That reminds me of people who say that not having to change discs in each game on PS3 is a reason to choose PS3 over 360. XD

Seriously...you take the UMD out, put another in. The PSP go is not a revolution by removing this process!

Haha im one of those neurotic people. Its not a revolution but for a console its a nice selling point that speaks to lazy people. For a handheld its a godsend that speaks to lazy people that hate clutter.

I don't own any of the consoles, I play PC, but I have to say that the Playstation conference was really exciting. I don't think there's ever been a better tech demo of the motion-sensing stuff, on Wii or 360 or PS before, than the sword and shield demo. I could actually get behind that. God of War, Last Guardian and the ModRacing (or whatever it was called) game looked fantastic. The track builder was pretty woah. AND UNCHARTED.

Xbox conference was pretty good, but lots of sequels. The Forza livery stuff looks fantastic again. TV/DVD stuff is ace. I'll be getting COD42 on PC.

Nintendo don't make games for me anymore, sadly. When Reggie said 'every defiency in your swing, every mistake, will be replicated in game' I thought, that's exactly the point. If I want that, I'll go play real tennis. The point of video games always was that you became Nadal.

And the PS curator was the least annoying.

Shiiii, haven't seen you post for a long time.

Retro, it´s the Xbox 360 where you pay for the online.
Think you've muddled that a bit.

Oh yeah, got confused typing...

So that just leaves the PS3 controller!... and I think I can get over that!!

I'd be missing out on Alan Wake and Mass effect, but other than that...

:yay: I think my mind is FINALLY made up!! :bouncy:

Well I guess a lot of people like to play it on the 360, where they can have Live running with its' services and without having to have an expensive gaming rig.

It's not a revolution, and neither is it lazy to have games on the HDD. If you had to carry around removable media in order to use apps on the iPhone, it wouldn't have taken off. The PSP Go is the first sony console to embrace this fact.

I don't know of anybody that says that's a reason to choose PS3 over Xbox either, partly because you can do that on Xbox.

Just put custom firmware on your PSP, then you aren't carrying around UMDs (store games on the huge memory card you can buy) AND you get homebrew and countless PS1 game-playing possibilities. UMD or memory stick playing possibilities. Seriously, it's common sense. :p

Edit: Around £40 from sellers for a 16GB MS Pro Duo, then you have the same capacity as the PSP go! Not to mention you can trim the crap off a lot of games if you have custom firmware to save even more space!

I have to say despite my skepticism about Natal I am tempted to buy a 360 BUT I think there is enough on PS3, PSP and just enough hardcore games on Wii to keep me satisfied. I think the fact that Microsoft very clearly points out it works with future xbox models makes me think Xbox 720 isn't all that far away. I don't its necessarily going to be proper next gen console but may be more iterative. This is purely because of the strength of the platform.

I'm weighing up getting a DSi or an iphone/ipod touch and think either would be a better purchase to complement my gaming already.

In short: just pirate the shit out things.

The renewed interest in PSP is probably new looks + Gran Turismo, real MGS, Motorstorm etc.

Hi Wes. I have finished university and am a bit bored.

I got a 360 and a Wii, i have no plans to get a PS3 as of yet to be fair.

Even though Sony had a great showing at E3 i have to admit.

I think it is about time I dipped my toe into the handheld market once again. Despite selling all of my portables prematurely (excluding original gameboy pocket) i.e. the GBA and DS, there are always games worth playing on them, and if I can pick up one on the cheap from a trustworthy seller (probably Go second hand) then great.

It still depends on support and game cost. I think if big titles cost £15 then I'd be sold, however the lack of second-hand games market does worry me because i don't like paying RRP unless it's a good title.

My DS has been out of battery ever since I left sixth form. We used to have time trial competitions with the Kirby game on the first level. It lasted months and months, and the fastest time was like 10 seconds or something. After a while everyone picked up a DS and we would play Mario Kart in breaks/free periods.

But now with like six hours of university a week, there's no use for hanging around and it just sits there. The joy of a handheld is incredibly reliant of on your personal circumstances. I imagine now I'll be travelling on the train a lot I'll bring it out again.

Even without carrying around a load of UMD's you've still got to carry around a huge PSP. Now that it's only a little larger than an iPhone and I'll be able to fit one in my pocket its become a much more attractive option.

Along with some fantastic games coming out at the same time or just a few months after it makes far more sense (for me) to go for the Go rather than a regular PSP.

When you open it up to actually play it it gets bigger (and looks fucking ridiculous)...plus the Slim and Lite (2000) isn't really all that big or heavy. You really would be paying an extortionate amount extra for just a different model. You wouldn't be able to play all the great PS1 games on it, or get games for peanuts (preowned or *cough*), or enjoy the wonderful custom firmware. The advantages to an original PSP are absolutely huge, and in the long run would be enormously cheaper.

What's your argument 'it gets bigger when you open it up' about? It gets bigger when you want it to get bigger and play it, once you put it away it's good storable size. I think it looks pretty good too.

Phones get bigger when you flip/Slide them...

I actually think it looks better than the current models, and I had planned to have it folded up when carrying it around. Slim and Lite might not be too heavy but its still too big to carry around in a pocket, much like the DS.

Obviously there are advantages to both models, for me the PSP Go has more of what I want so that's what I'm getting. Sony themselves have said both will be supported so I really don't see what the issue is at all. If it doesn't do it for you stick with the old one.

Well I was going down the 360 route because of the next tales series entry being on it. I still have issues with the amount of noise the damn thing makes. The only thing standing in the way of me getting one Is the fact that some of the other titles I wish to get will be far superior on the pc. As for the ps3 never been interested mainly price being a factor. I'm not a cheap skate by any means, I've just got issue with it in terms of perceived value.

And as for the psp, old psp support will probably quickly turn to ps2 style support.

But you can download all the games the PSP Go can. The only limitation of either machine is the Go can't play UMDs.

I am also thinking of a PSP... because my girlfriend has a DS so I already have that... the PSP looks nice... and FFVII running on it... nice!

Or have custom firmware, which is what a large proportion of PSP owners use. Of all my friends who have it, I don't know a single one who hasn't got custom firmware installed on it. The PSP would be a load of shit without it.

As for the 'pocket-size' aspect - just who really is going to keep it in their pocket and play it randomly as they would a mobile phone game? In almost all situations that I can think of, if I'd plan to play my DS outside of my house it would be during some sort of journey or going to stay somewhere for a while. In which case, I'd almost definitely have a bag with me, and the handheld would go in there. I've been on enough buses during your regular day for short travel to and from places to know the number of people playing handheld games consoles on them is tiny (even though the GBA SP is pocket-size). It would also end up scratched to fuck if it was in your pocket (because we don't all have the inner jacket pockets like the businesscock in the video), meaning it would have to go in a case, increasing its overall size.

What with this model coming out, you will be able to pick up a 2000 for an absolute steal, even with a 16GB (equal size to the Go) MS Pro Duo. And the additional features will more than make up for the lack of its 'pocket-size'.

Yeah, you've said all this. It's my birthday and I want this...even though I'll have to pay for the majority of it (and if past birthdays are to go by, all of it :indeed: ).

I'd never get a normal PSP because I don't like how the nub is directly under the D-pad.
