Gave her 1000 myself. She must be one expensive escort, but I've always had a thing for girls with green hair.

EDIT: Scrap those 8 packs I bought yesterday, I just dumped all my stars into it. I have a feeling that I will regret this decision.

Lol I was considering doing that, I did spend a few thousand points on them, maybe 3500? then I started redeeming all of the codes that came with my Wii gamesand I realised that I could easily have the 2500 required for the rather lovely full deck of Hanafuda cards that I've had my eye on for a while, so I ordered that instead seeing as I'd already secured a 'few' packs of AR cards. :)

Been using the old DS thumb strap to play this. Eliminates cramp while retaining a sense of decent control. Just not that into the disconnect of stylus play.

I tried this too, it almost worked for me but I've settled on using the stand now as I've become rather comfortable with the stylus control, would still have loved to have been able to have the option of using the Circle Pad Pro though... I can see that the touch-screen probably affords better control than a second circle pad but the larger triggers would have been very useful indeed.

No idea... but yes I've been offering up hearts too, I try and keep it to around 1000 a day seeing as it doesn't seem to 'do' anything much apart from make Palatena walk closer to the screen but there will probably be a square on the 'treasure hunt' for donating a certain amount. so I think it'll be worth it. :D

Oh btw, thanks for the game earlier, was fun playing against/with you, RedShell and Mike. :hehe:

Yeah, I had fun! :yay: You guys are good!

It sure was, you guys are pretty tough, so far the Silver Bow is my fav, although it's value is only 175, it makes up for this in it's range and accuracy of shots. can't wait for the Golden Bow!

btw can you get random rewards when battling with 'Friends' because I don't remember seeing it before the matches began. some lucky loser got a 5 STAR!, yes 5 STAR! weapon in range & 3 STARS in MELEE! :o as a random reward after an online match, for the next 4 matches I didn't get anything until my 5th where I got an EZ Launcher :blank: even though I hung em' to dry.

I can see myself playing online in this for a long time!

Just because you have a 175 silver bow, it doesn't mean all silver bows are 175 - you can get them at any value. If you're determined enough to get that weapon, you can find out how to fuse others together to get it, and hope to get what you need at a high level. Personally, I really wanted some high level beam claws, and managed to fuse my way to a 270 set. What you'll mostly end up doing though, I expect, is just using either what you get randomly in online battles or the solo mode, whatever has a high level. Either that, or whatever you produce by fusing it. There's certainly an element of luck involved though -you can't ever guarantee getting a high levelled version of a certain weapon.

Is 270 the maximum weapon level?

I've got a set of beam claws (very low Lv though) and love the rate of fire on them. :D

And what's the deal with becoming Pit/Dark Pit online? I thought you were supposed to be super powerful at that point, seeing as your team is on its last legs. But whenever I changed into Pit yesterday, my weapon seemed to change too, and I ended up with this really slow purple blob pea shooter thing! :shakehead

Also, is it possible to set up games where it's friends vs randoms, or is it only friends vs CPU? :hmm:

*EDIT*

Made a thread for the online board:

I'm not sure what the max level is, but it's definitely not 270 - think my highest is a 308 weapon
Yeah, I just spotted a 300+ weapon online. :)

I'm really tempted to fuse a couple of my most powerful/favourite weapons into a new one that has loads of stars on both Ranged and Melee attacks, but losing those weapons without being sure if the new one will fit my play style is holding me back. :hmm:

Wish it was possible to try out potential fused weapons beforehand, because I fused a few weapons, and ended up with some really rubbish stuff. Like a soup bowl that can barely fire shots, and a massive slab of metal that didn't seem capable of firing at all! :o Only charge shots and melee attacks! icon13.gif

It's gonna be tricky finding that perfect weapon I think...

Does anyone else get a HUGE Starfox 64 vibe from this game? It gives me the exact same feeling as Starfox did - hugely likeable cast, great gameplay and immense replayability.

SOME FURTHER IMPRESSIONS:

Actually ditched the thumbstrap now and I'm just using my ACTUAL HUMAN THUMB to aim on the touchscreen. Feels pretty good! Occasionally switching to the stylus, but I prefer holding the entire system with both hands. I'm too weak to single wield.

The amount of content on this cart is insane. If this is any indication of the content we can expect from Smash Bros 3DS, it will be the greatest game ever released. Additionally, I find myself playing this with the 3D slider almost all the way. No game other than Super Mario 3D Land has encouraged this - a definite plus.

I wonder how this will sell - it really deserves to do well. I want to be able to buy the AR cards in stores like old Merlin Premier League 96 sticker packs. Are there any plans to do this, or will they be released as event/online specific?

I'd like to know that too, but I haven't seen any indication of it yet.

I totally agree, to be honest not so long ago, this game wasn't even on my radar, when I first started playing on Thursday... Mind was Blown. :o

Welsh has alluded to this too, and I also play with the 3D on, expect there are times when I may not use it for example crazy-high-speed-online-mayhem.

To be honest, it fell off my radar completely. The demo controls had left me cold when I played it at the 3DS preview event, but positive feedback from everyone on release encouraged me to give it a go and I'm damn glad I did.

The controls are occasionally twitchy, but rarely enough to bring down an otherwise solid experience. I guess everything is far too charming to focus on any of the small issues with this title.

Gave that bitch Palutena 4000 more hearts and she started walking towards the screen.
Make sure you've got the 3D Slider set to full strength, she might jump out of the screen!

Speaking of the 3D Slider, I noticed there's a subtle click sound effect when you switch from 2D to 3D, pretty sure this is the first game to do such a thing. Only a small detail, but cool nonetheless. :hehe:

The game is just jam packed with little details, like the classic mess with the menus by dragging them around. Love stuff like that. :D

It's possible to crack or even break the eggs in Idol toss too. :heh:

Anyway, how's everyone doing in the Solo mode? (Anyone clear a stage on 9.0 yet?) I really need to get back into it, but the online play is so addicting that I'm finding it difficult to continue the single player game! :hmm:

I finished stage 4 on 5.5 difficulty, just like you I find myself going back to the multiplayer games a bit too much

btw RedShell, I think SM3DL had a small clicking sound when switching between 2D-3D, or was it just a visual 'Switch' I can't remember. but I definitely agree with you those little bits of extra care really adds to the whole package, credit to the devs :D

This game is the best thing to hit the 3DS so far. I got so engrossed in the second chapter I felt like I was on a theme park ride half way through. I think it's true that any game Sakuri is in charge of is a masterpiece, it was well worth the wait. I haven't even tried multilayer yet, but I know I'm gonna be addicted to it. Also then nods to the original are awesome

Don't recall that. :hmm: Mind you, because of the horrible button layout, SM3DL is one of my least played 3DS retail games (and Mario games in general)! In fact, I think I've played this game more already!! :D

Indeed, so many of them too. icon14.gif

I just did Chapter 9, my word!... Epic doesn't even begin to sum it up. :o :o :o

Also, it literally made me explode with laughter...

during the re-match against Twinbellows, when Pit said this:

"We're gonna rack up some serious Nintendogs trainer points together!"

 So unexpected. And so funny!

I can't see anything topping that line for me, but hope to be proven wrong. :hehe:

I've definitely found some more motivation for the single player mode now anyway. :bouncy:

On Chapter 5 myself as I'm too busy enjoying all the other features. The content is amazing and I absolutely love the aerial moments. The controls really let the game down when it comes to ground battles though, for me it's just not comfortable at all.

If they managed to get dual analog support in, this game would have been perfect in my opinion. It's incredibly good, don't get me wrong, but I feel it's just too awkward when it comes to control when it comes to ground battles and it really shows in my gameplay performance haha.

I'm surprised by how well the online keeps up with the action there's no slowdown at all. Although there appears to be no lag, I think there is a system within the game that covers it up similar to the netcode used in Capcom fighting games, as I'm seeing quite a lot of projectiles coming through walls (unless this is a glitch or something).

EDIT: Just cleared Chapter 5. Awesome chapter, but whoever came up with those vehicle controls needs a slap.

I've cleared Stage 1 at 9.0 intensity, but that's as far as it goes. I'm playing every stage at a minimum of 6.0 so far, I have a feeling I might have to lower that a bit later on haha

I don't really get the big deal with these AR Cards?... when are you ever actually gonna use them?

..To take photos of them and gain 100 hearts for each? D=

It's just something to collect for me. I ordered 4 lots but after I opened the pack included with the game, I ended up dumping all my points on them because they looked quite nice!

Ah so they have a use in game do they?!

Great to here all the positive impressions of this game... definately gonna get it up at some point now!

Yeah, I did that bit today too

Was totally worth rebattling the bosses for.

Defeated Medusa today.

Chapter 10 (I think, the lava/volcano stage) looked really great, especially the flying section, possibly another favourite stage.

Edit: It was chapter 10...

Just done that myself:

Was very close to failing on the boss. Don't reckon I'll be beating many/any other Chapters on 9.0 though. :hmm: 'Tis craaaazy! :shakehead

Yeah, they are a really nice collectable. Although personally I'm not planning to "catch them all" :heh: (only placed 1 order on the stars catalogue :hehe:), mainly because I'm trying not to accumulate so much stuff. But seeing as there are so many scans already available online, I won't be missing out on the hearts/Idols anyway. :)
