EEVILMURRAY Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 It's that time of year where I keep watching the Band Aids one after the other or repeating one again and again [i think my record was 5 hours when talking to Flinky?] We need to do one. Don't bullshit me. You all know you're feeling it. How many of you are willing to lend your vocal talents to this monumental piece of internet musical history? For inspiration: Band Aid Original Band Aid II - 1989 Band Aid 20 If people are feeling it, post your interest, as well as any lines you'd like to sing. If sucessful voice files will be sent to me. Video files also if you're feeling that extra bit of commitment. Make your mark people. Lyrics for people [THESE ARE NOT SET IN STONE. YOU CAN OFFER TO DO OTHER/MORE LINES]: 'It's Christmas time, there's no need to be afraid' Mokong X-C 'At Christmas time, we let in light and we banish shade' Mokong X-C 'And in our world of plenty, we can spread a smile of joy' Paj Meen Ah, EEVILMURRAY 'Throw your arms around the world, at Christmas time' ReZourceman, Tellyn 'But say a prayer; Pray for the other ones' Dyson, EEVILMURRAY 'At Christmas time it's hard, but when you're having fun' Dyson, EEVILMURRAY 'There's a world outside your window, and it's a world of dread and fear' Eenuh 'Where the only water flowing is the bitter sting of tears' Eenuh, S.C.G. 'And the Christmas bells that ring there are the clanging chimes of doom' conzer16 'Well, tonight, thank God it's them, instead of you' conzer16, Charlie 'And there won't be snow in Africa, this Christmas time' Eenuh 'The greatest gift they'll get this year is life' Eenuh 'Where nothing ever grows' Mokong X-C 'No rain nor rivers flow' Mokong X-C 'Do they know it's Christmas time at all?' jayseven Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 I might be willing, and thus could probably ninja others in the sheffield shambles to contribute. If you add a list of lyrics to the first post then you can even keep tabs

If you add a list of lyrics to the first post then you can even keep tabs Done! The lines aren't exclusive, they can be split up as they have been done by certain versions. I've cut out the Dizzie Rascal bits, because they just don't need to be in there. Also, for the shots of those playing instruments, we could have those playing Guitar Hero or Rock Band or something.
Dyson Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Oh I am SO in for this. Mark me down for...vocals, rocking out the plastic instruments, anything. Sounds absolutely brilliant. Were you thinking a comedic stance or a cereal stance on the song? Talk to me. I'll happily lend my vocal talents to any of those lines. Though in accordance with BA20, I suppose I should do the "Here's to you" etc section due to my old resemblance to the lead singer of Keane (or at least one of the videos anyway >_>), but I dunno if I'd 'suit the role'. Fuck it, I'd be interested in doing any of the lines. Since I have an early shout though, I'll take the lines 'But say a prayer; Pray for the other ones' 'At Christmas time it's hard, but when you're having fun' Or whatever. Stick me in wherever you need me. Hope others sign up for this badboy project.
Eenuh Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 I wouldn't mind singing some parts. =) Not sure about video though, don't think I have the right equipment. Edit: Oh and for lines, I don't really mind which, but one of these would be nice: 'There's a world outside your window, and it's a world of dread and fear' 'Where the only water flowing is the bitter sting of tears' 'And there won't be snow in Africa, this Christmas time' 'The greatest gift they'll get this year is life'
ReZourceman Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 I'm in. I'm fucking in. Lets save these kiddies, bitches. Video talent should be mandatory, or else we can't make a video. Do it. Is there an instrumental version, and our lyrics over the top of that, or are we just miming. THIS IS AWESOME! Best thread ever.
weeyellowbloke Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Amazing idea, I'm in like flynn. Reckon we should do both videos and recorded sound files so mixmaster Eevil can do some pr0 layering on "Feed the world, let them know it's christmas time" and then sync it to the vids.
Charlie Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 I'm in. Bagsie "Well tonight Thank God it's them instead of you. This is my personal favourite version.... Live at Live Aid 1985!

Everyone can sign up for a line and submit O_O
Jav_NE Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Amazing idea. I'd love to join in but i don't have a mic or webcam
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 I'd be interested in one or some of these lines: 'Here's to you' 'Raise a glass for everyone' 'Here's to them' 'Underneath that burning sun' I presume we should all sing the choruses?
ReZourceman Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 I don't know if there is an instrumental version, I believe one was released with the original. And I really should learn to learn how to use some video software ¬_¬ Movie Maker is pr0 easy.
conzer16 Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 I'd love to contribuute! I'll do these lines if noone else is: 'And the Christmas bells that ring there are the clanging chimes of doom' 'Well, tonight, thank God it's them, instead of you'
ReZourceman Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Christ, the "Instead of you" seems to be quite popular. People wanting to flex their vocal skillz eh? I dig, I dig. Not gonna lie, I have precisely zero vocal talent.....but what else I bring to the table more than makes up for it. Seriously this video gon'be amazing.
conzer16 Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Ah I Didn't see that Moria had bagsed it! Ill do whatever at all if sure!
EEVILMURRAY Posted November 7, 2008 Author Posted November 7, 2008 I presume we should all sing the choruses? That is correct. Your payment for singing a line is being given the honour to sing in the chorus. Movie Maker is pr0 easy. I hope so. I shall see about messing around with it later. Just to get the hang of it for future use... Actually... I should be able to work with Final Cut pr0 probably, since I spent time using it in my 3 years at uni [i think] so if someone could ''obtain'' it or already has and pass it on, as a temporary loan of course, it would be benefitial to the project. Ah I Didn't see that Moria had bagsed it! Ill do whatever at all if sure! Haven't you been listening?! THERE IS NO BATHROOM!! Or bagsies.
S.C.G Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 I'd happilly take... 'Where the only water flowing is the bitter sting of tears' If Eenuh wants to take... 'There's a world outside your window, and it's a world of dread and fear' but she posted it first so I'll leave it up to her tbh I'd be happy taking either of those lines if Eenuh wants to take the other one also btw Ine I totally think you and Flink should do a duet for whichever line you choose as that would be awesome. ^^ anyway yeah I'd like to help... and to sing my line in the style of Muse if possible... >> Talk to me Eevil!

Your singing style doesn't matter I think really, the amount of varied voices in the Band Aids complements us. ADDITIONALLY! For those doing videos, if you could have yourself with some large headphones I'm sure it couldn't hurt. And a large mic as well ¬_¬
Mokong Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Eevil, great idea, put me down for the following lines 'It's Christmas time, there's no need to be afraid' 'At Christmas time, we let in light and we banish shade' 'Where nothing ever grows' 'No rain nor rivers flow' If that's too much from me to take, then just the 1st two also this line which appears twice 'Do they know it's Christmas time at all?' and these Feed the World' (repeat) 'Feed the World, Let them know it's Christmas time again' (repeat) I think everyone should record those and if you can mix them all together so it sounds like we're all singing in he same place. I'll prolly do both video and audio files for ya
ReZourceman Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Yeah making it blates, I think video and audio need to be mandatory.
jayseven Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Yah, everyone should sing the chorus bit several times or something :P I... have no idea what to sing as I can't sing, so is there any bit that sounds like a cow mooing that I can imitate? I can do that.
Eenuh Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 I already recorded some lines and saved them, but apparently I can only save as an .m4a or something. Not sure you can use that? Anyone know what I can use to convert it to .mp3 on a Mac?
EEVILMURRAY Posted November 7, 2008 Author Posted November 7, 2008 If you can get Goldwave on a Mac, you can open the file then save it as a MP3.
Eenuh Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 If you can get Goldwave on a Mac, you can open the file then save it as a MP3. Nope, sadly no Goldwave for Mac, at least not as far as I can see. Can I just send the file to you anyway so you can convert it?
