Here is the trailer:

Quicktime version is better quality than the one on PSN. Just extract the Mp4 from it using yamb or something or use PS3 Media Server to play on your PS3.

Here's a rundown of anounced features from online to effects:

Some brand new graphical features never done before(light reflecing off dust) and stuff like Move for head tracking. Worth a read. They have more videos too.

Alot of cool stuff this e3.

The 3D feature was almost complete two years ago, actually. We could see that it was in that natural flow of technology and where things were heading. Discussions with Sony regarding 3D technology began more than three years ago. More recently we have spoken with Evolution Studios, who have put a lot of work into stereoscopic 3D, about things like video formats.

Because Gran Turismo 5 is built to run at 60 frames per second it was easy for us to implement 3D. It’s quite difficult to convert a game that runs at 30 frames per second to 3D.

SO seems like even japan studios share tech?

GT5 Course Maker Unveiled

Following months of speculation, Polyphony's Kazunori Yamauch finally unveiled Gran Turismo 5's track editor, known officially as the course maker.

Rather than being a fully featured editor - a feature that, Yamauchi confessed, was tinkered with but deemed to complex - the course maker allows players to select certain set parameters to create a track. A theme can be selected, with the Belgian High Fens or Toscana two examples, and the individual track sectors are then defined.

Sectors are edited individually, with frequency of curves, sharpness of corners, degree of topography and banking angle are set with a series of sliders.

Yamauchi created one for the purpose of the demo, a 10km run through the Belgian High Fens. It was sparse but not without sparkle, with rolling hills and fields and the occasional environmental feature like a small village giving it the feeling of a long and winding country road.

Karts were also confirmed for Gran Turismo 5, and Yamauchi revealed that originally this was a feature intended for Gran Turismo 6 - but after it leaked Polyphony decided to put it in this iteration.

Sounds awesome, what doesn't this game have?!

Looks like some of you better get a bigger hard drive!

From Joystiq.com

Yamauchi: Gran Turismo 5 has optional 10GB install

530jsphotomodekyotoshirakawamercedesbenzslsamg10.jpg

Yesterday, while answering Gran Turismo 5 fans' questions via his Twitter feed, series creator Kazunori Yamauchi made a fairly startling announcement. Though the game will only require a 256MB pseudo-install on the PS3 hard drive in order to be playable, Yamauchi suggests players reserve 10GB of HDD space for the smoothest possible gameplay experience.

Yamauchi's 140-character missive wasn't able to explain exactly why the game has two install options, or how much of an improvement the 10GB installation would offer. Not that this should matter much to folks who own a newer PS3 with a beefier hard drive -- though folks with one of the older 20GB models probably have a few difficult deletion decisions to make if they pick up Gran Turismo 5 when it launches November 2.

My 500gb is ready. Can't wait to install. The game looks like it does everything besides toast bread on engines :p

The head tracking by the way is just left and right viewpoints. Like in prologue. So nothing too complex which explains how they put it in without any major penalty on performance.

TGS Red Bull GT5 Trailer. Probably one of the best trailers to date.

GT X1 Prototype Teaser:

Introducing the "X1 Prototype" Project with Red Bull Racing

Sony Computer Entertainment today announced a unique partnership between Gran Turismo® and Red Bull Racing to create a virtual car which will push the boundaries of motorsports. The Gran Turismo development team at Polyphony Digital posed the simple question, "If you built the fastest racing car on land, one that throws aside all rules and regulations, what would that car look like, how would it perform and how would it feel to drive?" With the assistance of Red Bull Racing's technology, Polyphony Digital were able to produce the answer in the form of the "X1 Prototype" which will be playable in Gran Turismo 5.

Red Bull's aerodynamics expert, Adrian Newey, performed the role of technical advisor on the X1 Prototype project. Newey is renowned in the motorsports world for designing championship winning cars. Throughout the X1 design process by Polyphony, Newey contributed his vast experience, as well as a pure, child-like technical curiosity. As a result, the completed X1 Prototype became an extreme car, having a unique form and mechanism unlike any other racing car in history.

Performing the shakedown test and settings for this Gran Turismo 5 car was the world famous driver Sebastian Vettel. On his first virtual lap, Vettel achieved an unbelievable time on the Suzuka circuit, beating the course record by over 20 seconds.

Comment from Kazunori Yamauchi, President of Polyphony Digital Inc.

Every race in the world today conforms to some sort of regulations, and every racing car is built to fit within those various regulations. However the X1 is something new, created from a "what-if" dream we have long held at Polyphony. We want to inspire racing fans and the industry alike by exploring the realm of possibilities for the future of motorsports.

Earn your chance to drive the X1 Prototype when Gran Turismo 5 goes on sale in November 2010.

Comment from Adrian Newey, Chief Technical Officer of Red Bull Racing added

We all have a dream about pushing the boundaries, where the performance of the car and the experience of the driver take precedence over the rules. Only with the technology of PlayStation®3 and the virtual environment of Gran Turismo 5 could that dream become a reality that millions can explore. This is the inspiration that brought the Red Bull team and Polyphony together. And as a result the X1 Prototype is dynamite to drive.

Battling the Elements:

My brother has been looking forward to Gran Turismo 5 for a long time but I've not really given it any thought.. partly because I don't personally have a PS3 and partly because I have never enjoyed any Gran Turismo anywhere near as much as something like F-Zero, Wave Race, Sega Rally etc..

However, that does look very impressive and I'll be sure to play it with him when it eventually arrives :heh:

GT Academy 2010 is about to be turned into a reality TV series, airing Sundays this fall on UK television’s Channel 4. As you may recall, GT Academy 2010 took the world’s fastest hot-lappers (so long as they didn’t live in excluded countries, such as Japan, Canada, or the United States…ugh) from the GT5 Time Trial Demo and put them under stewardship of real-world motorsports stars such as Eddie Jordan, Johnnie Herbert, and Sabine Schmitz for 5 days of physical, mental, and driving tests at Silverstone. The winner joined the RJN Nissan Motorsports team to compete for the FIA GT4 2010 European Cup.

I won’t spoil the end result for those of you who will be watching the competition for the first time, but the drama throughout the week should make for a great show and nearly all of the finalists you’ll see are GTPlanet members. Here’s the full schedule, and a short preview video of the first day below.

Ep 1- Sunday 19th Sept @ 08:20

Ep 2- Sunday 26th Sept @ 08:00

Ep 3- Sunday 3rd Oct @ 08:00

Ep 4- Sunday 10th Oct @ 08:00

Ep 5- Sunday 17th Oct @ 08:00

Ep 6- Sunday 24th Oct @ 07:30

We can confirm that Gran Turismo 5 will not be available this November 2nd, but the game’s release will be coming this holiday season.

We sincerely apologize to GT fans for the delay, however, creator Kazunori Yamauchi and the team at Polyphony Digital want to make certain they are creating the perfect racing experience, and we are confident that this ambitious game will exceed expectations when it launches.

We’ll have more information for you in the near future.

Small delay for the US. Europe not confirmed yet, not sure. Dont mind delays provided they polish up as much as they can.
