is an abomination), but just when you think you're ready for an action sequence you're fed some wry, half-baked comedy that thinks its cleverer than it is. Kojima is a pervert with a rotten attitude who can't resist the urge to put half-naked girls in his game, and nobody has the nerve to tell him to grow up.

Haven't unlocked it yet. Hopefully I'll do it tonight :)

@dwarf gourami you really hate Kojima and his games, don't you? :p

I hate his ego and his excess. He can make a game, a bloody good game at that, but he can't help but jeopardize it with his fluffly ideas and defective sense of humour. He isn't a master of his talents, he's a slave to his idle indulgences. It really irks me, there's an aura of smugness about him in the way he courts his following as well. He has the ability and the scaffolding around him to do so much more, BUT HE FUCKING TAINTS EVERYTHING. ARGH!

*gnashing of teeth*

Neither do I, but to look at him, he's the sort of person who'd ask his fans to address him 'Dear Leader'.

The comedy clashes with his attempt to depict war as something grave and timeless. You can't have anything serious to say about war if your actual battles are about arousing men with scantily-clad carboard cut-out women.

The thing is, all the silly, comedic stuff is optional. You can easily play all the way through the game without ever dropping a porn mag or even getting in a box. If you want to immerse yourself in a solid (heh), serious stealth game, you can. If you want to have a laugh, that's an option too. Not many other games have invested as much time and detail into simply giving you different ways to play. Personally, I'll probably not do anything of the stuff shown off in the demo, but I'll still enjoy the game.

Sorry for the double post...but that Déjà Vu mission.

@Hero\-of\-Time Did you enjoy it as much as I did? :D I fucking loved it. Sooooo good.

Need to do it again and wipe away all the logos. : peace:

What impressed me the most, though: This game serves as a demo, a brief look at what Phantom Pain has to offer. It still amazes me how dynamic the stealth and the action are in Ground Zeroes.

And surely there are much, much more options/approaches you have in the "full" game...

I cannot fucking wait. :yay:
