Takara Tomy has decided to resurrect the franchise on the Wii. However, this game is not a sequel of the classic PlayStation fighting game from Takara, this is an original new game, which has nothing to do with the classic game.

Toshinden for Wii will be a weapon-based fighting game, you fight to determine which one's weapon is the strongest Toshinki. When your energy gauge is filled, you can summon the power from your weapon and transform, which boosts your power and give you access to super attacks.

So it's a cel-shaded (ish) DOA / Soul Calibur for Wii with anime stylings and waggle thats probably not anywhere near as good as the sum of it's parts?

I'll pass ty... :heh:

Toshinden Battle Arena (iirc) was great fun. Hope this is one ounce 'similar'. Will keep an eye on it :D

It's nice that we are seeing lots of Wii announcements for both existing franchises being rejuvinated and brand new franchises. Great times to be a Nintendo console owner imo.

I saw some videos from the PS1 games. Honestly, they didn't look good.

But I'm willing to give this a chance. It seems they realized it was better to start from the ground up, apparently.

haha Well i guess i haven't looked at the ps1 one in a while toshinden 2 was a near launch game... so I have no idea when 1 came...

*Does research*

1, 2 and 3 were all on PS1. The first one was launched in 1994.

I had to do make astute use of Google, Wikipedia and Youtube, but I finally decided that yes, I did play and enjoy Battle Arena Toshinden 2 alot on PS1... and oh yes, it was good. "Call me queen!"

Dunno how it'll end up on Wii though, and its meant to be unrelated anyway.
