nekunando Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 IGN Readers' Choice: Top 100 Games of All Time
darksnowman Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 Yeah, atleast its not the IGN editors top 100... cos the list is a farce. I followed it when it started unfolding, and from 100-60ish was a joke. I went back and checked out the top ten and atleast the right game got the number one spot. Each to their own though.
nekunando Posted October 30, 2008 Author Posted October 30, 2008 Yeh.. I posted the list here before I even checked the list out.. If I had known how awful it was I maybe wouldn't have bothered It's a disgrace!
Jonnas Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 People voted, right? So it's not that bad. Top 100 games are always so hard to do, so I just face them as a "list of games worth playing". I'm actually surprised that the NES Zelda made it and Super Mario Bros didn't. I'm even more surprised that FF7 isn't higher, considering how popular it is.
nekunando Posted October 30, 2008 Author Posted October 30, 2008 ..hmm.. for me, the list was missing far too much and included some games that were either strangely placed or probably shouldn't have been there in the first place I really enjoyed Conker's Bad Fur Day on the N64.. it was great fun ..but how it sits on that list at #19 I just don't know..

I never played Conker, and you're probably right, but no matter the standards used to make such a list, an oddball will always have to appear somewhere. I like seeing an oddball once in a while. The only part I hated was the over-abundance of Madden games...Urgh...
Cube Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 I went back and checked out the top ten and atleast the right game got the number one spot. Each to their own though. I didn't even need to look at the number 1 spot. It wasn't anywhere else on the list so it was clearly Banjo-Kazooie.
Sheikah Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 The problem with a 'Top 100' list is that there's really little difference between #78 and #79, for instance. It should be something like the 'Top 5'.
Mundi Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Seriously what is up with IGN´s obession with lists
Chris the great Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 it seemd like a pretty fair list to me, it reflects the current ign readers tastes. obviosuly it's different to most of ours, but then we are a different social group. what annoys me is the list seems instantly defunct as fallout 3, far cry 2, fable 2, call of duty world at war, little big plannet and outher games are out ove the next month or so. meta critic is probebly the best indicaton of the top 100 games, but even then we get fanboys voting 1 on outher consoles games and ruining it.
RoadKill Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Seriously what is up with IGN´s obession with lists Makes people feel important, plus they can then watch all the fanboys NERD RAAGE on forums, and laugh. Putting a game such as Madden in a good games list is instant-trolling material
Ren of Heavens Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 One of the better lists I've seen actually. A bit too many sports games for my liking, but great to see people haven't forgotten about old, low-profile games such as Skies of Arcadia. Shenmue II at number 10 and Chrono Trigger at 2 was a positive surprise .
