Ganepark32 Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 I don't think it looks to bad. Granted, it does look like you're constantly on the accelerator but it reminds me of the old Burnout titles slightly and Outrun a little. It does look good in motion, even if the environments do look rather 'cartoony'. Want to see/hear more about the whole de Blob-esque gameplay aspect.
Noku Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 But there doesn't seem to be a lot of actual racing to it... Like you keep your foot down the entire race...
Retro_Link Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 http://www.eurogamer.de/videos/exklusiv-need-for-speed-nitro-gameplay-video... oh dear! This is coming straight off the most anticipated list!
Ten10 Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Ok from that video I know playing this game will make me vomit.
Zechs Merquise Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Need For Speed Nitro will be relesed for the N64 later this year.
DazzeL Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 I don't think it looks too bad visually tbh.... *runs and hides for cover*
Nicktendo Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 I don't think it looks too bad visually tbh.... *runs and hides for cover* I agree, screenshots are looking good compared to the earlier ones and much, much better than most of the crap that's on the shelves
Retro_Link Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 It's the gameplay i'm worried about, looks aweful from the vidoes we've seen. Surprising after the great job EA have done with SportsActive, Tiger and Grand Slam Tennis.
LostOverThere Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Ding Ding Ding! First reviews are in, as the game was released in the United States today. GamePro awarded the game a score of 4/5, praising it's Breakneck speeds and awesome co-op/competitive multiplayer, while criticising the muddy visuals and shallow single player campaign. http://www.gamepro.com/article/reviews/212801/need-for-speed-nitro/
mr_bogus Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 (edited) Looks fucking great Fast, smooth, unadulterated arcade racing GIMME GIMME GIMME - Need For Speed was never meant to be an RPG anyway. Edited November 3, 2009 by mr_bogus s/ever/never/g
Tellyn Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 I don't think it looks too bad visually tbh.... *runs and hides for cover* Trust me, when/if you get to play it for yourself, you'll appreciate how dire it looks. Saying that, it's a pretty fun racer! I didn't get long on it at the Eurogamer Expo, but I think it's definitely one more suited to multiplayer. I'm sure it had items or weapons, but I couldn't work out how to activate them.

Do you have to play it with the wii wheel or can you use the classic controller or GC pad? Also, is it online?
darksnowman Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 I'm sure it had items or weapons, but I couldn't work out how to activate them. Aww, poor little Head of Noobs. *pets*
mcj metroid Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 looks great from the videos. don't understand the graphics complaints yet.
Tellyn Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 looks great from the videos. don't understand the graphics complaints yet. It just felt totally bland. I appreciate that they've gone for a more comic approach than the realism of previous NFS games, but it totally lacks character. A missed opportunity.

LostOverThere Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 There's no online in the game, and the reason I dislike the art style is, like Tellyn said, it looks totally bland, lacking in style.
Zechs Merquise Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 There's no online in the game, and the reason I dislike the art style is, like Tellyn said, it looks totally bland, lacking in style. Lack of online is a bit poop to be honest. I think they've tried to do something different with the graphics, but considering how good certain racing games looked on the XBOX or even PS2 it's a bit of a sad state that no one has done anything decent for the Wii with just nice, clean and polished realistic looks.
Ten10 Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 I still think that as far as last gen goes. Burnout 3 is just beautiful. Haven't seen that matched on Wii at all.
Boomstick Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 (edited) Some gameplay vids I recorded can be found here - http://www.youtube.com/user/ScutFarkas63#g/u I think the game is a blast Some pics of the cars I've built. Edited November 4, 2009 by Boomstick
Retro_Link Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Gametrailers Review - 7.3 Doesn't look all that great imo. Visuals look rushed, levels have a cheap cardboard like appearance, and lack of online multiplayer is pretty poor, 3rd parties should really be more behind it by now!
Falcon_BlizZACK Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Ho ho ho... Kinda reminds me of micro machines. Speaking of micro machines, think it's time for an update Codemasters.
ShigeruTR Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 Hoo-hoo. Well, nice graphic style. It is very nice for Wii but unfortunately there isn't online. Poorly. :\ Also, you can check out my review for this. (Turkish) ht tp://ww w.dijikent.com/Gamereviews.asp?grid=164
