The people who make Forza and the people who make Gran Turismo need to get together. Between them, they have the perfect racing game. GT has the car collecting element nailed and Forza has the fun yet realistic racing done nicely.

What I really didn't like about Forza 3 was the way the races were presented to you. I didn't like that you only ever had 3 races to choose from. I much prefer GTs way of doing it. Just show a tonne of races and it was up to you to decide which one you wanted to do. I found myself just doing the same things on Forza all the time. In GT, I pick a race I want to do next and get a car to suit. Found that there was much more incentive to try new cars in GT.

That said, everything else about Forza 3 was ace. I loved the customisation and the way the cars drove.

I'm confused by the head tracking. So you turn your head a bit to see what's to the side of you... are you then not looking that much away from the screen? Surely you then don't have to watch the screen out the corner of your eye to see what you've turned your head to look at?

Ever seen head tracking devices for PC simulations? They basically translate very subtle head movements in larger ingame movements. Of course it's not 1:1... :heh:

Ah right ok, no I haven't seen it being used before. As long as it feels satisfying enough and it's not overly exagerating your movements.

It's incredibly useful for simulations and actually a really cool way to use Kinect if it works well with Forza:

So was I the only person on the forum who actually bothered to buy Forza 4 on launch? :heh:

Seriously, it's a truly fantastic game that has the driving experience completely nailed... I'm currently playing it with the new Microsoft Speed Wheel plus Kinect being used for the head-tracking and it's very much like driving should be, very impressed thus far. :D

Also, anyone who has the game and is planning on getting all of the dlc, there's a season pass available which will likely save you a good few hundred MS points. :)

Nah. :heh: I bought it and I think Jimbob has it aswell.

Awesome... now show it some love! :heh: [/half serious]

But seriously, I hope you're both enjoying it as the game is easily the best yet in the series. :D

Quick question, here... my dad is interested in a sim racer, and obviously this is the main contender, but... is it possible to unlock all the cars from the start? Because nobody's going to play through it and he won't even play it unless the cars are unlocked.

Yeah, i most certainly have Forza 4 as well. Always up for online fun with it, i'm looking at you H.O.T and S.C.G.

It is indeed a great Forza game, most certainly the best i've played and i've played them all. Love the Top Gear addition to the game. In honest opinion, who else did a lap of the track with the "reasonably priced car" as the first thing they did.

When i bought it, GAME offered me a wireless steering wheel as well for £35. Anyone pick it up??.

The cars are unlocked already, you only "unlock" them in career mode. By that, i mean purchase them and upgrade them. Other than that, as far as i know all the cars are in the game and unlocked.

So... since the game is only going to be used for quick races and some very rare occasions of multiplayer... in those instances, every single car is unlocked from the get go, is that correct?

Yes, that is correct.

You will need to play career to earn money to upgrade the cars though.

I'll "forget" to mention that to him, and he'll be none the wiser. I trust McLarens and Bugatti's will already be more than good enough without upgrades... which is essentially why the man wants the game... to drive cars he will never afford.

Oh, the Bugatti's are most certainly good enough. Especially the Bugatti Veyron SS. Boy, thats a belter indeed. Depending on your level from the 3rd game (if you leveled that is), you get some cars given to you for career mode. Don't worry, you can use these cars already in "quick race" and "multiplayer"
