ReZourceman Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 I have been inspired to make some t-shirt designs (and have bought some myself, lozzles) What do you folks think? Any good? I'm adding some most days so I guess we shall see. http://www.redbubble.com/people/ReZourceman *Disclaimer, GL one isn't mine and I'm deleting as soon as they send me the one I bought.
Emasher Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Those are pretty good. I've made a couple shirt designs over the last little while. I guess I might as well post them. http://www.redbubble.com/people/emasher/t-shirts/1447191-1-a-return-to-8-bit
Eenuh Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 I like your 1987 one Rez (though 1985 is clearly a better year =P ). You need better tags to your designs though, since using a sentence doesn't really work, heh. =P Oh, also, you can set a design to private (so it's hidden from the public), for example with your GL one. =) And Emasher, that design is pretty cool. =) I use a lot of my drawings for designs. My most popular one at the moment is my Whistle Boy one (totally unexpected). http://www.redbubble.com/people/eenuh/t-shirts/1918379-1-whistle-boy

Goes without saying of course that your t-shirts are legendary.
Eddage Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Thought I'd give it a go,spent hours on my first design but am really pleased with the result... I'll add more over the next couple of days, was thinking about doing a zodia series... http://www.redbubble.com/people/Eddage
Emasher Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 That Return to 8-Bit is awesome. And Emasher, that design is pretty cool. =)] Thanks 10 Chars

Paj! Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Rez, I quite like the spot and square ones. They're minimalist, but the patterns are fuzzy and engaging. I'm really not keen on those "flare" designs...just an extremely obtuse-to-the-eye design. ---- Question; Can one upload and sell T-shirts that might be referencing established properties? Like If I made one using song lyrics from big name artists? Or a famous design like the bat symbol, etc.

What does LFTM mean.....it means something different to me lolz. *Winks at Molly and Spenno*

Though I doubt they'll do much, unless people report you (I know on DA you're not allowed to sell stuff like fan art, yet it still happens). Just something I wouldn't do, as it's kinda cheap. If it's for personal use then fine, but selling it to other people is kinda crossing a line I think... But that's my personal opinion.

ReZourceman Posted December 4, 2008 Author Posted December 4, 2008 Oooh sweet, I like it. *Checks it out*
Chuck Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Just checked out redbubble and its £45 for three t-shirts. Thats a bit expensive.
Emasher Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Just checked out redbubble and its £45 for three t-shirts. Thats a bit expensive. The shirts are sweat shop free and you do pay a certain amount extra for the design. If you submit the design you obviously don't have to pay this though.
Paj! Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Cheaper than a lot of "trendy" high street shops.
rokhed00 Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Never heard of redbubble before, always used cafepress to do my own Tshirts, how do they compare pricewise?
Emasher Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 I think its like $19.99 plus whatever the artist is charging for the design (obviously you wouldn't need to pay this for your own design).
Ashley Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 Do they have to go up publically for sale? Because I do wish to do a design but its using lyrics and obviously then it becomes copyrite issues (although obviously its fine for just me, but I can't go making money off it).

Yeah, you can set anything you upload to private, so only you can see it and get it printed.
Retro_Link Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 With redbubble, when you're design is put on the t-shirt, is it a transfer right? so does your design have a shiny look to it? or a slight shine? or somehow a matt finish?
bluey Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 i want this ahh that's the one i bought for jamba's birthday present take off the priiiiiceeeee!!!! >___<!!
Goafer Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 (edited) My "designs" are nowhere near as good or creative as other peoples. It's normally a case of me wanting an obscure retro shirt, none existing for the thing I want and then making one from a low res image. Here is a few, I'll state if it's my own design (and how I made it) or not. I'll only post the designs instead of the actual shirt: First off, Rude Dog. Not my design at all (obviously). I took a low res picture of the original shirt and traced over it in flash to get a clear picture of the design. I would just buy the original but it's pretty rare. Plus I didn't want the whole design: This one didn't turn out very well thanks to cafepress. Just found an image of the Outrun advert and deleted the bits I didn't want printed (mainly the sky and top banner): Next up is a picture of my bike. It was a photo then photoshopped: And last but not least is one I did of my car. Pretty obvious how this one's done really. I never got it printed since it would probably be a bit too detailed. Might do another one with the effects from the bike one: Edited March 30, 2009 by Goafer
