david.dakota Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Cammie Dunaway leaves Nintendo of America IGN is reporting that Cammie Dunaway is leaving Nintendo on October 1st, 2010. She will be taking a post outside the video game industry within an undisclosed.
Kav Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Awesome news! She really annoyed me. I mean she REALLY annoyed me!
Dante Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 She didnt come across annoying in GiantBomb interviews.
mcj metroid Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 I get the feeling the abuse she was getting got to her to be honest.
Emasher Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 She's wasn't doing E3s anymore anyway, so I'm not sure I really even care.
LostOverThere Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 I always got her confused with Sarah Palin.
Nolan Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 I get the feeling the abuse she was getting got to her to be honest. I always got her confused with Sarah Palin. Holy coincidence. I clicked on the thread to read the new post (yours LOT), and as the thread loads I start thinking of mcj's post and how Palin quit because of all the abuse. Then bam, there's your post echoing the same thought.
daftada Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 So she's leaving the game industry? Hardly surprising given the immature abuse levelled at her by certain sectors of the gaming hardcore. It's a shame as she was actually pretty good at her job.
LostOverThere Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Wait, why are we jumping to conclusions about her jumping ship due to negativity? Surely if that got to her she would have done it when people actually cared about her (2008). Has she given a reason or is it just speculation?
killer kirby Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Truth be told I don't care about what she represented and what not, but it's just...her...image. I had nightmares from that scary bitch I think I'll be able to look at Nintendo again without scaring my eyes.
Pit-Jr Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Bummer! I like batshit insane people and she clearly was
Ramar Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 It's a shame as she was actually pretty good at her job. Was she? How do you know? What did she do apart from that shocking E3 that time..
darksnowman Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 She did this? I'm suddenly gonna miss her.
Gentleben Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 I think it takes a long time for someone to grow into a high profile role in the gaming sector. I would imagine a lot of the hate/abuse was people refusing to accept Cammie as the new front of Nintendo marketing. Wonder who her replacement is going to be?
Ashley Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 ReZ. You'll soon be wishing for more Cammie!
Fierce_LiNk Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 She did this? She's quite nice in that interview. I liked her. She seems quite different to how she acts on stage. Maybe she's not the sort for those types of conferences.
Zechs Merquise Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 She did this? She didn't seem to do or say anything bad there!
LostOverThere Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 That was a surprisingly awesome interview...
mcj metroid Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 She did this? what about it? Please elaborate..
Konfucius Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 what about it? Please elaborate.. I don't see what's so amazing either. Actually stopped halfway through it, just typical corporate talk it seemed to me.
