He is a fool, such a great player who is now going to be remembered as le cheat.

If this one incident makes him a cheat I better not show you a youtube compilation of his previous dives and what not.

I am clearly bias to this train of thought, but I can't help but disagree with it completely. He's not tarnished anything, he still is a fantastic footballer, and he'll be remembered as that. How many non-English people call Maradona as a cheat, frankly they don't. We complain, but the rest of the world rate him in the top 2 players ever. Zidane, how many people remember him as a dirty player? No one? Yet I recall reading the man received 16 red cards in his career (unfortunately I've not been able to back that up with a source).

Events like these are but blemishes on fantastic footballers careers.

Final example, Cantona, yeah he kung-fu kicked a fan, but shit he was a quality footballer.

Referees that could tell their arse from their elbow would be a step in right direction.

How about head cams for goalkeepers. The Ireland keeper had the biggest argument.

xD That would be truly epicly bad. Talk of cameras, I can't stand those over the pitch on a cable cameras. They had one in Qatar for the England game, does my head in, terrible angles and I always think what if the ball ended up hitting it..

The guy handled it, he didn't lie about it or whip off one of his old boss's former sayings. He even said that's replay it. What more could he do?

I think we all know what most people would say.

He's done all he can do.

Anyone see Roy Keane's interview on SSN? Got it spot on for me.

I've never thought of Henry as a cheat and I still don't. Read his statement on SS.com, he makes all good points. Yes, it doesn't make it anymore better for the Irish fans but come on did they really expect FIFA to replay the game.

Agree with that completely.

Ireland showed piss poor defending and relied too much on the referee to notice the infraction. They stopped playing and gifted that goal to France in the end. Not something a side in the world cup should be doing.

Very well said. The Cantona example is a great one. That guy had a rollercoaster of a career. But, you ask the majority of United fans who would make it into their all-time 11/X1, a big portion would have Cantona in there. Fantastic player. I grew up worshipping the guy.

Henry did wrong, and he will probably never truely pay for what has taken place. How can he? Unless the match does get replayed (which it probably won't) or if he misses the World Cup, there is just no possible way he can ever be given a punishment to fit the crime. But, he has done so many things right over the years, and he has always been one of the most exciting players to watch. It will be a great shame if he is just remembered for this.

As for Maradona, I remember in school many years ago where some of my friends were talking about him. I piped up and said that I just didn't like the guy. I got slaughtered, but I still hate him to this day. You only have to see his latest "you can suck it" video after Argentina made it through to the World Cup to see that the guy is a prick. Can't stand him and probably never will. He did some great things with Napoli, but in the end he left there in less than favourable circumstances.

Also, that Roy Keane interview: I managed to catch that when I came home from work. He does make a point. In football, you should always play to the whistle. But, had the Irish players carried on playing after the handball and then appealed, surely it would have been too late anyway? I mean, look where Henry is, look where Gallas is. If the referee didn't spot the handball when they suddenly stopped playing, what are the chances he would have spotted it if they had carried on playing? He's right, they should have cleared the danger, but this was in extra time and no doubt the team were knackered by then. They were playing against a formiddable team, so I think Roy should cut them a little slack. To even get themselves into the position of just needing a goal in extra time was a great one that they worked themselves into. It's just a shame that some of the earlier chances had not gone in.

Cana is sublime. How come when we beat one of the top 4 it's because they were "dire"?

Can't be the only reason surely. Stoopid Sky Sports. Le Hiss and Merson (with his new porn tache) are bell ends.

We were bad though, but you took your chance, so fair play. We never have a good time at the stadium of light.

Cana is awesome. I enjoy watching him play. Also, great observation on the tache! I said the same thing to my brother and we chuckled.

The United game was great. Goals from Fletcher (brilliant goal, imo) Carrick and Valencia. 3 midfielders, which is always great to see. Fletcher was outstanding today. It is going to be very interesting to see what happens when Owen Hargreaves comes back. I think both Fletcher has cemented his position in the first 11 now, and Valencia is looking great on the right hand side. Do Fletcher and Hargreaves work well together? I'm not so sure it will...seems a bit too defensive maybe for my liking, but if this gives Fletch the option to go forward more then maybe it'll work? We'll see.

Rooney didn't have his best game, but I was a little surprised to see him taken off. However, Obertan looked a treat when he replaced him. I thought both Evra and Rafael were brilliant, they complimented each other well on either side. Overall, very chuffed with the way the team played.

Also watched the Liverpool and Man City game today. Before the game, I said a draw would make me happy. Well, I did say a 6-all draw with a sending off for either side, so I didn't quite get that, but this will do, haha.

4-1 win. A great performance today. Shame Moore didn't find himself on the scoresheet. He put himself about really well, narrowly missing a few chances. Credit to Cox and Olsson too; they had great games.

Fuck it... the whole team deserve a special mention :D

Shame about Mattock being strechered off. Will have to wait to find out what happening there. Looking on the positive side though, it allows Cech to try and assert himself.

Good work, Heskey.

Greenock Morton have been pretty much shite this season. But after a 5-0 thumping of Raith last week, plus going 2-0 down to Airdrie in the first ten minutes then winning 4-2 today, The Ton are...not climbing up the table because the gap between us and Raith was pretty f'in big to begin with. :blank:

We were abosolutely outstanding. Lennon, Defoe and Kranjcar played out of their skin - Lennon especially. Should been 9-0 as well, seen as Scharner pulled an Henry and blatently handled the ball. All in all, a great week of footy. City losing points, 'Pool losing points, Villa losing points, and the scum getting beaten by an Ex-Tottenham goal. Brilliant.
