Play got my copy to me today. Played for an hour or two, am enjoying it. Liking the iron sights, vistas (though not enough grey atm!) and I'm glad I have spoiled pretty much nothing.

New perks etc is making me excited just a tad, just getting straight back to picking up the odd stimpak and unlocking safes... S'all awesome!

As for the PS3 patch: I started playing it at around 4:30 for an hour, had a 15 minute break, rebooted, then the patch was up. Thought it was a bit quick! Ah well, I haven't had any bugs. Yet. I thought I did have one when a woman asked me to shoot some bottles on a fence, because I couldn't see any, turns out I wasted a couple of ferlongs reloading a save file when it turns out they were behind me near a building. Muppetz.

Early signs of hardcore indicate it is manageable, however I won't be happy til I have a permanent bed. And have good supplies of food etc. Water is in plenty supply at one location so that's fine for now, and heaven forbid - no rads!.

Yeah they've been bad at getting stuff to customers on time for a while now..

Had a real bad experience with them a couple of years back. They took a week after the game was released to get it to me...Gave them a second chance with this because I wanted the preorder bonus Shotgun. Well, it'll be GAME from now on.

It took two week for my avatar collectors edition preorder to get here...I stopped using them for preorders awhile back...although am waiting for BTTF Bluray preorder with them as was cheapest.

Shopto are the best for getting it to you day one!

Did you guys bully Play when you were younger or something? Mine was sent out tuesday, arrived today (on the minimum 3 days delivery).

Fine by me. As have been other orders.

Have not tried out the caravan shotgun yet. Every other item seems like it could be picked up after little exploring, though on this I am not certain. It was just the way a certain general type of wasteland wonderer was described (leather armour & binos).

I THINK I'M GOING TO WAIT UNTIL THE GAME OF THE YEAR EDITION FOR THIS...

HAVEN'T GOT THE CASH FOR IT RIGHT NOW AND AM LOOKING FOR FORWARD TO SOME OTHER TITLES MORE...

ALTHOUGH I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED IF I END UP JUST BUYING IT IN JAN/FEB...

I'm starting to get to the point where the story is starting to pick up. I was thinking the Legion were the clear "Bad Guys" but after talking to Caesar, I'm having my doubts that the NCR is really as good as they seem to be. The Legion might do some terrible things, but it seems like they're just a bit more open about what they do than the NCR is. Having so many factions with the major ones being neither good, nor evil is a nice change from Fallout 3's "Brotherhood Good, Enclave Bad" story.

Just a little tip, pick Benny's pocket rather than trying to reason with him or fighting him. Not only will that get you his key without a fight, but you can also get his unique 9mm pistol.

Okay so there's this faction at Nipton that strung up/burnt everyone that lived there. I saved it, and decided to attack them all. After they'd all died, I thought I'd gain karma or something. But a message cropped up just showing that I was no hated, and there'd be different consequences with different people, and it said the quest was failed. I want to do all quests, but surely there should be an option to kill them instead?

Also, would other factions take my newfound 'fame' as it's called and think 'well he's good, he destroyed part of another faction' ?

I'll just continue my previous save and do their quest I think. Laim tho.

You were probably hated by the Legion, they're a major faction in the game, they were the one killing everyone in the town. In the quest you were actually just supposed to find out what was going on in the town, not kill anyone. You actually can't do all the quests in the game in one play through because some of them force you to do something that disrupts another one. Other factions only take notice of you killing members of their enemies if you're doing a quest for them, otherwise, they wouldn't really have any way of knowing.

What difficulty were you playing on that you were able to kill the Legion soldiers in Nipton though?

Does anyone know how permanent the presidential suite is in the Lucky 38? I want to kill Mr. House, but I still want to leave my equipment there.

Either I just encountered a bug or the population of Primm are the most "on edge" group of people in the game.

I walked into the casino museum there and bumped into a drinking glass that fell on the floor.

Instantly, every single person in the house drew their guns and started pacing around.

No one did anything hostile, people just pace around there a lot while waving their guns.

Is anyone actually experiencing these major bugs that so many people are saying happen to them all the time? The game has frozen on me the odd time, and I have seen some graphical glitches, but I really haven't had much problem with the game at all.

I thought I would do a bit of exploring, so I started heading North West from Vegas, to my surprise, it wasn't just more wasteland, there was an entire mountain range back there with all sorts of trees and wildlife. Annoyingly, they have invisible walls around all the mountains, and while you can actually get passed the walls, its incredibly difficult to get down afterwards, as the walls work both ways.
