Yeah, it was pointless even before these type of numbers came out. The day of the dedicated gaming machine in Japan seems to be to an end. Crazy. Japan used to be such a power house in the industry in terms of sales and talent. Most of the developers aren't a patch on what they used to be. Just look at Konami and Capcom. It's another classic example of no games. Last month, the Xbox One sold less than the 360 did in any April from 2006 through 2013. PS4 wasn't that much higher. I think it's no killer games, rather than no games. I have quite the collection of One games, despite it only being 6 months old and I have enjoyed them all immensely. I think another issue is that games are either still just being released on the last gen consoles still or they are being released on both. It will be interesting to see what number Batman does when it finally arrives. You can't blame the developers though. I mean, there is a massive user base still out there with 360s and PS3s. It's a country focused on gaming on the go; set top boxes don't have the same effect over there. As for the U.S, of course it's floundering. The Wii U and XBO both gambled on a gimmick which hugely inflated the price of the console, of course they aren't going to sell. If they can get some killer games out for the end of the year and the price down even further ( maybe more bundles ) then I think they may recover a bit. I have to say, this generation had been great to watch so far. It's had so many twists and turns already. The incremental change of the second digit to CUH-1106A seems to indicate an evolution akin to the passage from the first model of the PS3 slim equipped with a 65nm RSX graphics chip (CECH-2001A) to the second model eqiopped with a 40nm one (CECH-2101A).The number also seems to exclude a simple evolution in the size of the hard disk, as that would be indicated by the change of the letter at the end of the code (CUH-1006A would become CUH-1006B). http://www.dualshockers.com/2014/05/21/new-ps4-and-ps3-models-possibly-outed-by-certification-request-filed-by-sony/ Nothing the consumer would notice, but cheaper to produce. PS4 has the second worst sales for the first 14 weeks of any game device (handheld and console) for the last two generations.
