Guest Jordan Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 http://kotaku.com/397414/mega-man-9-coming-for-xbla-psn-as-well Full details here! So... which will you buy? I'm very undecided right now. Sony - I like being able to buy games with actual money off the PSN also the PS3 joypad has the best D pad going. XBOX360 - Achievements, adds to my ever growing amount of XBLA games. Wii - Nostaliga factor.. but the damn flash memory is running out
Pit-Jr Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 PSN by default , but also for the reasons you listed
Daft Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Defo PS3 for me. It should have trophies and my 320Gb HD is hungry and I trust my PS3 not to brick it. Plus I can't stand the noise of the 360. ...and my 360 controllers keep breaking.

Daft Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Your controllers keep breaking? O_o Yeah, its something to do with the batteries. Its really annoying. I think I'm going to have to buy a plug'n'play thing. Its just bad luck but it is f*cking annoying. But since I haven't touched my 360 for the past 5 months I'm not too bothered.
Hellfire Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Although I have no freaking idea where Arstechnica got this from, because there's absolutely no one else reporting it, it makes sense. Anyway, obviously getting it for the Wii. Don't have a ps3, 360 d-pad sucks and sideways remote= win. I mean, it's a NES game, what better to play it than with a NES-like controller? :P
James McGeachie Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Guess the deciding factor for a lot of people will be if the Live and PSN versions (assuming they exist) have HD assets. It's possible that part of the retro feel is that everything is being drawn at a standard def resolution and 4:3 at default. Wonder if the file size will be just as small as the NES games too.

Hellfire Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 They have no source and are most likely basing it on a fake E3 site that was around. Again, it would make sense, but on the other hand Inafune is so keen on making this old school and keeping it as a NES game I wouldn't count on HD in new sprites Guess the deciding factor for a lot of people will be if the Live and PSN versions (assuming they exist) have HD assets. I've heard lot's of people saying that 16:9 wouldn't feel right in a 2D platformer, cause of the level design, makes sense, but don't know if it's 100% true
Tales Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Didn't Nintendo refuse to release a game on Wiiware because it existed on Xbox already?
Hero-of-Time Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Being the achievement point whore that I am its easily the 360 version for me.
flameboy Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 PS3, better D-pad, likely to have trophies, no emptying the fridge to make way. nuff said.
Hero-of-Time Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 Looks like its the Wii version for everyone. Mega Man 9: WiiWare ONLY - False alarm. Please, go ahead and disregard this morning's post regarding Mega Man 9 being available for the PSN and XBLA. Capcom have since removed those listings from their E3 lineup (calling it "a mistake"), and have confirmed the game will only be appearing on the Wii.
S.C.G Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 Lol I found that amusing... anyway we have nothing to fear! As Nintendo will be announcing a solution to the storage issue at E3... apparently >> it'll probably be the ability to read directly from SD card, well w/e it'll "solve" the storage issue at least, SD cards are cheap and you can get them up to 8GB + ?
Mundi Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Additionally, we've got some news to report. First, Capcom has confirmed to IGN that Mega Man 1 and 2 will be coming to the Virtual Console soon. And second, Mega Man 9 will also release for Xbox Live and PlayStation Network respectively. No, it's not a WiiWare exclusive, but nevertheless, it's going to make an excellent addition to the libraries of all three consoles. http://wii.ign.com/articles/888/888041p1.html The plot thickens....
Fierce_LiNk Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 This is as exciting as the Cristiano-Real Madrid-Manchester United Triple Threat DeathMatch style saga, with proximity mines taking place on the library levels against 2 cpu opponents.
Hero-of-Time Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 YAY! I can get the 360 version now The trailer in that IGN link is simply awesome.
Hero-of-Time Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 True, the 360 d-pad blows but I enjoy getting achievements. The MM games are already hard as hell so I cant wait to see what achievements they come up with
killer kirby Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Well all aside, I am happy that people who own a PS3 or a 360 can also enjoy this game. Although it's annoying going to different forums where people are wanting now were the same people that were giving it shit because it was first stated for only Wiiware. Plus I think it's enough with the whole wanting this game HD >_<
Cube Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 I don't quite get the problem with the D-pad...the analogue stick works fine for all the 2D XBLA games that I have.
