Ashley Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Actually the only phrase that does annoy me is "blatantly obvious". They mean the same thing! You want "patently obviously".
Coolness Bears Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 "Definately" annoys me. Lulz! I used to do that all the time/if i'm honest still do, I thought that's how it was spelt for AGES.
Paj! Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 "Definately" annoys me. The scottish version is annoying. Deehhf-ih-nehhht-leeh, said really slowly with loads of draaaaagggging out of each section.
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 It's really just the misspelling that annoys me.
EEVILMURRAY Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Lulz! This. And people who actually say "lol", they're not laughing. Those who type it and its many variants are rarely laughing, and they're never rolling on the floor.
Cube Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 You mean you have never rolled on the floor while laughing so hard that your arse literally falls off?
Coolness Bears Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 I am definitely laughing when I use lulz I think the little z is uber cute and it makes me chuckle.
EEVILMURRAY Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 You mean you have never rolled on the floor while laughing so hard that your arse literally falls off? It has happened in my past, but I never told anyone about it. Especially in lazy-ass typing.
Nolan Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 I have actually witnessed two accounts of people rolfing....er not being sick I mean. Rolfing sounds like being sick.
EEVILMURRAY Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 I have actually witnessed two accounts of people rolfing....er not being sick I mean. Rolfing sounds like being sick. If that like rofl'ing?
Nolan Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 It's like laughing so hard you can't hold still or stay standing/sitting.
EEVILMURRAY Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 It's like laughing so hard you can't hold still or stay standing/sitting. I'll take that as a yes
Ellmeister Posted August 5, 2011 Author Posted August 5, 2011 This. And people who actually say "lol", they're not laughing. Those who type it and its many variants are rarely laughing, and they're never rolling on the floor. I dislike when people say "Get to the choppah" because in fact, they never do.
EEVILMURRAY Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 (edited) I dislike when people say "Get to the choppah" because in fact, they never do. I agree. Thank fuck that's not directed at me - I can assure you I used a knife only ten minutes ago. Edited August 5, 2011 by EEVILMURRAY
EddieColeslaw Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 "Definately" annoys me. My French teacher in secondary school used to write that on the board all of the time :/
Nolan Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 I dislike when people say "Get to the choppah" because in fact, they never do. What if you're playing Left 4 Dead and trying to get to the helicopter.
The Peeps Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 I do actually say that all the time when racing across the bridge on Parish /l4d2.
Ellmeister Posted August 5, 2011 Author Posted August 5, 2011 I hate it when people prove me wrong :p
Charlie Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 It annoys me when people say "I hate people who do X" rather than "I hate it when people do X". No, you don't hate the person, you hate what they're doing.
EEVILMURRAY Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 It annoys me when people say "I hate people who do X" rather than "I hate it when people do X". No, you don't hate the person, you hate what they're doing. They could hate both.
MoogleViper Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 It annoys me when people say "I hate people who do X" rather than "I hate it when people do X". No, you don't hate the person, you hate what they're doing. Depends what it is. You could hate them for doing said thing. e.g. I hate people who rape women. I hate the act and the people (the rapists not the women). Besides most of it isn't incorrect, just glorious hyperbole.
