I'm pretty sure most of the characters in the trailer had been officially announced recently...and probably aren't cameos, but more fully fledged or supporting roles. As for showing off the story... 2 hours ago, Ronnie said: Yep that trailer gave the entire film away. I think WB have long been in a very weird position with this film, from the originally slated 2018 Flash film to now, there have been dozens of writers attached to the project. There's the whole Ezra Miller controversy. And instead of being a solo outing, it's adapting Flashpoint, probably the best known Flash arc, to soft reset the DCEU and lead into the new DCU alongside the new Aquaman movie and close up shop on the mess of the last 10 years of DCEU projects. Way I see it, they're in the final stretch of a school project but have no idea how to conclude yet want desperately for it to be over...so naturally the conclusion is to just throw the kitchen sink at us with the trailer I'm more surprised that the film is even seeing a release if I'm honest, yes it's a $200M+ film but given the mess of its production and surrounding controversies, and the fact that the HBO Max Batgirl movie (with a reported $90M budget) got cancelled kind of compounds my surprise that this has somehow stayed above water all these years. Reports also say it's tested well with audiences, but that means almost nothing these days
Ashley Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 I saw a while ago that this movie was announced when The Flash was in its first season and the show will wrap it's 8th and final season around the time (I think just before) it's even out.

I mean, to make it sound even worse and twist the knife a bit because that's always fun: The Flash (TV show) premiered on 7th October 2014, and The Flash movie was announced on 15th October 2014, meaning the show was just two episodes in before a big budget blockbuster movie with a new Flash was announced. Y'know, just in case the last decade wasn't evidence enough of how poorly WB has handled the DCEU
bob Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 It has some No Way Home vibes - it looks good despite all the evidence to the contrary.
Hero-of-Time Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Finally got around to watching The Flash. What a fun movie. It was a great take on the Flashpoint storyline and the humour was spot on. The only bad point was the shoddy CGI. Spoiler Absolutely loved the cameo of Nic Cage and Christopher Reeve as Superman. Completely howled when Clooney showed up at the end.
Happenstance Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Think I was the complete opposite, thought it was a terrible movie and am very glad this era of DC is now over. 1

Oh, I'm very much in the minority with this one. Most people hated it. I'm looking forward to seeing what Gunn can do with these franchises. It's looking promising given the stories he is wanting to draw inspiration from. Also, I loved his take on Suicide Squad. Much better than the first one. 1
Julius Posted April 10 Posted April 10 (edited) First full trailer for Joker: Folie à Deux Half expected for the trailer to break out into Wonka's Pure Imagination based on those early piano keys that last shot with the glass is wonderful, reminded me a bit of the Joker teaser poster for The Dark Knight. Not really sure where I stand on the first film to be honest, so might need to give it a re-watch before this releases. Joaquin felt the right call for the Oscar (probably a bit overdue tbh) as he gave a great performance, but the film in general I wasn't a huge fan of, especially with how much it aped off Scorsese; lovingly or not, it just didn't sit right with me. Also felt like it leaned into and gave a few toxic corners of the internet a bit too much to fester on. Very curious to see which direction the musical aspect of this film takes, if it's just one song or a good few, because I mean, you don't hire Lady Gaga as Harley to not have her sing a couple of times, right? Happenstance Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Not too sure on the new Superman suit for the next movie. Doesn't exactly look like it fits him right, wouldn't go under his regular clothes and they brought the shitty collar back 😭 1
Eddage Posted May 8 Posted May 8 So is he always gonna be wearing turtle necks? Don't see how else he can hide that damn collar 1
drahkon Posted July 23 Posted July 23 "Shout "hallelujah", c'mon get happy" Always reminds me of: Anyways, can't wait for the new Joker!
Julius Posted July 27 Posted July 27 Teaser for Creature Commandos from SDCC: And the new DC Studios logo (which will also be getting used for DC Comics also, but you know, minus the 'Studios' part ) ~ 1
Hero-of-Time Posted July 27 Posted July 27 (edited) DC related but not movies related. A sneak peek of the final season of Superman and Lois has been released. I guess they are doing the Death of Superman storyline? Have you ever watched this series, @Happenstance? It gets a lot of praise from DC/comic book fans. Edited July 27 by Hero-of-Time

I watched the first season. It was fine but at that point I'd just gotten bored of the DC shows on TV so wasn't interested in sticking with it. 1
Julius Posted July 28 Posted July 28 (edited) Trailer for The Penguin: Looks great. I really enjoyed The Batman, and I'm kind of hoping they sneak in a small role for him here just to tide us over until the next Batman film. I mean, just imagine a final episode where they're squaring off in the middle of a gang war and one by one radios go out and men go down. Like a boogeyman. Would love to see it. Might be time for a rewatch of The Batman now that I think about it... Edited July 28 by Julius
Happenstance Posted October 10 Posted October 10 I see Kyle Chandler has been announced as Hal Jordan in the DCU https://www.threads.net/@jamesgunn/post/DA6xgohvnlf?xmt=AQGz276WBK9c6I7xMRsxVPt20AzV4keo3XpbTROtdOAnDA
Julius Posted October 15 Posted October 15 Krypto is going to be in Superman, apparently, which has caught me a bit off-guard but I mean I'm here for it:

I thought that as well at first but after so many years of darker depictions of these characters I'm kind of interested to see where they go with this now. 1
