I'm not sure any of this film will take part on Earth though will it, meaning that they'd need to show Iron Man in a functioning Space Suit at some point in IM3, because currently Space fucks him right up! (and if he just flew down in Guardians of the Galaxy it would be really WTF!)

Stark: Ready the Mk 7-III, Javis.

Jarvis: I would remind you the Mk7-III hasn't been fully tested.

Stark: But you know I wouldn't listen.

STARK gets in his private lift.

CUT TO the top of Stark Tower. An object cannons out, we don't know what it is. The camera zooms in. It's STARK as IRON MAN, he's flying directly up.

CUT TO inside IRON MAN's helmet.

Stark: Jarvis, tell Gwyneth Paltrow...tell her...

Jarvis: I'll think of something, sir.

Stark: That a boy. Here goes nothing. To infinity...

CUT BACK TO exterior shot. We can't hear STARK finish his line. There is an air shattering sound as he accelerates past the speed of sound in a near instant. In space he meets the second part of his suit which latches onto his current one. He's good to go.

STARK turns back to Earth for one last look.

Stark: Huh...I guess it is kinda small.

Then he's gone. Boomed into hyperspace. Onto a new adventure as a GUARDIAN OF THE GALAXY.

OR something to that effect.

ZERO DARK THIRTY's Chris Pratt Cast As GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY's 'Star-Lord'

Deadline reports that Chris Pratt will play 'Star-Lord' in James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy. He beat co-star Joel Edgerton and the likes of Boardwalk Empire's Jack Huston to nab this lead role. The actor recently bulked up considerably in order to play one of the heroic Navy Seals in Academy Award nominated movie Zero Dark Thirty. He also impressed critics as 'Scott Hatteberg' in Moneyball and has tacked comedy in the likes of Parks and Recreation, The Five-Year Engagement and Movie 43.

Nova Corps to Appear in Guardians of the Galaxy?

The latest word from the Guardians of the Galaxy rumor mill suggests that the Nova Corps -- essentially Marvel's answer to DC's Green Lantern Corps -- may be making an appearance in the upcoming superhero flick.

According to AICN, a source tells them that the Nova Corps is "definitely a part of the movie." And considering Kevin Feige's statement earlier this week that 95 percent of Guardians is set in space, it seems likely that this could happen.

In the comics, the Nova Corps is Xandar's space militia and exploration division comprised of 500 soldiers in various ranks. Its protective range includes the entire Andromeda Galaxy and Earth.

Guardians of the Galaxy has James Gunn set to direct and hits theaters August 1, 2014.

CONFIRMED: Dave Bautista Is 'Drax' In Marvel's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

After the former WWE wrestler proved himself to be a formidable onscreen threat in the action-packed The Man With the Iron Fists, Dave Bautista has landed the role of 'Drax' in James Gunn and Marvel Studios' big screen adaptation of Guardians of the Galaxy.

Various reports have indicated that Marvel Studios have been closing in on their 'Drax the Destroyer' for Guardians of the Galaxy over the past few weeks now, with Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista said to be the two frontrunners. Well, The Hollywood Reporter has now confirmed that the mixed martial artist and WWE wrestler Dave Bautista has closed his deal to play the character in James Gunn's big screen adaptation. The site describes the character as, "a human resurrected as a green warrior with the sole purpose of killing Thanos (the villain in the final-scene tease of Avengers). His powers include flight, super-strength and energy blasts." Bautista joins Chris Pratt (Star-Lord) in the movie which is currently set to be released on August 1st, 2014.

Michael Rooker, hot off his turn as Merle in The Walking Dead, has joined the cast of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. Rooker will play Yondu, one of the original Guardians from the comics.

Deadline has the report on Rooker's casting, which is no surprise at all considering the actor's friendship with director James Gunn. The pair have worked together previously on Slither and Super.

What is surprising is the inclusion of Yondu at all. In the comics he was part of the first team called the Guardians of the Galaxy, the group from (an alternate reality version of) the 31st century whose membership consisted of various creatures who were the last of their race. Yondu hailed from Centauri-IV and was a bow-and-arrow "tribal" type. This is an entirely different team from the one we know the Marvel film will focus on, including Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Groot and Rocket Raccoon.

Is it too much to hope now for a Vance Astro appearance as well, complete with Captain America's shield from the future?

Just a bit of talk...

Feige went on to talk about Marvel's upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy, which he believes will pleasantly surprise audiences. (But let's be serious, how can you not love a talking Raccoon?)

"It's a huge story on a massive canvas," Feige explained. "We can take it to all those crazy places as long as all the characters respond in an emotionally truthful way. That's why I believe people are going to respond to Chris Pratt and to an alien Zoe Saldana -- because they did respond to that one time before [with Avatar]. And to a tree and a raccoon who, it is certainly our intention, will steal the whole movie."

But just how Marvel-y will the movie be? "Guardians takes place within the continuity of the [other movies] but it's on the other side of the universe," Feige continued. "We've always wanted to do a space movie. I'm obsessed with Star Wars, I'm obsessed with Star Trek."

Zoe Saldana talks about the role

Also...

In another interview with Total Film, Saldana revealed that she'll be back in London in just a few weeks to begin shooting Guardians. When asked if she'd be going mo-cap for the film, a la her role in Avatar, the actress enthusiastically replied, "No, she's definitely going to be makeup, so it'll be me. Thank God!"
