drahkon Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 What's special about Reistance 3's multiplayer that sets itself apart from other's?
dwarf Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Resistance multiplayer is arcadey, fast paced, has awesome weapons, and generally just very playable/fun to be good at. FPS' are all about the 'feel', and this just happens to suit me down to the ground. Exciting prospects.
Cookyman Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Sex now please Cooky? Oh ok then - *bends over and lubes up*

dwarf Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 Apparently IGN are doing a 'Resistance 3 blowout' tomorrow. But 'blow-out' is a euphemism for 'muffled fart' when it comes to gaming sites claiming reveals and shit like that.
dwarf Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Boxart Without the shitty Move logo that would be a nice cover.
flameboy Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 (edited) Boxart Without the shitty Move logo that would be a nice cover. wow I love it. Very different to the 1st two box arts although does tie back to the 1st one with its skull on the floor. Love the skyline at the bottom of the skull... I know zero about this game but enjoyed it. Reckon I will be done with Killzone 3 by the time this hits and ready for it. Edited May 18, 2011 by flameboy
ReZourceman Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Without the shitty Move logo that would be a nice cover. I was going to say exactly the same thing.
LegoMan1031 Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 (edited) RELEASE DATE: 9TH SEPTEMBER 2011 for UK Special Edition Not only will this look awesome on your shelf, (the array of logos are on a perspex o-ring which you can remove) but this version will also come complete with a very cool ‘vinyl effect’ blu-ray disc (complete with the ribbed vinyl effect on the surface). SRPA Black Ops skin: Once a common sight in the war against the Chimera, this special SRPA Black Ops multiplayer skin lets you return to the battlefield as one of the most mysterious and deadly soldiers from Resistance 2 and Resistance: Fall of Man. Infected Nathan Hale skin: By skipping his viral inhibitor treatment throughout Resistance 2, Nathan Hale fell victim to the deadly Chimera virus. Now you can resurrect the fallen hero with this special multiplayer character skin. Air Fuel grenade: Equip Joseph Capelli with an explosive advantage as he embarks on his journey across America. This exclusive grenade releases a cloud of highly flammable vapour, creating a huge blast when ignited – perfect for taking out hordes of Chimera in tight urban spaces. Multiplayer booster: Get an early advantage on the multiplayer battlefield by starting the fight at level 5 – and gain access to a range of character and weapon customisation options. Special multiplayer title: “Sentinel” Pledge your allegiance to the elite unit of the SRPA – the Sentinels – with this multiplayer title, exclusive to pre-order customers. Chimera tooth necklace: Show your support for the resistance by wearing Joseph Capelli’s Chimera tooth necklace. Surviver Edition Everything in the special edition plus: Canvas satchel Capelli’s rugged and reliable satchel, ideal for long journeys across the ravaged American landscape. Chimera firing range target Know your enemy; perfect your aim or take out your frustrations on this life-size Chimera target poster. “Fight for Freedom” toy soldiers Play out the battle on a small scale with these toy soldiers depicting Joseph Capelli and Chimera fighters. Joseph Capelli’s Journal Read Capelli’s notes on the journey ahead of him, the enemies he’ll face and the weapons he’ll use – and start writing your own story as you fight the Chimera. SRPA hip flask Keep the cold at bay or give yourself the courage to fight on with this standard issue SRPA soldier’s hip flask. SRPA playing cards Pass the time between battles with this deck of SRPA soldier’s playing cards. Source: Playstation Blog It states that most of the content from the special edition can be available as a pre-order bonus (except steel case and vinal style blu ray disc), however in America it seems that only one item is available (from the list) depending on which retailer you choose to pre-order with, i am assuming that this will be the same for the UK. flameboy Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 ooooh I may get the special edition just because the disk looks awesome! Too much junk in the survivor edition for me to care about.
LegoMan1031 Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 I will wait to see the prices first, neither Resistance wowed me per say so at this stage i'm not sure how willing i am to pay full price.
flameboy Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 I will wait to see the prices first, neither Resistance wowed me per say so at this stage i'm not sure how willing i am to pay full price. Thats true I guess. I loved both the single players, just love the aesthetics. But long term its all about the multiplayer and even though I was pretty good at it the resistance 2 multiplayer never did like it in the same way as Killzone 2's did and now I've gotten kinda good at Killzone 3 it makes me wonder whether I will still be playing it a few months down the line? Dwarf was right though its arcadey fast paced gameplay and feel is something else. It's very different to the majority of shooters out there.
Aimless Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 For dwarf: I like that people take a good amount of fire to bring down, there's not exactly a dearth of one-shot-kill shooters out there and sometimes you need to give combat mechanics time to breath.
flameboy Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 A new cross game pregame strategy title has launched: http://www.myresistance.net/global It's called Global Resistance its actually not all that bad for one of these free games that are nothing more than a promo for the full game. Theres not a lot to it but enough hooks so to speak to keep it partly interesting!
dwarf Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2011/07/28/resistance-3-public-beta-dates-early-access-starts-august-10th/ Resistance 3 beta for Europeans starts on 10th August if you're a PS+ subscriber. I might get PS+ for a couple of months.
dwarf Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 I don't think so, but you'll have to check up on that.
dwarf Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 If anyone somehow gets the lowdown on when this goes live on the store before me, make sure to inform! I follow Insomniac on Twitter because I'm not uncool and stuff, so they'll likely be badgering the Europeans to get on that shit anyway. Apparently they've been having a lot of issues with the beta in terms of matchmaking errors and whatnot, they've got a patch coming for all regions coming but I wouldn't be surprised if the servers go tits up tomorrow. Triple post ftl.
