As expected. Funny how 4 of 7 goals were penalty shots and only one unrelated yellow card. My reserve keeper has already reached 11 in dev value after one match so it's back to my best one for a while.

Yeah very strange about all the penalties! I played quite a bit of youth this game so I'm glad I got the result I wanted.

Testini is dev value 12 after 2 games and average form 17.... Hoping for a double jump to a 19 7!

I got a goal

So I got a win

I had my plan

It's the best that I can do

Now we'll say it's in my youth goalies hands

But he doesn't always have the best goddamn hands, does he?

Haden United 1-0 Mcoys Sons

Haden United beat a resilient Sons side to score an important win. United played 4-4-2 and looked superb all across the pitch, the Sons played 3-5-2 but were unable to halt the strength of Uniteds midfield. With United dominating both possession (61-39) and chances (5-3) they were always on top, the in form Durov swung in a free kick that Marconossi blasted home to put them in the lead before the first half ended. When the captian Jbil got taken off badly injured the Sons lost a sense of cohesion but managed to stop United scoring any more. Avallone who has been superb this season at the back for United was again great today and stopped all Sons advances. United shoot back into the title race while Sons suffer a minor setback.

Battlestar Odwinica 3-1 Silverdale Hotpot

This was a fixture that the Silverdale manager had singled out as one that needed his attention, however it ended in disappointment as Odwinica rocked back from a bad run with a much needed win. Biggins after a nightmare first game this season was recalled and played much better in goal, Odwinicas 4-3-3 shape matched an ambition to play attacking football against a 4-4-2 Silverdale. Dinicolantonio shot the aggressive Silverdale into an early lead, aside from a couple of yellow cards and minor injury it was a quiet 1st half. Caskey crossed in a brilliant free kick that Riley shot in just after the 2nd half started, however Howarth delivered his own superb free kick that Groves toe poked in to give Odwinica back the lead. Groves was having a superb match and popped up again soon after to swing in a cross for Coles to flick in with his head. Silverdale were a more creative force in the 2nd half but couldn't score a goal to show for it, Dinicolantonio had a penalty chance to score a 2nd near the end of the game but Lacey tipped it past the post to save Silverdales blushes. This was a great win for Odwinica but a setback for Silverdale.

Madpool 1-1 Dysonism F.C

The current league leaders went against current champs in the biggest match this season, a contrast in styles ended with a 1-1 draw. Madpool played their preferred 4-5-1 formation while Dysonism went for a aggressive 3-4-3, Madpool dominated the chances in the 1st half but had nothing to show for it. Madpool were hit by two injuries to veterans but their youths seemed to rally to prove themselves, indeed it was the 21 year old Trainer who volleyed home a Carey corner for his 4th goal of the season. Dysonism were desperate to get something out of the game and Sandford swung in a corner 3 minutes later that Boland bundled home. Dysonism looked very dangerous in this match but Madpools midfield control of chances (6-2) saved them again, having dropped their first points of the season Madpool look touchable but still have the advantage in this league.

Roostophe Rovers 4-1 DuDs Baggies

Rovers got their first win of the season against fellow struggler's Baggies, Rovers played 3-4-3 against a 3-5-2 Baggies formation. Mazzoleni smashed in a long shot as Rovers started in a boisterous mood, Badderley headed in an equalizer for Baggies to make it 1-1 going into the half time break. Mongington linked with Digby providing him with a breakaway and heading opportunity to put Rovers into cruise mode at 3-1. By this point the Baggies looked utterly deflated, Rovers were on a roll with 11 chances to 2, Mortimer blasted in a curling Sheldon corner to finish the game off. Rovers looked like a creative powerhouse while the Baggies just look sunk.

Most Important Result: Haden United 1-0 Mcoys Sons, with Madpool and Dysonism drawing this was a vital game for United to win.

Turned on the Style Award: Roostophe Rovers, 11 chances and 4 goals sublime!

Player of the Day: Nicolo Avallone, Haden United, has been in sterling form as of late and helped United keep another clean sheet.

Will try and update other games over weekend. Good luck everyone tom!

Haha, and I could easily counter that formation :heh:

Mcoy thinks a 4 - 2 - 4 would work nicely against It as well (Mcoy has never played such an odd formation as he has a strong midfield)

4 defenders + mark the striker/tighten the center reduce the goal scoring chances from midfield and attack.

Long balls avoid the midfield battle

4 strikers against 4 defenders could create a lot of goals but would really depend if longballs worked or not. Mcoy loves all the randomness in tactics that can make the difference.

I like the fact that people actually fear my team :heh: my team has come a long way :)

Mcoy dosen't fear your team, You've got some good vets with high skill who are having a good run but Mcoy wouldn't exactly say he's dreading his game against you.

Mcoy is far more worried about games against teams fighting for the mid spots like Dud's and Battlestar who can just pull new tactics out of nowhere and catch you off guard, Mcoy dosen't really see himself as a title contender but the midleague fight is always the most dreaded.

They see me winning.

They hating.

PRing tryna catch me dirty tricking.

Silverdale Hotpot 2-0 Noodle Esporte Clube

Silverdale secured a much needed home win against fellow promoted side Noodle. Silverdale played their usual 4-4-2 against a Noodle 4-5-1, despite their midfield advantage Noodle found themselves chasing the game. They racked up 5 yellow cards trying to slow it down and had 2 chances against 3 for Silverdale. Caskey swung in a corner for the in form Sidwell to power home just before half time. Youth striker Hudson has always been in Sidwells shadow but made a name for himself today, curling home a peach of a goal for his first of the season. With only one striker Noodle lacked the teeth to respond. The win was a vital one for Silverdale to regain some momentum, while Noodle are starting to lose all of theirs.

Dysonism F.C 1-2 Roostophe Rovers

Yes it is that fixture again! With Dysonism having won the last 4 of these clashes in a row all money was placed on a repeat performance as Dysonism lined up with a 3-5-2 formation against a 4-4-2 Rovers shape. Monington immediately exposed a weakened Dysonism defense with a telling through ball that Mazzoleni latched onto and hit into the corner after a first time shot. Chances were sparse as the game moved into the second half, Mazzoleni was a problem Dysonism could not cope with as he again found space and headed in a crossed ball into the back post of an unguarded net. Spirito hit back with a curling direct free kick to make it 2-1 to Rovers, however despite the man advantage Rovers controlled the chances made. They made 5 compared to 4 for Dysonism, Sheldon was outstanding as a solid central player for Rovers. When the final whistle blew the Rovers fans were ecstatic, finally a win after so long against their most formidable rival! For Dysonism it will be a gutting defeat after last season things could only go downhill but this will be a bitter pill to swallow.

DuDs Baggies 1-2 Mcoys Sons

The Sons bounced back after their loss to United to pour more misery on Baggies awful campaign. Baggies played 3-5-2 against a Sons 4-5-1 formation, both teams suffered injuries in a hard hitting match that also saw 2 yellow cards. The Sons looked the more up for this game and Heckinbottom sent Alvardo through to make it 1-0 before half time. It has to be said Jevons for the Sons looked poor up front by himself, however with chance after chance being made the Sons gained a 2nd when Canham headed the ball in his own net. Baddeley punted in a long range shot moments later but it was to little to late for the Baggies who deserved to lose. The Sons took a risk playing a solo forward but the amount of chances they made, 8 against 4 for Baggies more than made up for it. The Sons move up to 3rd and look like they can beat anyone, Baggies stay rooted to the bottom looking like the first definite relegation candidates this season.

Battlestar Odwinica 2-1 Madpool

Odwinicas manager showed his veteran talent as his team was the first to beat Madpool this season. Choosing to play 4-4-2 against the 4-5-1 Madpool formation Odwinica went for strength in all areas to combat Madpools specialist tactics. Odwinica were in front after mere seconds, Madpool looked disorganized for once and Bello lofted a ball above Madpool heads to find Oy who chested it down and volleyed it in. 2 minutes later Carey was taken down in a bad challenge that saw him subbed for youth midfielder Sedgewick, a big blow for Madpool but it has to be said Sedgewick played outstandingly. Yet again though Bello held up play and found Groves who blasted home a long shot. Madpool were left looking desperate and went in for several late challenges resulting in 3 yellow cards. They made 8 chances but Odwinicas defense and of course star goalie stopped shot after shot from a rampaging Madpool. Finally Hiles headed one past Backer deep into injury time but by then it was to late. Odwinica have pulled off a great tactical victory over Madpool today, using all their strengths to beat them. Madpool have suffered their first loss but must now get straight back into winning ways to keep their title dreams alive.

Most Important Result: Battlestar Odwinica 2-1 Madpool, Odwinica show they want to stay up by taking the scalp of previously unbeaten Madpool.

Turned on the Style Award: Roostophe Rovers, played with more style for the first time in a while when paired against their foes Dysonism.

Player of the Day: Bert-Ove Bäcker, Battlestar Odwinica, the goalie was immense today helping give Madpool their first loss by keeping them at bay for 94 minutes.

Just popped in to say sorry I'm falling behind on the reports folks, I'm not so much busy as I've got one or two potentially-important pots on the boil at the mo. I'll keep on them and at some point I'll have to knuckle down and do a super-update like I did last season. :heh:

Peace.
