ViPeR
Totally forgot about the Hardcore mode. Might have to give it a bash first time too. As for the sleep cycles, well I kinda did that in Fallout 3 anyway. Hardly ever travelled at night, and if I ever had to sleep I made sure I woke in the morning. Still might. Argh!? The sum of its parts don't equate to £30 surely? But that's price elasticity for you. akjfewkljf roarrrrr!
Dog-amoto
I've had it with Special or Collectors Editions of games. They take up too much room on my shelf and it's a load of shit that I don't need. As for them being worth something one day, they are so mass produced that it's very unlikely. Though I won't deny that there's some cool stuff in there, but I just want to play the game!!
dwarf
I wouldn't say these are MASS produced, Fallout 3 merchandise is rare on eBay, and they retain their value.
ViPeR
Does seem like every new game gets a collectors edition these days though. Kinda loses the specialness. Only ever bought one and that's Mass Effect 2. Will just be getting the standard version. Can say goodbye to my life for a few months...
MadDog
Not sure whether i should pre-order this. Fallout 3 was ok i thought, wasn't a massive fan. Might wait for a few reviews, see what's new/different.
Emasher
Seeing as they've lowered the system requirements for this now, I might consider getting the PC version instead of the PS3 one. It all really depends on weather or not I can get bootcamp working this weekend or not.

Aimless
Next Tuesday, the 19th. Incidentally the game's started to pre-load on Steam if you're that way inclined.
dwarf
I've pre-ordered the standard version from Play. Potentially would've been wiser to pre-order from Game because their bonuses include 5 stimpaks, which I'm gonna need for hardcore mode.
Emasher
I haven't managed to get Bootcamp working, so it looks like I'm going to have to go look for a copy of the PS3 version on tuesday.
flameboy
I wouldn't say these are MASS produced, Fallout 3 merchandise is rare on eBay, and they retain their value. I'd say they are mass produced if you look globally its worth waiting that limited edition will be dirt cheap at some point so its not worth getting now. Does mean holding out which I know your not going to do though lol. Also about your previous comment, I'm not so sure the extra cost is always worth it sometimes the bonus stuff is very cheaply made. Cube
BioShock 2 has really put me off collectors editions. You can get it new for less than £20 now. As the New Vegas CE is double the cost of the game, I'll pass. Edited October 18, 2010 by Cube
LegoMan1031
BioShock 2 has really put me off collectors editions. You can get it new for less than £20 now. Tell me about it! I'm proper gutted about that, regretted getting the special edition at launch i do!!

Gio001
I remember getting the Fallout 3 special edition for £14.99 from Play.com while the standard game on the site was priced at £24.99...... Mad!! Was tempted by the New Vegas special edition but came to my senses when i saw the price! Preordered this from Game, can't wait but bad timing as i'll be away from Thursday for a few days so it will be sat at home!!!
dwarf
A friend told me another thing about hardcore mode - you can't fast travel anywhere if you couldn't make it there yourself in-game without starving/surviving. And if you do fast travel, your stamina stuff will be affected for doing so. Hellish!
Emasher
So in other words, you have to use intermediate destinations to rest. Hardcore mode sounds like a role player's dream.
Mundi
It also sounds like my dream mod for Fallout 3. Cranking up the difficulty and not using waypoints was one of the most intense gaming experience I have ever had.
Caris
Reviews today.
Nolan
In the US the CE is just another $20 onto the regular price so it's not as bad. I'd be very put off if it was double, but I'd still probably get it as it really appeals to me. I'll be picking this up approx. 4 tomorrow after work and possibly playing, but likely waiting until Saturday.
Emasher
I'm not sure if I'll buy the special edition or not. The price difference in Canada is the same as in the US, so I can justify it, I'm just not sure any stores near me will have it on day one. If I see it on the shelf though, I'll buy it. Mundi
Reviews from Giantbomb and Joystiq were very positive. Giantbomb pretty much said that if it were not for the technical issues, New Vegas would be the better game. Only three more days...
flameboy
hmmm going to retract what I've said about missing this game out for awhile...I've come into an unexpected cash windfall so think I might get it....
Caris
Some of those technical issues sound terrible, I think I'll pass.
